Is isida and viking combo really as good as people say it is at the high ranks?

It's a good combo at all ranks, since Isida's healing and damage are very good.

IMO Isidas want speed. Much like an ambulance you need to get where you are needed ASAP. Since Viking is the 3rd-fastest hull in the game it is a good match, My Isida account ranked to Brigadier on Hornet. Then I bought a Viking for a bit more survivability.  I generally start with the Hornet. If the action is hot I sometimes go to the Viking.

It is already deadly in all battles

It is my worst night mare when i have a flag

Removing Selfhealing made Isida  kind of balanced

C'mon it can already heal team mates and kill at the same time , why you need self healing

If it had self healing now

You will be seeing 75% Isidas on filed

sad to but, the special effect "vaporisim" has been removed.

  • "A distinctive feature of Isida was "vampirism" - restoring own's health by inflicting damage to opponents. This feature was removed in the release of Update #441 on February 16, 2017. The logic behind this was that Isida became highly overpowered when a Double Power was combined with this effect."

I do exactly the same. Usually isida + hornet. In some games (DM, Assault when on blue team) I switch to viking.

@Willie I indeed have the support nanobot alt Mr.Willie and it makes a difference when you decide to heal in cluttered spaces. It's like a permanent double damage only the output is slower. I'll keep your suggestion in mind whenever I don't use the alt. I think it indeed will be more fun than what I do now but don't know if I can keep up with the supplies demand. I still use double damage sometimes in crucial moments though.. It's a power-up and not using them at all is plain multing to me.

As you say, the new system has some impact on being passive aswell. However, I don't see much of a difference. The charts are still XP-based. The difference in scoring CP points or capturing flags dissapointed me a little. How's your view on this

Am I the only one who noticed that the score gained out of healing other tanks has decreased drastically? I often play support and only heal. This once used to cause me to always end up the first on my team. Now I always finish last with a very modest score. Has there been any changes lately in that matter?

Thanks for the feedback on the healing alt.  I was going to buy it last same just to have it. I figure as a full time isida account it can afford 50k to have it just in case it might be useful at times. That account now has cash on hand and every itme owned is at max MU for rank, so I guess I will buy it next week on sale.  DD with that alt up means heling 3 maybe 4 titans on one juice bar.  I can see that being useful ... just so long as you do not have to fight.

That is why I did not get it. Often you 'heal' your team mate by killing the attacker first. :) The supplies is hardest on my SU stocks.  I figure I have to be speeding from hot spot to hot spot. Bu with missions my supplies are lavish ATM.

I have not played close enough attention yet to the payouts on Isida. What I think I will do is play a couple games on pure healing and a couple on high aggression. Do that for the next few days.  Thanks for teh reminder. This is something to investigate fer shur.

Well we know the scoring system has.  But this detail is what Splat and I posted on.  Let's all compare notes here OK?

While isidas are great weapons for team battles, their update a while ago made them technically the "best short range weapon" in the game. I think its too unfair since it does about 100-200+ damage (as listed on in garage, which converts to about 25-50+ more) more compared to firebird and freeze for each tier. Although firebird and freeze have a slightly higher range, it doesn't make up for the difference in damage. In small maps, all a team would have to do to hypothetically win, would be to all use isida with medium/heavy hulls. If you are getting attacked by an isida/hornet full on powerups while you do too, and you have hunter or any hull lower than that, with any weapon other than isida.(saying both players have all non upgraded m3s and no protections against either weapon, and that both players are traveling in a straight line). The only chances at surviving the non isida would have would be knocking them off course which would require some kind of turn and force which could also slow them down, or to use some of the terrain around them as an obstacle, which is only situational. If the other player was using: thunder, smoky, firebird, freeze, striker, ricochet, or rail, (assuming the isida doesn't miss any hits) would die. If the player was using shaft or vulcan and had already had it fully charged, they could live. If the player was using magnum might kill the isida but if they did it too late they would kill themself as well. My opinion on the update that changed isida is that it was not considered that much and mainly focused on people complaints about the self healing part. Maybe the admins did consider what it would do, maybe they thought it would be fine, but if  they thought that then they didn't really consider it much or care. (I am aware the update on its healing could be said that it "balances" it overall, but specifically for damage it doesn't.

In shorter terms: removing its vampirism was reasonable, but why not just make the damage about the same as freeze and firebird if it costs slightly less than freeze overall and slightly more than firebird.

People know this, it's just common sense, that isida is great. So they'll use it, which is fine, but it unbalances battles. It's very easy to see, all you have to do is take notice of it.

Well i am not a short range turret guy , and i do not mind 1-2 Isida's on enemy team  but if there are more than 4 then is the points you said come into play , Also in short range maps like Island

I am glad that for MM we have mid sized maps
