A Study on Druggers (or why they are so annoying)

Drugging ehrn golf box drop - part of the game. Druggin non stop is just nonsense, stupid and non mature. U wanna do this - fine,. go f yourself. Today, 5 battles, 5 left, 5 times because of drugger. And i had ratio bigger than 3.0 . However, last time, i asked one guy  - why do u drug if we`re winning ? He said - don`t know, mayby for fun. So go fun yourself, i`ll gibe it a 1 week rest. After that, if it won`t change, WoT till December. U wanna join them? Go ahead.

I'd like to preface my argument condoning 'druggers' by first responding to yours. I agree druggers affect gameplay negatively, that is beyond question. Their use of drugs makes each game less enjoyable and competitive. However, the arguments you posted from the opposing position are a total straw man fallacy, making the druggers out to be some immature, senseless kids. I don't appreciate that tactic and it is not how arguments should be conducted. Additionally, this is hardly a 'study' considering you didn't apply the scientific method AT ALL, but i digress.

 

I'd like to make three points in my argument condoning druggers.

 

Firstly, in team battles, druggers are actually good teammates. They are competent players, who actively work to support the team. If one were to argue "But they dominate the team, taking a larger share of the battle fund!", I would respond by saying that the drugger is nonetheless assisting the team in achieving victory. That is the only imperative they must satisfy. Further, consider alternative players. Its been my experience that the vast majority of players of or around my rank are completely incompetent players who have no concept of teamwork. I'll gladly take a strategic, competent drugger over a common mindless player.

 

Secondly, druggers aren't the only pests in this situation. It is the truly endless remarks we get from other players such as "Noob drugger!!", or "stop drugging noobs!". These players must understand that 1.) the druggers will unlikely cease drugging because of their comments and 2.) that repeating the statement will not be any more effective than previous statements. Either leave the game or be more mature.

 

Lastly, drugging supports Tanki. We all understand that Tanki is a business with developers, servers, and consultants among many other costs. With this, it must also be recognized that the game of Tanki is entirely contingent on the business of Tanki. Tanki will only continue to exist if the game continues to generate revenue. Drugging entails payment. I hope this point doesn't require more explanation.

 

In summary, druggers are annoying, but they should be condoned. Their gameplay has pros and cons as do all other players.

I'll gladly listen to cogent arguments in opposition to my own.

Not all druggers are noobs, they just use them to cover up their lack of it or to get fast exp or crystals.  I remember fully drugging and using a health kit to get 10 crystals. I REALLY need crystals to buy something that was on sale. But as soon as I got the amount of crystals I needed, I stop. 

 

But I can tell you who are noob druggers. It goes as following:

 

A) Someone who drugs when they are flipped. It's just stupid to do so. (Unless you are about to get killed by who or what you hate. For me it's someone who doesn't turn their turret with some kit. Just makes me want to hang myself)

 

  B) Someone who drugs as soon as soon as they spawn and or when they see a weaker tank then theirs. E.G I was in a Serphov match with this kit buying First Sergeant. He saw a  M0 Wasp/Rail completely turned around and fully drugged to kill him. If he was smart he would've joined the battle and ran around a bit seeing who could hurt him how much. The same Rail hit my M0 hornet and took out 50% of my health. Not MU'ed. That's just being idiotic.

 

C) Someone with lower grade weapons and a lower rank who join high rank battles and think they can wreck them. E.G. A few months ago I was in an Arena DM which had a limit of 100 kills. I was a WO5 back then with M1 Thunder/Wasp/Cedar. I had 60 kills when this WO2 with M0Thunder/M1 Viking/Storm jiond and started drugging. The lowest score prior to him joining was around 30 kills. So he did what he was doing, getting some kills until I had enough. Even though I still killed him on drugs, I didn't want him to get others and catch up to me. So I pulled out my stash and won. I got 600 while he got 200. 

Now this is an amateur move because A) He had lower grade equipment joining a high rank battle. B) because he didn't even judge the battle, taking into account the limits, score of other players etc.  And C don't you think that people with twice the exp with you might have drugs of their own????

 

All of this is what I think a nooby drugger looks/acts like

This thing were you said about people drugging a soon as they spawn is what I happend run into 85% of the battles I go to, they are so annoying in death matches and just about every type of battle. Drugs and druggeres are part of the game though but strategy against them (in game, not real life brutality) is part of the game to, right? (not somthing like hacking though) also say this to a drugger : "drugging is not worth it because you are only getting about 100 cyrstals and using a drug is like 50 crystals used up (as they cost 50 in shop and first aids are 150 crystals). also see a drugger, tell every one in death match to team on them

I never used to drug earlier till the rank of major. But I observed that druggers used to join my battles having high fund and used to just take it away in minutes.. Wasting my hours of hardwork and gameplay. Then I was angry and bought 1000 supplies kit.. Now people leave the battles where I join.. Its a great feeling..lol :)

Hey,

 

I'm not a drugger, I do play with them but I try to keep away from them. :P

 

First things, you could play up to 10 hours of Tanki and at least once you would run into a drugger using drugs non stop.

 

Secondly, you earn drugs by playing the game daily ect, and you expect people to hoard them of course they are going to use them.

 

If you really don't want to run into druggers, you can always join pro-battles or make one.

 

It is bad to see druggers in a match its like you winning £100000 then someone slowly takes it away.

 

If you actually want to beat them at there own game, either use your own drugs or see where they drop in the map, I'm sure you'd be able to get a bunch within 10 secs.

 

Because I'm a big rail user, I just tend to use double power then kill the drugger. :) Makes me feel like the king :D :P

 

What I tend to do is, join a battle then press tab, if someone has 22 kills with only 6 deaths, I first go and find them, second, if they are druggers I just leave. No point really....

 

Yes we all hate druggers and yes we probs have all drugged at least once. But when you play 5 battles in a row and there isn't a single drugger in them, it will be the greatest day of your life. :P

I find this whole topic kinda pointless to be honest.

 

Firstly, drugs are part of the game and a fair part too. Everyone has access to them. I think the hate for druggers comes from the fact that they were on the receiving end of the treatment... You DO realise you CAN drug back...

 

Secondly, there are a fair few assumptions that are simply wrong? Not all buyers are druggers. I don't buy, but if I receive 50 drugs in my daily bonus you expect me to never use them?

 

Not all druggers are noobs. I don't know where you got that assumption from... Everyone receives drugs. If you don't make use of them you are a fool, no? But according to you if you use them you're a noob?

 

If they were really noob, why don't you just drug back and win then?

 

Of course, you get druggers who are noons, but that doesn't make all druggers noobs.. I don't see where you found the logic to assume that

The storm will be on until tanki shuts down for some reason what so ever, hope that does not happend, I have a good time in tanki fourms and games with some realy good friends(well when the druggers are not there).

Well you have a point but drugs are there to be used . When a drugger comes i check if he is a hardcore drugger if not i just go on with the battle, if yes i try to drug back or shame him out of using drugs . But when all else fails I call my kit buying friends :ph34r:  :D  :ph34r:   :D .

Well, yeah, drugs are there to be used. But I think they were there for specific reasons; if you need to get away faster, you use N20, if you are about to die and you have the flag, you use First Aid, if need to get past mines or are going through a field of enemy tanks, use Double armor, etc(not necessarily in these situations). But it is just unnecessary to spam the drug buttons every time you spawn, or full out drug when you get mad or feel like you don't deserve to die..

I think druging is unfair to non druggers. The power ups are not for continual use. I use them from time to time but not all three at once.

Wow, I post a lot on this topic. Moving on, I have did the 2,3,4 a few times but only in these few times:

 

- I just joined a battle were the team was previosly out numbered until I came. One of there tanks

M1 items and I was stuck with M0 stuff back then. I drugged to even the battle but then the wining guy said "oh druugs" and left.

- I was in a battle were the amount of players was balanced, but one of there players was drugging in which I had to drug back so the original drugger would not feel good about winning the death match.

 

I also drugged other times but for a reason but I never drugged just to get in top of a list
