A Study on Druggers (or why they are so annoying)

Drugging is fun, admit it, you have went on full drug mode at least once before haven't you? You're talking like you've never drugged in your entire Tanki career. Druggers give us challenge at times (but most of the times annoyance) but it's really satisfying when you and your team can repel them/make them quit.

 

 

But they DONT quit! they dont stop coming and usually there are more than one drugger in a match! And yes, i have drugged before, we all have. I DONT drug every time i spawn in a battle, nor do i waste my money buying kits and drugs.

So anyways, just a small thing, sometimes druggers can drug nonstop for these reasons:

• They need fast crystals (All right, you spend crystals to buy drugs but have you forgotten daily gifts? A friend of mine only plays on weekends and collects his daily gifts during the week so he can drug all of them on the weekends. Seems fair because due to restricted time, he doesn't have enough chances to make crystals like the rest of us do.) So it seems slightly fair
• They need fast exp 
• Sometimes, they'll only drug for 1 game (That's me only sometimes, a drug war pops up and suddenly I turn into the most lethal player on the battlefield, not to brag but m2 fire/m2 vik is pretty strong)

Not all druggers are noob you know, a few pretty skilled druggers (most generallissimos are pretty skilled) will be simply more dangerous than the average drugger. 

 

Actually, there is no most effective weapon nowadays against druggers. Due to the expanded powers of the hp kit, druggers are more powerful than ever. Here is what you do:

1. Incoming drugger, initiate long range guns
2. Drugger is inside base now, attack with everything except for fire. Shift the initial long range guns into offense mode (good strategy, enemy base is unguarded, you get flag with full hp. Meet damaged druggers at bottom, kill them, return flag, cap flag.)
3. When drugger is at your flag and your freezes are out and he uses hp kit. Keep bombarding with rails, thunder, and smoky. Now shoot him with fire, the afterburn will work now and since the freezes are out of energy, it's more efficient.
4. Remember to kill all isidas first, don't mind the drugger. Try to place the isidas between you and the drugger *talking to freezes*, the drugger can't hit you but you'll take them all out.

^ neat arguments and nice strategy there..but only one problem, if u r a random guy joining random battle with random other people(who most probably speak other language), such coordinated moves are not possible, only valid for clan fights..

Hi guys ;) Sincerely, I think this game is getting annoying... Now, the weapons I use have a new balance... like firebird. I can't play without getting the enemie's team full of isidas or always pressing 1 for life... I can't kill anyone because developers changed the game, and firebird's burning damage (or normal damage) is healed by the power up of life, or by the isida behind them... Besides, today I entered in 20 different battles and leaved a few minutes after, because people now use and abuse of power ups (from start to the end of the battles) - it's frequent now. I am mad with the fact of firebird doesn't have an opportunity of kill best weapons without they use drugs... I think sometimes what will I do with firebird... The money I spent in it, and in the game, was worth it? People now use power ups to heal (them or each other), more than ever. If we like one weapon, who will make we change to another? Since new balance, people are full of power ups. How will we play or get a chance to kill someone, if our tank is weaker already? The same thing is with twins - since last balance, twins m1 seems worse (like equal to twins m0), we spend lots of cristals to micro-upgrade to get equality against other players... but what chance do I get against ricochet (per example), that at my rank is m2 and twins are m1 and are weaker? And worse, ricochet full of power ups? 2 shots and I'm down, without a chance to shot back... The game is getting annoying with all changes, speccially in firebird... I'm very disappointed. Some weapons are much powerful against others, and now the weakers don't get a chance to kill someone (because the power ups takes the damage and people get healed in a second). I only ask: Really?? Until when? I only ask developers to think at a chance to balance the game again and change what is wrong. Otherwise, I will be tired of playing tanki (that is my favourite game until now) and will quit. Like me, I know that many people that use freeze and firebird are disappointed with new changes. It's not fair. To do that, it was better take off that weapons and replace by anothers. Just saying... It is only my oppinion, I don't know if you agree with me or not, but is what I think...

Quite a bit actually, servers 1 and 2 are always jam-packed with tons of pro battles, at least at my rank. Plus, 5K crystals for just a pass is really not that much when you think about it... the amount of crystals can easily be earned back in one day of battling.

Very true, most of the time over half the players in the battle are russian or just other people that don't know english. The strategies greenleaf proposed are very strong... only when you can communicate with your team.

Yup, servers 1&2 are full of them, although they are mostly high ranked games

 

I don't buy any passes, but yes, I guess 5k for a whole month really isn't that much. I don't play enough for it to be worthwhile, but if you played a lot, and hated druggers, this would be good!

 

Another plus may be that after that month you will have a lot of drugs that you will have saved in the mean time ;)

Exactly my point. As for me it can be very useful since i play a bit everyday (i'm on summer vacation so what do you expect  :D) and i can earn quite a bit of crystals back. In fact I play more pro battles than drug battles, when I'm bored I join a non-pro battle and drug as soon as someone drugs to start a drug war, and FYI I bought these drugs when I reached generalissimo, for fun, to drug when I want to and if I want to, from recruit to commander I only used drugs for gold or for a high fund in which I was leading... Well really, most XP battles I play in, people know their strengths and weaknesses and fall in rank, if only random players could do that :/ 

 

Anyways, did you know, if you make a PRO battle, it won't cost you a penny to join. Just make the title like 100% GOLDBOX or something and advertise it. No PRO pass needed :P

I was on a Rio CTF to 25 flags a few minutes ago. We were at 16 flags when a player named Alexxx-55 joined the game with M1 Freeze/M1 Hornet/Storm (possibly from the M1 Light Tank kit), and oh boy, was he drugging. My team was on the winning side, but once he showed up, the tide was turned upside down. After a few flags, his teammates started drugging as well. After that, it was basically me and a few other WOs trying to slow him down, while everyone else was massacred by people camping on the top buildings with Rico.

 

The end result? Alex got 1,015 crystals (or some similar amount) and I got 110 (and was the MVP on my team). Oh, and a guy named hotjoe was being a jerk to me and the rest of my team as well (I'm not going to report him since I didn't have time to take any proof).

 

I think another anti-drug mechanic could be as follows:

If I use more than 1 supply at a time, the bonuses that they give me will be halved, so Double Armor would give me 25% extra damage resistance, Double Power would give me 25% extra damage, and Nitro would give me +14.5% extra speed. This way, you can still go full juggernaut if you want, but it would be much less powerful.

Have you ever walked into a battle and seen a mass of enemy players all on full powerups? Have you ever been in a great battle and have had one or two players start mashing the 2,3,4 keys? What did you do after that? Rage quit? Try to keep up before quitting? If so, you are not alone. Many an epic battle has been RUINED by these pathetic noobs, who are so scared of not being in first place that they must use powerups to feel good (AKA Use drugs). Just like real drugs, these powerups give the user a "high" of being able to mow down all the other players who play normally. This thread will seek to "study" this epidemic of druggers, and why their actions are ruining a great game.  

 

What is a drugger?: A drugger can be defined as a tanki player that uses the game's powerups almost the entire battle. There are four "tiers" of druggers:

 

TIER ONE: The drugger uses some or all three drugs while getting a flag, no other time. We've all done this, it can be forgiven. 

 

TIER TWO: The drugger uses one or two powerups (e.g. power or armor) nonstop. 

 

TIER THREE: The drugger uses all powerups at once, nonestop. Unfortunately, this is becoming very common. 

 

TIER FOUR: The worst, this drugger uses all drugs at once, AND uses a kit, giving them better equipment at a lower rank, just because they can use mommy's credit card to pay cash for a freakin' internet game.

Why do druggers do what they do? I believe it is a two part cause: 1) they like being able to destroy others easier, and 2) The latest Tanki update made many turrets weaker and kits and drugs cheaper. The latter is what I think is causing more and more druggers to appear. Their former turrets are just not cutting it anymore, so the drugs come into play.

How can you combat a drugger? The perfect weapon to stop a drugger is Freeze. It severely slows them down, allowing your team to overwhelm them. Also, place down lots of mines, as this can flip over druggers. A flipped drugger does zero damage. DONT DRUG BACK. This encourages the drugger and starts a "drug war", where only powerups are used. 

 

If the battle fund is low, leave. Dont bother fighting the losers. Druggers can cause hair loss, throat problems, skin lesions, and an enlarged prostrate.

DRUGGERS' ARGUMENTS AND WHY THEY ARE POINTLESS: 

 

"Thats why drugs are there is to be used!" -Yes, maybe to go get a flag or something. NOT to use forever. 

 

"You are just mad cause you lost" -Im mad because you think hitting a few keys makes you better than others. 

 

"Haha noobs!" -Who is the noob, the guy who has played for years without drugging, or the guy that has played for 15 minutes using nonstop druggs. 

 

"Duuhhhhh me drugger, me hit keys cause im gooder than you, harharhar me dumb" Can't argue with ya there, champ.

WHAT CAN YOU DO OUTSIDE THE GAME TO HELP: Push for a new update limiting the amounts of drugs allowed to be used in-game. Also, if you see druggers, write down their names and add them to the DRUGGER LIST OF SHAME!!! see below)

A MESSAGE TO DRUGGERS: Dear noobs, you may think you are good at this game, but you are not. Just because you can hit 2,3,4 with your fat little fingers or use mommy's credit card to buy drugs and kits does not make you better than the other players that have played for a long time without spending a single cent. You have no skill at all, friends, and when you get to the real world, you will see you cant just hit keys to be better.
