Battle option for restricting certain equipment

Yeah. Turret restriction should be something that can be possible in the new matchmaking system. Players would create custom battles instead of the current pro battles which players have to waste 5000 crystals just to buy a pro pass which lasts for 1 month. The pro pass is another feature that is not needed and must be removed from Tanki Online. Custom battles must be free of charge to create and join without and restriction, just like in standard battles.

 

The create battle button was removed sometime ago, and I hope that it will be added back again for players to have the ability to create their own standard and custom battles without the need to spend crystals on pro passes.

 

In custom battles, players must be able to earn experience points, crystals and kills like in normal battles, because there is no point to play Tanki Online if players don't earn anything.

 

Also, the low gravity mode must be available for use in both standard battles and pro battles, without any restrictions.

Games will lose their taste

It will improve the flavour you tasteless .... :P  To many times woeful combinations ruin a perfectly good free flowing battle.  Who wants to spend all battle butting heads with someone fighting way out of their weight division?  Of course its my perogative, but I leave more battles than I finish these days.

Also , the second ideea is to make battles for category of hulls. Light , medium or heavy. if a player choses wasp or hornet (light) , hunter or Viking (medium), titan & mammouth (heavy). This will be fair as a good balance between players and more chances for everyone to win. When you choose a hull , you may enter in battles special for those category of hulls.

Your idea about limited ranks will come anyways with the new matchmaking system. Your hulls cathegory idea can be done via the idea proposed in this topic.

Bad idea. too much potential for unintended consequences. But mostly it would take considerable dev time to reate a massive cluttering of the xustmom battle interface, which would further fragment those players in custom battles, and is pretty much damned if you do or damned if you don't. By that I mean this.

 

If certain hulls or turrets get **** out of battles very often the consequences are likely to arise. Let's say you play an unpopular turret. Allof a sudden your fellow games can veto you from playing.  Count on losing some players over this. But if the system is not used much ... then the development time is not justified.

 

I see this as can of worms time.

Or the restriction can be to make it some sort of format - i.e. one specific hull and one specific turret for this battle. I agree that using restrictions to exclude a turret would not go over very well.

Turret and hull restriction? It will be heaven for wasp fire mults...

The light bulb went off when I read this comment. This idea is nothing more than a backdoor attempt to get Tanki to allow XP/BP-style combats but instead using the Wasp/Firebird Power-leveling/Mind-killing format.

 

Busted

 

Having realized this is just one massive colossal exploit I am now certain the devs will reject this idea with extreme prejudice.

When the matchmaking system and HTML5 is finally in Tanki Online, there must be many new options for players to allow or restrict specific turrets, hulls and modules, just like in eSports events.

Why not let each turret have a certain combination mode like XP/BP to play against others with? It would allow non-XP/BP users to experience something like XP/BP that isn't XP/BP. 2 turrets already have these modes: i.e. Railgun and Striker but I think others would like more modes to play with. Although this might cause confusion, it is certainly worth considering.

Take a look at the Hornet Striker format. How many times have you seen an actual battle with that format? My guess is zero. XP/BP is the only format players seem to want to play, so spending time adding similar formats for other turrets is pointless.

To be fairly honest, I do see a few XC Modes every now and then but they are always empty. I was thinking that we could have a mode like Hammer/Viking: I suspect that would be quite popular or Freeze/Wasp Mode.

Not a good idea. There could come a moment where many will want to block certain equipments for whatever reasons, and owners of those equipments will find few battles to play.

 

But this could be an option for Clan Battles.

I don't think is poses considerably more risk than there already is... if someones going to mult, you're not going to stop them...

We have to suffer with magnums and isidas everywhere because the devs dont want something that already exists to exist. Flawless logic, they really dont want free players to get crystals.

Tanki devs know this have every single time they say. "No, we are not going to create a mode using the least interesting and least-skillful matchup possible just so people can use it as an exploit". On this issue, tanki devs do do a very good job.

 

So now we have this suggestions which is just a disguised way to set up these same Firebird/Wsp exploit battle. Given Tanki's past comments, there is no way under Earth blue skies the TO devs let this happen.

    You see, I don't quite agree with your logic.  But I don't also agree with the requirement to have completely free choice in the battle options.  There is nothing to stop any of these "power levelers" doing fire wasp battles anyway, you have a few people in fire wasp and no one else much is going to stay and duke it out..  I don't believe for a moment that anyone that tries to play that mode is not playing for fun, just as there are those that don't.  So rather than completely open slather on choices, you could simply have light, light/medium and medium/heavy modes.. similar in mechanics to xp/bp but leave the weapons range more open.

 

My biggest complaint the whole way along really has been there's a range of weapons, that slow down your battle rather badly and for me take the enjoyment out it completely.  Amongst those are freeze/twins/vulcan and now magnum.  They either disable you, or can have your team cowering in the corner because no one wants to brave the withering fire they produce.  Couple that with a titan or mammoth that sits on a flag on a small map, and players leave.

 

   So I say, don't write off SOME way of having SOME choices in battle types.  Perhaps as they say you can't make all the people happy all the time, and SOME styles will still be smurfed along the way.  But anything would be a step forward from where it is now, in order to be able to maintain a fast paced, free flowing battle.

I am near constantly frustrated by creating a battle, and having it turn into a heavy handed slugging match between heavy hulls and long distance constant fire weapons.  Worst of all when you start a battle, all looks well and then it gets hijacked half way through.  You go from a tough arm wrestle, to a one sided mess.

 

I'd like to see a battle format that allows no hull heavier than dictator.

 

and no magnum/vulcan/freeze/shaft/twins allowed.

 

I know from the battles I take part in I'm not the only one frustrated in this regard, although I don't know how widespread support for this idea will be.  So far all I can do is, if its early in the battle just leave it, and I do that frequently :(  Followed by hoping we're far enough in front to be able to cope with this monstrosity on the other team, or with a team consensus just have everybody pause, and let them take the flags, finish the battle and take whatever crystals we can salvage at the end. Neither of which are ideal, but are somewhat effective.
