India Doesn't? :o Aww...No! :(

Even if you would of been able to buy in your country (India), you should play more time in Tanki and only then decide if you like the game so much that you want to buy in-game currency with your real money.

I guess that for their own sake, the Developers are working on enabling Crystal-Purchasing in more countries - more places that Crystals can be bought in = more money!! :D

Exactly! If you continue playing and you decide that the game is very important for you, buy Crystals. If I'll ever buy Crystals it won't be because I need them - I have enough - it will be in order for the Developers earn something for the amazing game the made.

Just to clear up some confusions, India DOES have the option for SMS payments. AIRTEL, MTNL, LOOP, & BSNL all are listed as carriers that support this facility. However, you have to check whether your plan with your carrier includes the ability to send texts to premium-rate numbers. For some carriers, you might have to set it up by calling them first.

As an impecunious bloke currently living on a scholarship in a third-world country, I'd never considered buying before, obviously. But this last month with this no-extra-fees-on-SMS-payments stuff going on, I finally couldn't resist and tried paying about 165.45 INR (about 2.83 USD) for 4583 crystals. I have two sim cards amongst the four listed above: AIRTEL and BSNL. BSNL didn't work. AIRTEL DID work. I had a double crystal card as a daily gift that day, and I indeed ended up with 9166 crystals within moments of sending the text. A fair investment, i should say, considering that it enabled me to buy my first m1 (Ricochet, on the last sale, at 50%) in the game.

For those of you who still are a tad unsure as to how to proceed with the process, these are the steps. But first, let me remind you that I've always been a prepaid user. So postpaid plans I know nothing about.

1. Basically, all you need to buy crystals in India through SMS payment over an AIRTEL prepaid connection is this: your AIRTEL account balance should be at least the cost amount (in INR) that you are going to spend.

2. Currently, as you can check through pressing the Tanki Online website's BUY button, you have three options:

 A. 165.45 INR for 4583 crystals;

 B. 109.20 INR for 3025 crystals;

 C. 33.09 INR for 917 crystals.

3. So, e.g., if you want to buy option B, you need to have at least 109.20 INR (preferably 10 or 20 Rs. more) in your prepaid mobile balance.

4. Then you just need to send a text to a number (54999606, to be precise) in a particular format (check the three different SMS formats for options A, B, & C in the website), and, within moments, the exact amount in INR that you chose to spend will be deducted from your mobile balance and the relevant number of crystals will show up in your Tanki account.

5. That's it, really.

To sum up, I personally have tried it with BSNL and AIRTEL both. BSNL didn't work--no money was spent, just that the text simply refused to go to that specific number. AIRTEL worked like a charm instantaneously. MTNL and LOOP users might try and post up their results.

Great analysis (I'm not from India but still)!

Thanks,

ariking777.

It's just that us folks from the developing countries often miss out on chances like these simply because the whole process is, sometimes, totally unfamiliar and unprecedented to us. I'm not going to go over the whole buyer-vs.-nonbuyer debate again, of course, for I believe that choice should be left to the people who play the game. Nor do I think that my meagre contribution will make any difference to Tanki's funds, even.

Simply put, people should get the chance to take an educated decision: whether they end up buying or not is an entirely different story. :)

That's so right. BTW, right now I realized that I can buy Crystals in my Country (Israel :)) via SMS. I don't know why I thought otherwise at all... :lol:

That's great! Try out different mobile operators. If one doesn't straightaway support texting to premium numbers, you can call their customer service representatives to try and set it up (without any extra fee, obviously). Anyway, no harm in trying out different operators, since, as far as I can tell, you don't spend anything if a particular service doesn't work--the text doesn't get sent, that's all. And if yours works right away, then that's even better.

I'll try them all out when I decide to buy Crystals. Right now I'm not intending to buy, but there are high chances that I will in the future.

Spending 150 INR for 5500 ( apx ) is too much costly, basically we need discount country wise as NFS give us

Omg another gift to the buyers. When will you give us normal players a gift? Make a small contest like the one with the props so everyone can get a small reward

We're hardly getting a "gift". Crystals are just cheaper for us to buy...

Why not a forever discount 50% for non-buyers?

or at least a 50% on garage that takes a week -______-

Why not keepin` to the topic instead of putting that stuff about 50% everywhere? If u would have 50% - what would u buy and what would u do after buying cicle? Cause 4 sho half of players would buy everything there is with 50% for everything.
