Server problems?

Recommended Posts

I continually have problems that I believe are server/client related (especially after watching V-log #3).

In game, other tanks, both my team & enemy, "jump around" the screen - in front of me one second, then somewhere else on screen, & occasionally they reappear back in front of me. This "rubberbanding" negatively effects gameplay. I don't think it's a browser issue, although I do get a lot of lag.

If it helps: my system is Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, Intel Core 2 Duo @3GHz, and 8 GB of RAM. It's connected via DSL at 10MBS. All drivers are up to date. My video card is stock, drivers read as Intel Q45/Q43 Express Chipset. My flash version is 14.0.0.125. I usually use the Chrome browser, but experience the issue worse if I use Firefox.

Will this be addressed soon? I'm in the United States, and I don't think we don't have any dedicated servers here.

Also - How do you know if you're connected to a server in Europe or South America? When I log in it simply lists 50 servers & the number of people there, with no info on where that server is, ping time, etc. Is this indeed a server/client communication issue, like I suspect? How can I address that? Will there be U.S. servers added, like for Brazil?

I'm assuming the flags on the top right (beside the help icon) of the log-in screen are for language - or are those server choices?

I'm also curious if any servers are dedicated to a specific language, and if so, why they aren't labeled? I asked another English speaking player who told me that server 44 is "English speaking", but I find a mix of languages on every server I go to. Some players claim certain servers are "Russian only", and get somewhat hostile because I cannot type in Russian. But I see no way to identify any "preferred language" listed for any server, unless that's the one on the log-in screen, in which case I've never clicked anything but the Brit flag.

...and I did everything it said to do & it's gotten worse. In Serpuhov CTF today, tanks be would right in front of me, then across the map. Multiple times. I drove over the enemy flag FOUR times before it picked it up. Then out of literally nowhere 3 enemy tanks just popped up right beside me, when a split second before they were very far away. Tanki's video log #3 CLEARLY stated that this kind of problem is a server/client issue, not a "lag" thing. (Mods, have you watched that?) So, instead of directing me to pages I've already read & performed the steps for, how about actually looking at the problem? Maybe fixing it? You gave Brazilians their own servers - how about some USA servers?

Addendum: I have done everything a third time. I uninstalled Flash, & re-installed version 13.0.0.223.  I've turned off all the graphics stuff in the settings. My hardware acceleration is on. I tried playing using Firefox, but it said I don't have Flash installed at all (even though I do) & prompted me to download the latest version (which you say is buggy with your game - why not just have the programmers make it compatible with the new Flash version like most gaming companies do?). I cannot add the plug-in for v13.0.0.223 either.

Still no change. My teammate is in front of me, then behind me, then in front, then beside me, all in a matter of 20 seconds time. FPS & Ping are good however. Tanks will be in one place, then >bam< halfway across the map. It makes playing nearly impossible. If I knew how to take video I'd do so just so you can see what I mean.

I also play Perfect World International, which is MUCH more graphics heavy than Tanki, and I have no problems at all. I don't want to have to quit playing Tanki - I've already bought crystals twice with my hard earned paycheck, but what's the use if the game is so buggy?
