I've been Playing this game for nearly 2 years now. I've never seen anything quite like this. The clans are being forced to a different venue against their will.

I hear the chatter around skype. Most of it's negative.

But with all big changes to the game, and inevitably our routine, there is always a better and brighter side to this message that Supernick delivers to us.[and remember , he's just the messenger, so quit with the hate mail (rolls eyes)]

If you readers watch this video, (and I want to think that at least 60% of the community already has, but I could be wrong), You will see that this is going to be something really good. Starladder gives all the clans a chance to prove themselves. They have really good prizes for the top finishers, and for the best clans, (if you are truly worthy.) You will be able to establish yourselves in a way that wasn't before possible.

A ranking system.

That's right! A REAL ranking system. Not just claimed victories that clans place on their topics. (BTW, how come most you leaders ONLY post the victories?)

Nuf said.

Starladder is changing the way this game is going to be played in the future on a competitive level.  The time for claims from clans of being the best is OVER!! (Don't be arrogant, be better). The time for Proving that you Clans out there really are better, is now.

Register your clan today: http://tanki.starladder.tv/en

As always, it's a pleasure. And I will see you on the battle field.

Too many clans, the mods have a hard time. I think it was wrong to remove clans. maybe just rise the rank limit to brigadier. that way noobs won't make noob clans

Mods hard work?

mods don't even know what goes in star ladder, i know the c.s mods very well or at least one very well he said"we are nothing to do with star ladder, our job now is to close topics.. nothing else, whatever you know about C.S is what we know" from this you can tell that when it comes to star ladder they are nothing to do with it now that their role of closing topics is gone.. he said " i dont know why im not fired yet" think about it.. from my point of view.. star ladder has taken over tanki C.S and ruined it..

I read all of this. Starladder would actually be good if it ran alongside the current system. What if this fails? What will happen? Clans that currently exist in our community require a huge memberlist to begin with. Our community comprises of players from different timezones, early ages and players who are amateur to the gaming genre. The current clans require a huge memberlist because even if there are 30 players in the clan, 20 will be active, and only 7-10 will ever be available for wars/training. 50% of members don't even know what teamwork is. SL will limit the number of players in the clan to 12. You think that's good? As far as I know barely any clans signed up for StarLadder, out of these clans barely anyone is worthy of making their way to the second round in the AMSeries. I am entirely against this.

"What if this fails?" -

It won't because this is the way Alternativa wants it.

"The current clans require a huge memberlist because even if there are 30 players in the clan"  -

                                                                                       - This is because the current clan leaders fill thier clans with many, hoping they can have a time when there will be at least 6.....(seriously???? 6 out of 30???)  players on at one time. (Hint: pick members close to your time zone.)

"SL will limit the number of players in the clan to 12" -

-Yes. It will. I'd suggest you choose wisely.

You guys need to understand, to run a good game, you have to listen to the playerbase, I doubt you are doing that with decisions like this.

Oh really? I doubt that if you were at a lower rank like us you won't say something like that.

The only good thing about this for me is that we will now be using Teamspeak 3 for communication, as the website states.

Let me make points about this matter

First of all, to staff people, you guys are the probably the ones voting that this idea is "Good" rather than terrible because obviously you guys are paid to do this. And you will probably say some garbage excuse about this but everyone knows that you guys are paid to do your work and you are being controlled by the admins etc. or else you're fired from your job. I think that you must have some doubts if this idea is good.

Second of all, we don't even know StarLadder well. Half the clans didn't even sign up and now we are forced to do so. Tanki is kissing up to SL just because it takes care of SOME tournaments of League of Legends, Counter Strike and maybe World of Tanks. People are blinded because they think SL is good. Now, 3 years of clan history in this forum, taken over in 3 weeks? What is this? And now for the clans that have 12+ members, like 90% of the clans, they are forced to choose 12 members, and they can't change those during the season. The rest of the members just sit there, bored. While the 12 members, they are meant to have a life, so they might quit tanki, or something and you can't replace him/her.

Finally, if clans go worse and worse, and there is no point in having a clan anymore, I'm quitting Tanki. Clans are the only thing that stops me from quitting.

Starladder is a mistake and you know it. Being a staff member doesn't mean you'll have to agree everything the higher ups decide.

[Copied and pasted]

Here's a common situation for many players looking to join a clan.

"Oh dear... These two (or however many) clans look like they both have skilled players... Which one should I pick?"

The next option is community.

With the current (going onto old) system, you could look through the clan topic. Is there a friendly atmosphere? In most clans you'll see players congratulating clan members on various achievements (e.g. ranking up), or thanking players for help in their battles when needed most. You'll also see battle results as a way to get the general gist of how members play. Something this is failing to realise is that when joining a clan, you're not just a "clanmate" but a friend. Now, the topic system meant that I could see clans' training videos, even an introductory video on the first page. I see that SL doesn't really have a place where videos are visible. All these things above and more are what can make a difference between joining equally skilled clans. Now how will we be able to tell the difference? Via messages, flooded with "left the team..." "... joined the team". And hey, that only showcases 12 members. Not much to base any decision on.

Now, we can't see ranks on Clan pages, can we? We won't be able to tell if we're joining a newbie clan unless we find each member's rank by typing their name in the chat. There's no one place where we can see who's leader, "high council", etc. Now it's much harder for clans to keep track of applications and to post requirements.

OK SO MY 3 FINAL POINTS ABOUT THIS MATTER

First of all, to staff people, you guys are the probably the ones voting that this idea is "Good" rather than terrible because obviously you guys are paid to do this. And you will probably say some garbage excuse about this but everyone knows that you guys are paid to do your work and you are being controlled by the admins etc. or else you're fired from your job. I think that you must have some doubts if this idea is good.

Well, the other two points of yours are good, but this one's pretty weak. As staff members, we're not paid to act as 'propaganda agents' - we undertake a role to help the community, and that's what we're paid for. That doesn't stop us from having our own opinions on matters such as these. So, in an anonymous poll such as the one you have in this topic, there'll probably have been both staff members and players who've selected the option that this particular idea is poor. Being staff members doesn't stop us from disagreeing; it just means we're expected to set an example by posting our views in a polite and respectful manner.

For example, I personally do disagree with the removal of clan topics. I agree they've had a lot of history behind them, and I also agree it could mean less activity on the forum, which wouldn't be a good thing. However, I'm interested to see how this works out - maybe Starladder could prove a good way for clans to maintain a higher level of ability, and I particularly like the player-specific statistics which will come into play. Adversely, it seems like Starladder on its own could currently lack some sort of community aspect. We'll just have to wait and see how this turns out.
