Tips On Using The Z,X,C Buttons?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hey Tankers,

I been looking at videos and watching the Tanki Star Ladder battles recently and I noticed they all move there turrets....

I've never really used the Z, X and C button to move my turret, I just keep it in the same position and just move and look around by moving my tank. As you can probably tell I die a lot on the battlefield, (although I do get top of the table sometimes).

So I wanted to know, how can I get used to the Z, X and C buttons? When to use them and how to use them efficiently?

Many Thanks, VeeMJ27

Your first step should be to completely stop using the C button!

Never touch it again. I really never use it.

Just focus on Z and X. This way you will force yourself to turn the turret.

I 'm not a Pro myself, but I suppose Pro 's never use the C button anymore.

Another benefit: one less key to worry about!

A (boring) way to train the use of your turret is to make a private battle.

Pick a spot on a wall, or shoot a spot and next you make drive-by 's while turning your turret

and shooting on the same spot again and again.

Smoky is a good turret to use for this purpose.

Really learn to turn: or be a noob forever... ;)

Oh..... my.... gosh. Don't take this personally but I absolutely despise it when people don't  turn their entire hull around and don't even look behind them with X and Z. I just.... I don't know how to put it into words. But it's good you want to learn :)  When I first joined Tanki I looked at what the screen told me to do. How to drive. shoot, move etc. So my advice to you is just make a new account and follow the on-screen steps when you first join the battle.

These are some tips to use them:

Firstly: Always turn your turret.  When you spawn turn left and right. While you driving do the same thing. As you are new to this (sadly), I advise using a weapon without recoil. So Freeze, Fire and Isida.

And secondly: Just try. Even if it's just to turn 90 degrees to kill someone while you are at a standstill. To make it easier, try using Mammoth or Titan, nothing else. If you try to turn your whole hull, you'll die. Also use a gun with medium- high turning speed. E.G anything but Shaft and Railgun. That's about it. Eventually you'll get used to it.

Yeah few problems here, I use Railgun and Hornet, so kinda hard and I'm used to it...^^^^^

Yeah I will try the private battle thing thanks.... I'll probs stay a noob forever.... I suppose there is no point using the C button. Thanks ^^^^

Hence why I want to learn ^^^^.....

Just wanted to add, I'm finding it hard to control my tank once I move my turret I find it hard to control my hull.

if youre right handed, place your hand on the keyboard and use your middle finger for the up arrow key, the finger next to your thumb for the left arrow key, and your index finger for the right arrow key, then use your finger next to your thumb for the x key and your middle finger for the z key, hope that helps

You can always watch some Tanki gameplay videos on Youtube. It really helps. I learnt to turn my turret from them  ^_^

Yeah I do watch Youtube videos on Tanki hence why I want to learn, after seeing them. ^^^

You have to get used to using z and x :)

I never use C

Yeah quite a few people are saying this guess there is no point^^^^^

It does not mater are you left or right handed. And you can also use C key and if you are using hornet rail combo try some xp games. you will need to turn rail all the time. If you do not know what xp game is look about it in forum

Yes, ofcourse he can use the C key, but why should he?

The turret doesn 't turn faster when using C and it 's just making things more complicated in my view.

Than again you are high in rank so could you please explain the benefit of using the extra C key please?

No offence, but what I don 't understand is your advice to VeeMJ27 to play XP.

Do you really believe a beginner has any chance in an XP?

(he might not even have Tundra paint)

I am quite sure an XP battle is not the right environment for beginners. Much too demanding gameplay!

just turn your turret, it will help you ALOT

Yeah I know, hence why I want to learn.

Thanks for all the tips people, some will defo help me improve my game

If you don't use a hull easier to control, you'll have an even harder time learning how to use Z and X properly. I highly recommend buying a heavy hull (Come on they're just 100 or 400. You must have that amount of crystals to buy them) And you say you can't control your tank? Do you use camera angles?

use ur left hand for z and x, and the right hand for the arrow keys...

and in case you use W,A,S,D to move your tank, use left hand for wasd, and right hand for < and > keys to move turret (gun)

I use my left hand for "W,A,S,D" and for "Z,X,C"

Most people don't use "C" but it is quite useful when your enemy is behind you and your turret is facing the other way.To me "C" makes it easier to make my turret face back to the normal position so i can keep changing it with "Z" and "X"
