Probably range or rotation speed, especially if you are using a heavy hull.

Quick question.  What do you think is better to MU on a firebird?  Damage, or burning time?

I'd go for damage since most of the time the afterburn doesn't last till your opponent gets killed due to freezes and isidas who take away the burning effect or due to your opponent getting killed by a teammate before the afterburn is completely gone.

Too many people are saying you shouldn't MU anything except M3 gear, because you'll lose the crystals you spent as soon as you do a full upgrade.  That's like saying you shouldn't buy paints except for the really good ones, because you'll stop using a paint that gives 15% protection as soon as you get a paint with 30% protection, so the crystals you spent on the 15% paint are wasted.  That's obviously not true.  As you're working your way up the ranks, you need an advantage so you can kill more often than you die, and some carefully chosen MU's can give you that advantage.

You have to be smart, though.  For example, right now, my M2 Ric and M2 Thunder can both have their damage MU'ed up by 0.4.  On a Thunder, that's meaningless; I'll add that 0.4 damage once every four or five seconds.  On the Ric, though, that 0.4 gets added to every shot, so if I fire a 12-shot burst, I'm doing an extra 4.8 points of damage, and that can sometimes make the difference between killing and being killed.  Also, don't waste your crystals on features you don't need.  If you almost always use a Mammoth hull, MU'ing its Weight probably isn't worth it, because it's already heavier than anything except another Mammoth.  Spend your crystals on MU's for Damage and Turning Speed instead.  And don't MU gear that you rarely use; the improvement will never pay for itself.

Generally, the first 2-3 levels of MU are worth it.  Don't go much beyond that unless you're swimming in crystals; with each MU, the cost goes up and the benefit goes down.  Definitely wait for sales to do the more expensive MU's.

if micro upgrade damage what do i need to upgrade?

The first few steps are good with any parameter. You can do impact force and turning speed. They are very useful.

I'm MUing my m3 smoky and I don't regret at all.

I mainly use smoky on wasp, so I need it to be fast, effective and also good as defence weapon.

- Fast: wasp is very weak, so I need a quick reload time in order to shoot more;

- Effective: having a bigger damage means much when your HP are limited, so it's important to increase the chances to kill quickly before getting killed;

- Defence weapon: it's important on smoky to have a bigger impact force in order to make your opponents lose aim on you (obviously on medium and long range guns and on light and medium hulls).

I'm testing it right now and I must say that impact force isn't less important than the damage or the critical shot, but it needs a stable hull and wasp isn't stable at all, so I'm MUing the weight of my hull to gain stability.

So, my objective is MUing all the parameters except for rotantion speed and range. About the impact force, I will upgrade it till the hull can keep the balance without tail-tipping.

When you fully-micro-upgrade a parameter, how much percent discount does it give? Is each parameter different?

If you google Micro Upgrades and go on Tanki Wiki it will tell you about the discounts you get on the next upgrade from MUs.
