Let's Discuss Micro-Upgrades!

Recommended Posts

My bad, I was mistaken. You are right if you MU all the way up, it will be way more expensive than buying directly the next modification (Just checked on the wiki). Although it will be more expensive, if you MU all the way up, you'll just get 100% discount on the next modification.

I apologize for my error, thanks for reminding me.

Don't read my post, it was a mistake from me.

Here is an example of Railgun MU stats. http://en.tankiwiki.com/Micro-upgrades_Railgun#Micro-upgrades_Railgun_.D0.9C3

For m3- m4 without speedups it will take 94d 23h 35m.

Yeah.... i ended up fully mu-ing Rico M0 and dictator M0 before i was even WO5.... worst choices iv ever made on this account..... of course, the devs just HAD to make Mu-ing even WORSE for the people who arnt M3 too... i spent like 75k on Dictator M1 -_-

..... I was broke until i got lucky during a sale

Why is this topic even here tbh? Theres really not much to discuss about mu-ing anymoe :/

Let me sum up everything in this topic since that big mu update that made mu into the 50 step crap: Dont mu until M3 unless you have deep pockets, though you CAN do like 7 upgrades average on anything below M3, but even that isnt recommended unless theres a mu sale

Now MUing from M0 to M1 just got a whole lot cheaper (if you are smart and don't do any speedups at all)! Going from M0 to M1, same price as M1 itself, and you get it for free when you're done! Fantastic if you're a Sergeant with Thunder M0 who has the funds but doesn't want to rank up 10 times for Thunder M1. I only wish they could do this for higher-modification guns as well. :( 50 steps is some kind of Chinese torture. Make M4 more reachable for players who have the patience, and leave the speedups more expensive for rich players who want it *now*.

I had a few turrets at 20/50 and thought it wouldn't be too expensive to get one to M4. Then I used the microupgrade spreadsheet and found it will cost me over half a million crystals!!!

I have a comment:

It is sad to micro-upgrade something that is not for your rank that you cant actually fully get at the end.

If i have twins m1 and i want m2 and i am second lieutenant, i fully micro it, i cant get the color or look of it because its not or my rank, its locked

if anyone has a way to get xp faster pls tell me ;)

If you want experience fast - buy an Isida and use it to heal team-mates. Vulcan's on Titan/Mammoth are best because they keep damaging themselves while firing continuously. You want tanks that don't die in one shot - else you have no one to heal.

If I not be wrong ,Railgun m3'last step costs only around 48k ( if I not be wrong I said) ,which is totally low price ,

Are you proud of that?  -_-  I mean one step for almost 50k crystals, not to mention how much speeding up that one step costs? Tooo much in my opinion but MU every step once in sales without using the speed-up is great tho but other than that, I don't think it is cheaper but normal I would say.

Why didn't you just tell me that there was already a table for micro upgrades? :P

But Srsly, it took me all day to create that.

Lol, I thought you already know it. Anyway, still what you wrote was useful so I decided to merge it instead of closing your topic as you worked hard on it regardless of how much time it took you. All the links are on the first page but you did good as well. Have a great time. :)

Ok, thanx :)

And I guess I got a taste of what the devs have to deal with everyday :D

While learning how to make a table and a spoiler.

old micro upgrade took double crystals and less speed up crystal.but with 50% off on mu and 70% (almost all the event) it was quite okay unless those people who dont wait for discount.

New micro upgrade take half the crystal that it used to but wow since the update Mu discount never been more than 25%,even in tanki birtday.and speed up is 50%.which is freaking crazy the cost of speed up now than previous one.

So,its all the same for most of us even with 50% reduction in mu cost. And its an crazy idea to use speed up now which was quite popular before.

So,in the end it looks like tanki did a hell of a job but they actually did nothing for the most players but made their fortune for those who are using speed ups still now(obviously those rich kids ).

nope, they made it better for those who dont want to use speedups.

now, doing MUs without speedups is the same as buying the item full price

for m2s, if you do the first 5 steps full price (without SU ofc) and then the last 5 steps on sales (without SU), you can get a m3 turret much earlier than marshal and for a bit cheaper than full price.

This gives a good advantage in battle which you can use to recoup the lost crystals when you spent more crystals than the item would have cost at a flat 50% discount.

for m3s, you can do the first 10 MUs without sales since they are not too expensive, then do 1 MU at a time on sales without SU.

Without SU, how long are those last 10 M3 steps going to take? You'll need at least 10 diff sales as you'll never get more than one per sale.

And I'm thinking you are actually going to miss some sales for last couple...

If you asked me what a cost effective way of getting plenty of variety of different equipment and still have plenty of crystals. Here's my suggestion:

When you start from recruit, the M0 equipment you should get are thunder, magnum, and Vulcan, and maybe hammer. If you need protection, get a single module.

When you get into the M1 ranks, the M1s you should invest in are mammoth, firebird, titan, smoky, wasp, shaft, Viking, magnum, striker, and twins (with the stable plasma alteration) but you should wait for sales at this point, while you wait for sales, you should save up your crystals and earn more crystals.

For M2s, get freeze, isida, hornet, Vulcan, dictator, railgun, Hunter, thunder, hammer, mammoth and maybe even striker, and if needed get some triple protections, obviously through sales.

At m3s, choose what you like and get it first, sales again.

I have a question. When you microupgrade an item fully, you get its next modification for free at the unlock rank. So what if you can't finish the micro upgrades in time? Can you fully upgrade the item after the unlock rank of its next modification, and still get the next modification for free? Thank you.

You can still get that modification of the item a few ranks after the unlock rank.

On my noob acc, tere2, I have 5/10 Smoky M1 and 6/10 Twins M0.  It is rank Staff Sergeant. Should I keep MUing Twins since it will take less time and then MU Smoky later or MU Smoky first which will take longer but be more beneficial?

I would keep MUing smoky, since it's M1 and it would make big difference in those ranks if you make it fully MU.

I agree with @I3est, I myself have an account just a couple of ranks above you, it has smoky M1.8. I can tell you man, it's a killer at these ranks, keep on MUing Smoky, you won't regret it ;)

At low ranks you should stick to smoky+hunter save up for an early m1 kit like keeper and then continue saving up with farming with a kit like keeper until you buy an expensive m1 kit thats worth it if they are none buy expensive m1s on sale, and then save for m2s the early m2 kits are not that great so save up for a good m2 kit during the longer waiting time u can upgrade ur expensive m1 or m1 kit or even buy an early m2 if you can afford it after you buyer your m2 kit you can buy a 2 or 3 more m2s maximum if needed and then save for m3 kits or MU your m2 combo step by step, after you reach m3 kit rank you can basically buy anything you want and you have time to even save for another m3 kit during the time it takes to get to marshal if you want and at marshal all m3s are unlocked, buy all m3s you want and think about m4 and modules at later ranks, you will be experienced enough to choose what you want by then.
