What is your "old Tanki"?

For me, it was when there were under 300,000 players, and the mine was first introduced, and the best tanks were railgun/isidas on dictators with digital and jaguar paints.

Back then I remember myself as a Warrant Officer 3 and barely having a M1 that time and being one the most poor tank of all my friends ._.

Had those fun flashbacks where I bought a Rico and Wasp just to disturb and do parkour in middle of a battle in Moon Silence :3

I remember the week Freeze and rico came out..... i thought they were soooooo cool but couldn't afford the exorbitant price of 500 and 650 crystals :( 

tanki before wasn't all that great when i think all the hackers and less paints and guns, but i can fondly remember saving up for months and finally getting m3 rail and m3 dictator which were cheap yet powerful enough to play vs higher lvls. then come the rebalance and all my m3s couldn't even buy a single m2 tank or gun.

And does anyone else remember a 80% sale on shaft? i might be crazy.....

I know a lot of you have been here far longer than me, but to me, "old Tanki" was back in May-June 2013 (not very old :3), back when Moon Silence was still here, back when fly hackers were everywhere, back when Mammoth was still OP, back when the Freezing time was long as hell, back when there was no friends system, back when the loading screen had the moving bullets, back when micro upgrades were non-existent, back when FederalBureauFBI was still a Marshal, back when MisterGeneral was Mister_G, back when BarbaFenner89 was still here, back when Lham was a forum mod, back when flae was still a Lieutenant, back when robbie's main wasn't banned, back when corruption didn't ruin the game, back when the game developers actually considered players' opinions, back when greed was not prominent in the developers, back when Tanki gave legit sales (65% Rail), back when Tanki didn't give out crystal buying sales instead of garage sales, back when everyone was actually satisfied with Tanki Online..

 

Why can't Tanki return to this??

First releases of Shaft. Railgun m3 + Viking m1. Affordable upgrades and prices, only 25% sales (people being happy about them).

Having m3 Smokey + m3 Hunter + m3 Wasp + m2 Twins + m1 Railgun on First Sergeant. 1000 Goldbox map. Old Silence, Old Madness, Fortknox III. Old graphics, better paints (color on the tank, not protection). Only 5 Servers. Purple bug paint.

 

Well, 3.5 years of Tanki for me now.

I remember a lot of the old stuff. I remember when there were 3 fort knox's. I remember the 100 golds, the old graphics. I remember when all tier 2 weapons were better than all tier 1 weapons. Ahhh the good ol days.  :rolleyes:

Although, before those, there weren't much of druggers, buyers and you can get M2s or M3s quickly.

 

And then the rebalance came which messed up everything...

I joined the game at about the end of April 2013, but I know about the Old Tanki pretty much by watching a lot of old Tanki Videos and archived articles from the forum :)

Anyway my old Tanki Online is like before rebalance, I still remember I used Firebird M2, Hunter M2 Roaming in the old silence II...

(Well now in my garage I'm missing the firebird m2)

To me, Old Tankionline is something that I treasure deeply. Dictator m3 is king. From that point, pick your turret. Hint : It's either Isida m3 or Railgun m3. Paint? Tundra, with the occasional Digital.

And you know, there was something beautiful there. Maps such as Brest and Tribute were king. Long enough sight lines for the Dictator Railguns to be effective, but enough hiding places for the Dictator Isidas to advance. If you wanted your team to win, you had better have the better Railguns and Isidas --- You needed a combination to win. Of course, within a few months of this, the first new batch was released to make the game a bit more interesting. Thunder, Viking, Hornet. In fact, I actually started the first Viking discussion thread on the main forum. And while I treasure these new turrets and tanks very much, they removed some of the innocence from the game. No longer were all people using the same tank. There were now many more options for weapons. Maps such as Tribute and Brest slowly, but surely, became irrelevant. Newer maps such as Silence and Highland took prominence. 

 

And what I might miss most of all was the lack of diversity in the group of players who participated in the games. I probably played matches with or against AwardRus dozens of times. I remember when Antichrist became the first person to utilize M3 Mammoth and M3 Thunder. I remember Error-404 beginning the classic Viking Isida combination. Even without a friends system, I was able to almost become acquaintances with people who spoke entirely different languages than my own, just because we played against each other so often.

 

Now, I am not here to reminisce on the past and to complain about the present, but there is a lot I would give to have one day with the Tier 1 and Tier 1.5 tanks and turrets back. One last nostalgic game at Brest. One last time to truly appreciate the way it was, because once it was lost, it was gone forever.

My oldest experience isbuying m0 railgun and being really excited and the loading screen were dots. also it took heaps long to save up 100 crystals back then. this was before mammoth and dictator came out and also ricochet, firebird (i think unless i made that up) and other stuff. i remember also you could buy M3 railgun at Seargant-major and that when i got it after the new look of the tanks came out (the one with the silver sidings) i finally got it. thunder was EXTREMELY powerful back then and it was everyones dream to have it and isida m3. Now everything has changed massively and it is no use buying crystals and u cant get good enough weapons and the graphics are kinda stupid. the battles were amazing back then too.
