I get to watch Isidas more than use one.

And I've been noticing a disquieting feature about some novice Isida users: you have to practically push them where they need to go. Besides the usual info (where's the attack, where should I go, what can I do, who can I shoot) they also need to check who's weak. We have all seen that shooting an Isida is a great shortcut to tell him/her that you need Health. It is clearly displayed above your tank, but sometimes they will recharge the wrong person, or at the wrong time (e.g. during an attack when they need to use their power offensively, rather than just keeping the big guns alive). I think this means that some get lost in the fog of war.

Some go overboard by always running solo attacks: I killed the same one more than 15 times today in Monte Carlo, always trying to get past the Shaft guard and seldom succeeding. One time I got killed by him/her because not one, but TWO of my teammates did not even notice the enemy approaching, and drove blissfully away. (Version of the "I need to hurry to get killed again" scenario)

Your own Isidas can hurt your survival chances, too, especially for Shaft when they will stand in your only line of fire while trying to "help" you! You can recharge teammates from the back or side. In Serpuhov, one Isida (apparently texting someone during a battle) prevented anybody from firing to support a besieged flag holder...and did not even attack the enemy that came and killed our man and recaptured the flag! We could really use an automatically displayed message that  says "get out of the way"...

As an Isida, I always tried to be as stealthy as possible: you might be able to kill an enemy before he kills you, but get too obvious and you will attract attacks every time you move!

its good to see players like u but in a map like monte carlo u might wanna use rail or shaft or you'll get bored of having to helping others when no ones helping u

I do however recommend you get another turret. Preferably a medium/long range turret. The reason being is it could.....get pretty boring over time playing the same style over and over and over. Also, as you go up in ranks, Isida may or may not get weaker, esp. against Ricochets and Twins, depending on how you use it (with drugs or MU'ed). Nice to see that you're pretty skillful at your favorite turret ;)

Thank You Very Much!

I know. I know. But for some reason, When i see a this map, i like to play Isida with Hornet, just because i know there wont be  many healers

in such distant maps.

I don't purchase crystals, and I probably never will, so my question

obviously is:

What is the most crystal efficient way to get my Isida Turret and my

Hornet Hull from M0 up to M3? Is it cheaper to wait until I gather the

resources and instantly upgrade it one step at a time, or should I

invest in partial upgrades and get the supposed "discount" on the

final upgrade?

I would say save your crystals after the first one or two micro-upgrades, then you can afford *whichever* turret you decide on.

I had buyer's remorse with Titan because even with the new strengths, the speed loss is ridiculous just to stand a couple more hits.

Actually, I was playing so frequently, that I often had to wait until I made the rank required. Isida only has that at M3 (brigadier)

and Hornet at the next higher rank.

Head to head Isida is near impossible to beat, save for Firebird, but even then it's close. Add to that the ability to heal friendlies and get tons of points for doing it, AND self healing when damaging, and Isida becomes one of the best turrets around. The sad thing is that even then not many people use it. In every game there is, no one likes being medic lol.

Isida = Survivability

Freeze = Utility

Firebird = DpS

That one medic who doesn't know how to rotate his turret.  <_<

Oh man I spread a nasty grin over my face every time I engage somebody

too ignorant to rotate the turret, especially when that someone is an Isida.

Honestly, Isida is the only turret where driving, rotating and shooting have

to be done simultaneously, otherwise you are throwing a great advantage.

I had countless situations where I managed to kill an enemy that clearly

should have won over me, just because I am the more maneveurable one...

In order to be a great Isida player, you need to be selfless. Many Isidas

tend to think they are invincible when they rack all the drugs and engage

the enemy head-on, and sometime it's true, but without the drugs it's a

whole different story. Most of the time, when it's obvious that the Isida

is constantly rushing, barely anybody tags behind, because most of the

time the Isida gets picked of from mid or long range, and they're next.

But when you actually stop and help your team, they tend to notice

you from time to time, I've actually had cases when players with

Titans and Dictators tended to keep close to me, they would move

towards the enemy camp, but stop to check if I'm still nearby, and if

I'm not, they would just reverse and go back to defend... It's quite a

treat to see someone actually rely on strategy, but it's so rare to come

across those players...

I've noticed that when I use my Isida I make friends, and when I use my Vulcan I lose them. With Isida I can heal, destroy, profit, and usually finish 1st or 2nd. What's not to like?

From m1 and upwards modifications Isida is really good. I'd suggest many of Isida users hunter as it works out good on most maps and fits in good.

10/10

The problem with the Hunter, at least without upgrades, is that it handicaps

the Isida more than it benefits it. Yes, you get aditional armor that makes

you mostly immune to being one-shotted, but you pay a higher price by

losing mobility, and that is the single most important thing with the Isida.

You need that extra speed to keep up with your allies, and stay ahead of

your enemies, I tried using the Hunter hull and it feels clunky and stiff

compared to the Hornet.

Most of us have realized that the Hornet is the most desirable hull to

combine with Isida because it provides a exact ratio between mobility

and durability, at least for those of us who are willing to act like proper

healers. As far as combat Isidas are concerned, those that rush ahead

without thinking straight, I recommend using the Viking, because most

of them use that exact configuration...

Just for the sake of amusement, I went to Youtube and actually

looked through random recordings of the Tanki Onlin eSport matches.

Where is Isida in those matches? Burried somewhere in some forgotten

corner of the universe, alongside with any other weapon that isn't a Rail...

Nah, Wasp > Hornet almost always. The only thing Hornet wins in is stability, and that's the only thing from making it useless.

StarSeries battles use a special light format, which lacks variety but streamlines tactics.

Hulls allowed:

-Wasp

-Hornet

-Hunter (limited to a handful per team)

-Viking (only 1 per team, I think)

Turrets allowed:

-Railgun

-Smoky (note that the Smoky they use is a neutered version that doesn't have critical hits)

Paints allowed:

-Any paint with Railgun or Smoky protection, but your total Railgun protection as a team shouldn't exceed 100%. Smoky protection is unlimited.

I don't enjoy watching Starladder matches that much since a lot of the gameplay is repetitive, but I guess it's easier to judge skill- everyone except for the goalies in soccer (football) is supposed to use only their feet to kick for a reason.

Unless you have a high account, you were probably using M0 Hunter, which is quite frankly a bad hull. It doesn't have the same handling or speed that the higher modifications have. M1 and M2 Hunter are a very different story- they handle very well and are decently fast.

I think that having extra health with Isida is good if you want to focus on healing. Yes, you want to get to your teammates quickly, but at the same time you want to be able to survive long enough to make a difference. Hunter-Isida is a good combat medic- it's fast enough to reach most of your teammates (especially medium/heavy hulls, they'll benefit the most from healing) while still remaining rugged enough to stay alive in the toughest of situations.

Well, each to his/her own. If you feel like Hornet-Isida is the best combination for you, by all means go for it.

i wouldn't say cheap, though it is good versing any gun but rico. Rico is strong with quick reload and fast shooting.  Isida by the other hand is the opposite, slow reload but good dmg with very short range. ISIDA IS DA BEAST!
