Video Screen Capture Lags, HELP!

Hello, so every time I try to use Microsoft Expressions Encoder 4 screen capture my FPS drops from 17-19 all the way down to 7-9.

I don't have to tell anybody that an fps of 7-9 is really bad. 

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep my fps from dropping? while i try to take some sweet video shots?

Buy a new video card along with some more ram.
