[Guide] XP/BP Paint Rules in pictures

Recommended Posts

Eehm.. i was thinking... Wasp has more speed than hornet and with his 10% protection even the same health! So i would go for the wasp :-)

(After this article i was like ''oh no, i can never use my digital for XP, why didn't i buy Sandstone??'') XD

Digital is still a good paint in the regular battles and you can enhance it further with some micro-upgrades.

The Sandstone, if only used for XP 's doesn 't need MU 's, so if bought during a 50% discount it is relatively cheap.

And Blackopspaul: thanks!

After having some experiences with Wasp M1/Digital in XP/BP battles, I think Digital should replace Tundra for M1 Wasp. With Digital I am always a 2 shot, never 3. I have even been one-hit-KOed a few times by M3s. So Tundra actually doesn't seem like enough, but Digital isn't too much.

There was already some discussion about this in the "Let 's Dicuss XP Battles!" topic.

Will definitely need more confirmation before I change it in this Guide.

XP is still unofficial and compared to the Prodigi equiped, anything else than Hornet/Wasp-Rail M3 combo 's you

will meet in many spoiled XP 's, a 35-30=5% exceeding with Digital of the unofficail XP paint rules seems like a minor

offence.

In the end it 's your own decision.

Who could have m1 rail/hornet and clay paint :P

I suppose a Generalissimo hooked on heavy equipment, who one day decides to give that small drifty thing

and that nasty Star Wars gun a try :P

I would love to see more people follow this guide, but feel like I need to correct you on a couple points here.

1. Wasp M1 should have an allowance of 35%. Tundra still may only require one shot from M3 Rails. I don't know if this is your mistake or a general misconception because I see it a lot.

2. Do not rule out Prodigi or Picasso so quick. I recently played a Hill XP battle. An Arabian Generalissimo was on the opposite team, wearing Prodigi. We conducted a test with our M1 Railgun. It only took 2 shots. He was a funny guy and told us that he'd never used Hornet, which meant it was still M0, but wanted it now to expand his garage and start playing more XP.

Still a great guide though.

Where did you get the official information that those paints are allowed? XP/BP is still unofficial so we players seem to make up

the rules all by ourselves. I am just copying info I found spread around on the Forum.

"I don't know if this is your mistake or a general misconception because I see it a lot." Is this your own opinion or do you

have more and other information?

On point 2. you mention the Generalissimo is using Hornet M0. XP 's are IMO simply not the place for Hornet and Wasp M0 's!

They are not even mentioned in the XP paint lists I know off.

Most XP players even the low-ranked who use M1 hulls won 't be pleased with such a slow M0 hull in their team.

Prodigi: no

On point 1. you could have a point with Digital on a Wasp M1. To be honest: I don 't have a clue.

As said before first I need more confirmation and this coming from multiple sources.

Btw. it 's only a minor offence, IF it is one. So I leave it up to the players themselves if they want to use Digital on a Wasp M1.

Regulations of format battles with railgun by

1. Battle;
1.1. If the battle name mentions «ХР» or «хоререльса», it does not mean that you can enter the battle with Wasp + Railgun and expect everyone to be content with that. This also applies to other formats such as “BP”, “ВЖ”, “ДК/ДКР”…
1.2. When seeing chaos upon entering a format battle, don’t start shooting until you actually get shot. Instead it’s better to first try and understand the situation.
1.3. If your flag isn’t at your base when you enter a format battle and you want to return it whatever it takes, first find out why the flag isn’t in its place and then start a war if you feel it is necessary.
1.4. It is strictly prohibited to take/capture flags before the battle starts, i.e. until both teams are complete with players (2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3 etc.)
1.5. Don’t collect supply boxes before the “go” command from both sides. Both teams should be at equal conditions when the battle starts!
1.6. If one or more players exits/re-enters a battle, all remaining players must write “stop” in chat and seize fire. It is also wise to state the number of players remaining in your team. E.g. if it’s a 4 vs 4 battle and one player leaves, you write “stop, 3” in chat.
1.7. If one or more players leave during flag exchange, both flags are to be returned to the owner, i.e. brought back to their base and dropped. If both teams agree to do so, you can start the battle with the flags already exchanged once both teams are full again.
1.8. Some specific maps have prohibitions set by players, such as not being allowed to self-destruct by jumping off the edge on the Island map. It’s best to follow those rules, otherwise you may be asked to leave and may be subjected to Railgun Therapy*
1.9. 1. When M3 Railguns are present in the battle, protection paints are allowed for light hulls weaker than Hornet M3. The maximum resistance level is sometimes stated in the battle name: “XP-K/BP+10%” means Hornet Railgun with no paint and Wasp Railgun with maximum 10% Railgun resistance paint.
1.9.2. The full list of hull modifications and the resistance paint allowed on them:
a) Wasp M2 – 20% resistance (10% is allowed): Forester, Rust, Emerald, Sandstone, Savanna.
cool.png Hornet M2 – 20% resistance: Savanna, Sandstone.
c) Wasp M3 – no resistance (10% sometimes allowed): Forester, Rust, Emerald
d) Hornet M3 – no resistance.

2. Awaiting players
2.1.  Before the battle starts make sure that your own and the other team are all ready for battle. Don’t just press tab to check, make them all reply in chat or go to the other base and see if all tanks loaded and are not AFK.
2.2.  In a format battle it is allowed to shoot back at a player from the other team if that player is continually shooting you before the “go” command is given or the teams are not full. The two of you can continue dueling before the battle starts, but make sure not to disturb other players.
2.3.  In a format battle it is allowed to shoot any players, who’s equipment does not fit the battle requirements until they leave the battle or change their equipment to a correct combo.
2.4.  Before the battle starts it’s rude and disrespectful to shoot players who have overturned, whether was is accidental or on purpose. They might not like that and start shooting you back after respawn.
2.5.  If you are winning with a big flag difference and most of the other players leave, it is acceptable to capture the remaining flags without the other team’s approval (if some still remain), however it is more polite to ask them first. You can try and wait for the losing team to fill with new players again, but it is highly unlikely and may take a long time. It is often better to finish the game and start over.
2.6. If the opposing team left near the end of a long battle, capturing the rest of the flags to reset the map is allowed.
2.7. If no players enter a battle for a long time, it is recommended to exit and post the battle link in the chat a couple times.

3. Information in team chat (press T instead of enter)
You can inform other players in your team about the events happening in battle, which they don’t see and will find useful to know, such as:
• L2 – two enemies on the left
• C 1 rail – 1 tank on the center, who was previously shot and will take 1 more shot to kill
• F, ff – problems at base, the flag is about to be taken with a high chance of it being driven out of the base. Number of f’s can be used to represent level of danger.
• R 1 DA rail – 1 tank on the right has double armour and received 1 or more hits
• Corner DD – there is a double damage box on the corner
• House – there is a sniper behind the building (for sandbox)
• L full – an enemy is approaching on the left with at least two boosts (DA/DD/nitro)
And so on…

4. Playing as a team
• Don’t block your teammates’ path
• Don’t collect drops when you are damaged if there is a teammate with full hp nearby
• Do collect drops to prevent the enemy team members getting them
• Collect drops on the enemy base even if it will cost you your life
• Don’t collect a drop if you already have that type activated and there is a teammate near you
• Stay away from your teammates when attacking because they might stop to shoot and if you crash into them you might ruin their aim and make them miss
• Get out of the way of teammates carrying the enemy flag
• Get in the way of enemies carrying your flag
• Try to block the path with your dead tank so that enemies can’t pass
• Do not kill overturned enemies
• Do kill overturned team members when friendly fire is on, but make sure no enemies are nearby so that you aren’t left defenseless while you reload.
• Drop the flag for a teammate with more hp to collect, but first make sure no enemies are approaching so that they won’t be able to return the flag while your teammate goes to collect it.

5. Dictionary:
• XP (ХореРельса) = HR (Hornet Railgun)
• BP (ВаспоРельса) = WR (Wasp Railgun)
• ДР/ДКР (ДикоРельса) = DR (Dictator Railgun)
• ВЖ (ВаспоЖига) = WF (Wasp Firebird)
• Го = go
• Ф = flag
• Стоп = stop
• Выйди = leave
• Краску офф = remove paint
• По б/ по базам = return to your base
• Довоз = capture remaining flags

Since most players are Russian, it can help if you say "I don't speak Russian" or "I speak English" or "Я не говорю по-русски, пишите мне по-английски" in chat to let Russian speaking players know that it's no use swearing at you in Russian and to help English speaking players know that they can communicate with you.

Note: “Railgun Therapy” is a process where all members of one team focus their fire on a team member of the other team, who is violating the format game rules and refusing to correct themselves. The normal players of the team, which has the violator, remain at rest and do not shoot the other team. The team performing Railgun Therapy only shoots the violator. This makes it impossible for the violator to play and eventually they will leave.

Translation by

Also draw your attention that the violation of certain points of these rules, you can be convicted of contravening Section 2.1.13 of the Rules, after treatment of players with the command / voice.

(2.1.13. Other forms of unsporting behavior that hinder the normal game process which will be recognized as such by the Administration.)

Thanks ALEXBOKA!

This is a good addition to this guide. :)

These automated interpreters do a fair job, but they 're still not as good as a human translator.

So hopefully someone can translate the original Russian text to English without an interpreter so it

will be even better!

This "guide" will not be updated even if needed.

If someone feels it should be updated and is serious about it than plz. take it over from me.

Reason being that I simply have too much fun in regular battles after the Smart Cooldown,

to get frustrated again and again by trying to find a good unruined XP battle.

Or even worse finding a good one that next gets ruined during the battle.

Tanki is trying at the moment to make it better by some sort of moderation AFAIK, but in my view that simply won 't work.

Certainly not with the delicated (unofficial) rules in an XP/BP.

It 's too bad, because I really would love to combine regular and XP battles.

I do admire the perseverance of the Tankers that keep on playing XP/BP and thus keeping

the dream of an official XP/BP gamemode alive.

Nothing better IMO than a good XP where everyone does their best to follow the rules!

Maybe one day there will be that official XP/BP gamemode: the very same day this guide becomes totally obsolete...

and also the very same day I will be buying that Pro Battle pass! ;)
