Let's Discuss Micro-Upgrades!

M3s are super OP at even my rank, so it doesn't really matter how much before you can feasibly get M3s. At that point the relative power of those tanks is extremely ridiculous. To give you an idea, I have no M3s right now, but I am creaming just about everyone else my rank with only a Firebird M2 (33/50 on MUs) and a fully MUd Wasp M1. I imagine that M3 tanks at that rank would be devastating.

Are you talking about me? :P

Anyway, since rebalance and all that, I'll just stay lt colonel until a new batch of lt colonels come. Thunder M3 will be op after update

i only micro upgrade my hulls not my turrets due to the protection increasing and i mostly do it on m1s that unlock in a while like mammoth m1 or titan but not hornet and hulls like that and honestly there good if u save and only MU on hulls. For example if u had m1 dictator and it was 0/50 micro upgrades, and gold dropped so u upgraded it 2 times. that 2 times may be another 1 or 2 seconds which in a gold may be all u need to left to get the gold box. so IMO its only worth micro upgraded hulls not turrets because turrets only increas about 0.1 so which isnt worth the price AT ALL. im making this with little free time so  :P if its not perfect

I think there should be a new kind of personal discount for MUs as well as turrets and hulls (since many people use a specific kind of combo). It would be in the range of 20% off to 50% off and would apply to all the MUs a person purchases for a limited time (20%, 25%, 30%, 35%,...,50%). There should be some sort of monitor to tell what turret and hull the user uses most frequently (this is easy, since the information is readily available in the rankings pages of the players). You can simply have a variable store the greatest XP value for turret and then another one for the hull, and then have it updated after a certain period of time. You can then randomly have a personal discount for MUs for either of these two items (most commonly used turret or most commonly used hull). I believe this new MU feature will prove to be more helpful in some cases than an upgrade on the next version of a turret or hull that the player hardly uses.

Respectfully,

nice if htis is ever added ima buy and get m2 mammoth at staff seargent  :P

Will there be a MU sale in November?

Probably not since i dont know of any real reason to. Never expect the devs to do random sales, but make sure your prepared in case they do do one(have lots of spare cry)(even mu sales)

You see the number of MU of the enemy tank by pressing R or V key.

he may have meant the specific mu for each stat, tho that was removed almost exactly a year ago.. im still pissed about that.. so many cry wasted...

When will Tanki update the Micro-upgrades wiki page so it displays the correct parameters and costs for each MU?

You don't have to wait for them. You can approximate it. The cost per step increases by a constant amount. Say the first step costs 10 crystals, and the second step costs 505 crystals (this is just an example). Step 10 costs 9 * (505 - 10) + 10. Also the value of the parameter at step 10 will be roughly the (max value - the min value) / 50 * step number + min value.

It is only worth upgrading the first few steps for M0-2.

Actually the difference increases as well by 10 every few MUs. This is unfortunately not constant.

Yeah, iv tried working out the formula for it but im nit really all that motivated to :P

It does seem to have a certain randomness to it though...

You do not need to work it out to the crystal. If you are off by 50 crystals, who cares?

Microupgrades are pointless in my opinion and just a way for tanki to make you spend crystals. I reguarly get destroyed by tankers with no microupgrades or even M2 equipment because they are drugging non-stop. If anyone reading this is thinking of microupgrading then seriously, don't bother. My tank is almost M4 and it counts for nothing.

I personally think that spending 184,175 crystals to micro upgrade M1 Freeze to M2, is definitely worth it, especially considering how OP M2 Freeze is.

Micro Upgrades are a way for buyers to get a massive advantage over non-buyers. Problem?

You can definitely play without MUs and still win, provided that you have superior skill. But MUs do give quite a significant improvement overall, so it's worth investing into them, especially at M4. I would say that the average free player should get their M0 and M1 equipment to no more than 15 steps each, M2 to 20-25, while M3 all the way to 50. Although I would rather have a selection of different M3 turrets and hulls to choose from than a single M4 turret+hull combo that I have to always play with.

I have to say though, one of the primary reasons for adding MUs was definitely to get players to spend more money on the game, as MUs simply reduce balance between buyers and free players and don't even add anything interesting to the game.

Just kidding ...

Mafioso is so right, at M3 level it gives you huge advantage over other players. If you are free to play scheme, then rather waste your crystals to MU-s than drugs as MU's are permanent, drugs are just boost of your ego for short term.

Believe me, if I Mued M2 Twins 25 times I'd be a broke man.

I bought an entire kit with an m3 with probs less crystals. IMO everything but M3 should get AT MOST 10. M3 should get 35-45

That's assuming that you plan to play the game for a long time. MUs are a long-term investment and it will take a while for them to pay off. It's much better to buy supplies and be able to double your power most of the time if you don't plan on spending years upgrading your equipment.

Micro Upgrade are worth it if you play NO Drug Pro battles with MUs on , but even a M4 doesn't stand a chance against a M2 Firebird with Alteration that is drugged its just the way it is. But....... M4s drugged? Get the hell outta there. Just start saving up drugs so (say save them for a month. Then at the end of that month go on a All Out Drugging Spree)
