When a gold drops in a stage with only 1 level, for example Stadium, it's best not to immediately rush to the gold when you see it dropping, unless you have a slow hull for example viking, titan or mammoth. If you have a light hull and you rush to the gold and stand right under it, it's easy for people to "climb" on to you, or push you away. If you have mammy, you run for the gold at full speed and sit under it and try not to get pushed away, and try not to let people climb on top of you.

 Learned this while playing a Stadium CTF, 3 times gold dropped, every time I sat under it and either got killed or pushed away. But maybe that's because I ran out of double defences :P

The maximum is 3000 not more. And an explanation, by special occasions he means during Halloween, Christmas and New Year and other days important for tanki (for example when Moon Silence was removed, 3000 gold boxes had been falling in the map).

Just got a 1000 on my alt! It was in Highland, I was on blue team, waiting between the main defensive wall of blue and the hill of red with nitro and double armor equipped (had no Double Powers, but it didn't matter, that Nitro saved me!) The gold fell right in front of the entrance through the wall to the red base. It seemed only me and a teammate had noticed it (and at the same time), and we had a drag race! We were both using Hornet, and he was significantly closer, but my afore mentioned nitro from the DBs got me there first and earned me 1000 crys! Now if only that could happen on my main...

My first gold was at Highland too ( I think before the new one came out). I was on my main this time, and I had created this battle right after the daily server update. Only 3-4 people had entered, the battle had existed for just over a minute, and just my luck, big yellow letters at the top of the screen announce : GOLD BOX WILL BE DROPPED SOON. I was on red team this time, waiting at the entrance to my base. The others were just spawning into the game on the other side of the map, and the gold fell right where I was waiting for the gold box today! I had no competition, it was easy :) And I just realized the gold I got today fell where I was waiting for my first, and vice-versa. Huh. I think I'll play Highland more now :)

please i want more double funds, when double funds were there i caught 2 to 5 gold boxes a day and now without double funds i get 1 - 2 gold boxes a week :(

The most goldboxes I caught in a week was 4.. And the most I caught in a day was 4... That day was in the same week I caught 4 in a week...

For the FIFA thingy, didn't the goldboxes go up to 500 or 400? (400 in the old currency is 4000 now)

Thinking back to 2010, when I first joined the game.

I was a private in a total noob battle when I went out onto a bridge in Molotov, where I was happily sniping away with the Smoky. Before I knew what was going on, a random crystal box spawned over my head. But instead of being blue, it was Gold. I thought it might be cool, so I got it. Instantly 100 crystals (old currency) appeared in my crystals, and. I realized that I wanted more of these.

Unfortunately for my and my nooby thoughts, I never caught another Gold until after the rebalance, at the rank Warrant Officer 1.

On a side note, what combo do you use to catch Golds with? I use Thunder/Smoky.

Can someone post some pointers to help noobs (like me) get some?

1. Know all the drop zones for the gold box on the map you are on.

2. When the siren sounds, self destruct if possible.

3. Go near a drop zone, don't kill anyone, most times they will leave you alone.

4. Try to stand back enough that you won't get damaged a lot. When the golds falls, if you are wearing a light hull, wait a seconds and then go in. You almost never want to be the one under the gold box with everyone shooting at you. If you have a heavy hull, go for it right away due to the decreased speed.

5. Grab the gold box and smile :D
