[Guide] XP/BP Paint Rules in pictures

 Share

Recommended Posts

Everybody who plays XP and/or BP knows there are (unofficial) Paint-rules you should follow.

To make things more easy I made these rules visible in the pictures below.

(if you want to know all about XP, you should take a look at Hogree 's excellent XP Guide!

link: http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=188485#entry3363100)

First, the six standard XP/BP Paints: Forester, Corrosion, Emerald, Sandstone, Savanna and Tundra.

Every upgrade of a Hornet or Wasp should use an appropriate one: which one can be seen in the pictures below.

The only exception is the Hornet M3 which should be used without any Railprotective paint.

Secondly, two pictures of Railprotective paints you should be well aware of!

They are Clay (30%) and Picasso (25%) which are on paper allowed on a Hornet M1 or Wasp M1,

but in reality you will not see these M1 combo 's.

So take notice: if you see one of these two paints you are most likely dealing with an XP offender.

Finally pictures of Prodigi (46%!) and Digital (35%!) who are always forbidden in XP!

Allowed on M1 Hornet and M1 Wasp, max. 30% protection:

Allowed on M2 Hornet and M2 Wasp, max. 20% Railprotection (meaning NO ^Tundra!) :

^ Hornet M2 and Wasp M2 - Sandstone with 20% Railprotection

^ Hornet M2 and Wasp M2 - Savanna with 20% Railprotection

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Allowed on M3 Hornet, NO Railprotection at all!

Allowed on M3 Wasp, max. 10% Railprotection:

^ Wasp M3 - Forester with 10% Railprotection

^ Wasp M3 - Emerald with 10% Railprotection

^ Wasp M3 - Corrosion with 10% Railprotection

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next two paints Clay and Picasso are only allowed on a Hornet M1 or a Wasp M1!

These are also two very unlikely combo 's but I especially wanted to mention them to make you aware of

these two less known (high percentage) Railprotection paints!

Clay and Picasso are Never Allowed on Hornet M2 and M3 and also Never Allowed on Wasp M2 and M3!

^ Very unlikely combo, but allowed on only Hornet M1 and Wasp M1 - Clay with 30% Railprotection

^ Very unlikely combo, but allowed on only Hornet M1 and Wasp M1 - Picasso with 25% Railprotection

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prodigi and Digital are Always Strictly Forbidden! in XP battles:

^ Digital with 35%! Railprotection! Not Allowed!

Was a joke ._.

Would you be offended if I said the joke is terrible?

But anyways, this is a great thread that gives people an insight of combos that are and aren't allowed; good job!

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Before the new update 270 there was a "Paint-issue" with the slightly nerfed Hornet M3.

To prevent it from the very small chance of being one-shotted there were players using
a 10% Railprotective paint (Forester, Corrosion or Emerald).

With Update 270 the Hornet 's Protection got increased! (the Hornet M3 goes from 159 to 166 HP):

М0 82,3529   М1 115,4412   М2 133,8235   М3 159,5588   М3+ 200,0000
Up.png 82,9412    Up.png 118,6765    Up.png 138,5294   Up.png 166,3235      Up.png 210,0000

Good news! With this Update 270 the chance of being one-shotted is back to zero.
So in an XP battle there 's no excuse to use a paint with railprotection on a Hornet M3 anymore.

Time to go back to a good looking non-railprotective paint, for example this one:

Edited into Section of Article containing "Basic Lists of Protections in XP Battles". Note that M3 Hornets need not use 10% protection anymore, due to the recent balancing.

"For more information on this, please take a look at Lord-of-the-Snipers' article, which can be seen here. This displays a visual look on what can be used and what cannot be used in an XP Battle. "

My big thanks and regards to Hogree who has edited a link to this "XP/ BP rules in pictures" into his own excellent

"The Comprehensive Guide to XP [Hornet-Railgun] Battles".

Rail m1+ wasp/hornet m1+clay  REALLY!? But very good job :D

Indeed, it would be a very strange sight to see for example a Generalissimo with such a M1 XP/BP combo with Clay!

However in theory it is possible. Really! :D

The main reason I mentioned Picasso and Clay is to warn players.

If you see these paints in a XP/BP battle you are most likely dealing with a "paint offender".

Most "paint-offenders" will ofcourse use Prodigi (made in Tanki heaven and stolen by three-shot crooks) or Digital.

Or they will use Tundra on M2 's or even M3 's and have an eloborate explanation why théy are allowed to use it...

Eehm.. i was thinking... Wasp has more speed than hornet and with his 10% protection even the same health! So i would go for the wasp :-)

(After this article i was like ''oh no, i can never use my digital for XP, why didn't i buy Sandstone??'') XD
