From the minute I joined the game, the first turret I bought in this game was the Isida. I liked it from the beginning because not only can you gain points by destroying other players, but you can also gain a lot of points by healing other players. This is a huge advantage! Some people may not like using this particular turret, but to have an Isida on your team is a very huge advantage. Although it is a short range gun, it is very powerful and it's my favorite turret in the game. :D

Interesting question. In a round of non-supplies recently in CTF I came out in first - but that's due to the score healing (I had 1700 overall - the next highest score on either team was 1200). I had a terrible ratio but still came in first overall.

I think you might face the same situation if you play team battles, but, if you are own your own in a DM you might have a hard time cracking the top spots. In a non-supply battle Firebird becomes really OP.

That's quite a nice score. 1 hour battle? I only play Polygon CP in which decisions are usually made in a split second - Whether to attack an enemy or heal an ally. (I'll try other modes later.)  Do you think healing to get scores is more efficient than getting kills?

Well if you consider there's no repair kits in a no-supplies battle you then realize how important Isida really becomes. If you hang around the flag base and keep your defenders healed it can make a huge difference. Same thing with Polygon if you can keep yourself down in the tunnel there and heal - I would strongly suggest using the strongest tank possible (keeping in mind of course the trade off in speed - this is why I choose Hunter for this).

If you look back on the prior page you can see the screenshot I took of the round when it was complete - Silence CTF with a 3 flag capture limit - and, as an added bonus I got a Gold Box too because I could heal myself while waiting for it to drop :D.

Wow, hearing from you makes it easy :D

Using Isida is quite interesting - It's unable to pull a strong takeover like my Twins M2+, but helps to maintain the CP. I had to use some drugs to keep it alive however since it gets blown up without them too fast (Titan M2/Isida M3). Due to its short reach, it's unable to fight against Rail/Thunder, but strong against Hammer/Fire/etc. It somewhat gains an equal footing with Twins if it's near. Below is a match in which I tried your tactic:

52xgfb.png

It is also quite challenging compared to Twins. At first I was frustrated but I'm slowly getting used to it. For example, Polygon CP, sometimes there are too many heavy tanks. My Isida was quickly overpowered, even with DP. (And without them having Anti-Isida paint.) It seems to lose in drug wars. I'm cracking my head on what to do about this kind of situation. Should I tend still rush to the cave despite lack of defenders?

Hmm.....

(I'm such a noob with Isida. :( But it seems that with Isida, it's better to heal rather than attack there.)

Isida is way too OP compared to other turrets. A battle with two Isidas or more in a team is almost 100% sure to win. An Isida drugging is impossible to kill unless you start drugging yourself.

Isida's healing, self-healing, and maybe range needs to be nerfed. It is clearly the most annoying weapon in team battles.

It is so annoying that I even plan to buy it  ;) .

Maybe I should MU those and see how it goes... (mine is 100% clean)

I still don't think it's OP compared to other turrets, especially in a match with heavy hulls such as Mammoth and Titan. Even with drugs. Strong against medium/light hulls through.

I don't fear drugging Isidas, I fear drugging Twins. Maybe Urban solve this problem.

Isida's weakness is the somewhat average turret rotational speed along with time to recharge (this means it turns slow enough to not be able to keep up with your motion if you are careful). Move back and forth with speed boost or in a close circle with speed boost and you can take advantage of this. Yes, seems strange to be closer to fight but the cone is smaller near the tank than further away.

Think about 20-25% upgrades - the first 4 or 5 will get you a good increase without spending many crystals. After those first upgrades it becomes expensive and the increase you pay for is really small.

Problem with Isida is it takes quite a bit of time to eat up the large hulls - meanwhile you are defenseless and cannot heal anyone - I would use Isida in a battle with mostly small or medium hulls and Twins in a battle with mostly medium or large hulls.

My point is not that Isida is unbeatable in close combat (except as I said drugging ones). What I'm trying to say is that with more than one Isida in a team, this team will win. When there is one Isida healing another turret, hidden behind him, you kill the Isida first. But two Isidas can heal each other, if you're fighting one of them, he'll self heal while damaging you, the other one will heal him too and you can't kill them...

This parameter (healing other tanks) clearly needs to be nerfed.

Edit: this situation takes place in maps like Polygon or so, obviously not Madness or Monte-Carlo.

By the time you become a Gizmo, you should have SUBSTANTIAL tactical and strategic knowledge about how to use Isida properly.

- If you have the wrong paint, don't try to stick it out. Attack some big enemy without a helping Isida. He will kill you, but you will weaken him and you can change your paint for no penalty on respawn.

- I found myself in some games today where I had to CHASE DOWN a victim because he just ran away from my beam! Well, it means I needed to use a faster hull, even if it means less protection. The next time I caught him.

- If you are in a Deathmatch, and your teammate is being attacked by another Isida, DO NOT TRY TO SAVE HIM by giving him health. If he could dispatch the other Isida, he would have already done so. KILL THE OTHER ISIDA. This will be a "wash" and eliminate the enemy Isida.  *** Here's what happens if you use the "aid" method: your energy goes to him, and the other Isida takes it from him, and he gains nothing except a second or two of time. Then once the enemy kills him, he kills you. This happened to me twice today against other Isidas, and in BOTH cases my fellow Isidas (BOTH GIZMOS) did the wrong thing and got us both killed!

Must have been my days for running into incompetents: 4 straight battles the leading team in CTF battles gave up the victory because they were too stupid to know it was happening or how to stop it. Most of the time they were trying to increase their own kills when they could have easily stopped the flag grabbers. I wish I could YELL IN RUSSIAN : Do you jerks not see that you are about to lose???

Or maybe I should create battles where I can just kill them with friendly fire because they are completely clueless.

Random battle teams must have cost me thousands of crystals. Maybe all we need is a "team awareness test" that melts down the tanks of the players who fail it.

i LOVE this turret! i only play it and nothing else! its so much fun!

i love healing my team and making them immortal :)

always scanning the area for someone to heal.

my most used hull now is Hunter.

i found that at M1, Hunter got WAY more HP than Hornet, and its still quite mobile, so it was a great choice for me.

at M2 both hulls get only a small HP increase so it doesnt change it for me.

i think this hull has good durability and is still very mobile, which is exactly what Isida needs :)

btw its NOT OP, firebird and freeze got special ability (burn/freeze) AND can hit multiple targets.

Isida on the other hand, has NONE of these, BUT got the healing ability, and the small self healing too.

it can only target 1 enemy and nothing more, and has no burning/freezing.

its very balanced that way, but if u r a good Isida player, u will make a MASSIVE contribution by making everyone in your team at full health all the time.

vs a lot its hard alone as u run out of energy fast, but u can still do well. with another Isida however, u can really immortalize your team B)

btw i almost ALWAYS get top score in my team, usually FAR more than anyone else.

the healing score is great and i focus on healing so i can really help the team AND get high score.

of course im also in combat and im pretty good at it when my team needs me to fight.

when running with the flag, i heal anyone along the way using the turret rotation while running to my flag :)

i make sure ANYONE moving near me within range, that is hurt, is leaving my range with full health :)

I started an alt named Vampire_Medic last night. By this morning, I have upgraded it to Sergeant and bought Isida M0. I used it for a CTF battle and lost badly, only because the team I was on was total crap. The Isida was pretty effective. I am looking forward to playing more with Vampire_Medic and this turret.

As an aside, I felt bad for the new players, I was battling against. My experience on this main at Brigadier let me mop the floor with those new tankers, leading most battles, usually ahead of the second place player by 10-20 kills. But that's over now... Vampire_Medic is a Hornet-Isida tank, and I am not used to either one.

ISIDA USERS:

Please take note, because a lot of isida users are apparently unaware of how and when to use the turret to aid teammates. Many practice using the Isida offensively, and to aid those who have low health.

But PLEASE learn when NOT to help players.

1) I posted earlier that isidas helping other Isidas in Isida-Isida battles should *NEVER* try to keep the teammate alive until AFTER the enemy is dead. Killing the enemy will eliminate the very real chance that BOTH of you will be killed!

Well, here's a couple of other helpful hints:

2) Do NOT improve the health of a Shaft that is sitting with his "light on" (aiming at a target). You will spoil his aim.

3) Do NOT try to improve the health of a teammate who is moving rapidly ahead of you on a narrow path, such as on Skyscraper, or the middle of Forest. Today I was killed twice by my own Isida teammates who were trying to "HELP" me when I obviously did not need help. One knocked me off a building side and the other sent me into a ravine. Had they simply done nothing, TWO BATTLES would have been won and not lost! Know when to turn your stream off, or just play another turret!
