No, the box adds to the fund, just like kills add to the fund. Then, at the end, you get a fund based of of how many golds you caught. Just like in DM, where you get fund based off of how many kills you have.

I don't understand your idea. How can the fund increase if gold boxes have no value?

I was just wondering about future customization options. I'm tired of seeing tanks that looks exactly like mine. Will you be able to customize tanks more in the future? for example put your name or stickers on them to make them unique to their player?

I like this idea - most of us are using Forester paint at my level - because it's really important not to get one shot-ed from rails.  and I agree this is boring.  I'm stuck with Forester for 3 or 4 months.

The next level up is Tundra 35500 or Digital 79500 and are out of my reach at present (saving up for M2 Wasp 102,700!)

This means I cannot choose any other 'look' for my Tank!   I hated my Lizard paint - but had to use it to protect from Rico for 4 months in my WO days.

So many tanks all end up looking the same at my level.

I like the idea that part of the tank could have our own personal colour (maybe just part of the front and the back) - I can see that logos and names would be banned because this would get abused.

However, I like the way that AbsoluteZero has his own colours.

Why could we not choose ANY of the existing colours up to our rank limit and still buy the protection powers for each paint - and treat these more as paint MU's stored in the garage.

I.e. right now we have no idea what MU level each tank has and most of the time we have no idea what paint protection each has unless we also own that colour.

If we can choose any colour within our rank range then I think we would see more variety on the battlefield - unless we all choose the most camouflaged colour to suit each map!

The new paints for Hammer and the machine gun mean nothing to me because they're useless for me.  I must have protection from rail as my highest priority.  I have difficulty killing rails if I get one shot-ed.

All 'shorties' (izzy, firebird and freeze) now adding Hammer and machine gun - are best killed at long range by the 'none shorties' - rico, shaft, thunder, smoky.  (Twins is in between.)

The paintjobs I see on tanks make zero difference to my choice of target or how I deal with it - although I'm sure looking at a 'sea' of 'forester' paint must annoy the rails!

Summary - let's have a bigger choice of colour we can actually put on our tank and doing this means removing the linkage to what each colour protects against - this will be our secret just like our MU levels are already 'secret'.  Also this way we can wear 'holiday paint' without losing our protection.

(Maybe we also need a way to interrogate each tank we see on the battlefield - to discover what MU and Paint 'secrets' it has?)

Make a mini-gun turret. Many turrets are unrealistic like the freeze, the ricochet and the twins, I think that you could ad on to the more realistic ones like the Hammer, the Firebird and the Smoky (Look them up they exist) by adding a mini-gun turret. It would definitely be my favorite, with a high rate of fire and a pretty good range.

You should add a mini-gun turret. You have many unrealistic turrets like the Isida, the Freeze and the ricochet. You should add to the more realistic ones like the Smoky, the Firebird and the Hammer (they exist look it up) by adding a mini-gun turret. It would be my personal favorite with a high rate of fire and a good range. I think that a mini-gun turret would be awesome!

You should add to the more realistic ones like the Smoky, the Firebird and the Hammer (they exist look it up) by adding a mini-gun turret. You've introduced/are introducing some new turrets recently so I imagine it'll be a while before another one enters the game.  With that said, when you DO decide to develop a new one I'd like you to consider a grenade launcher. 

 

In my concept of it, this turret would fire a small grenade in an arc, thereby allowing the user to fire over small obstacles/walls and other tanks.  It would be relatively short range.  The firing rate would be about half that of Ricochet, with the damage done being proportionally greater (these two aspects are up for discussion, naturally).  If you need an image in your mind then perhaps you recall the 'Artillery' unit in Command and Conquer Red Alert?  That gives a good idea of the sort of thing I'm imagining. 

 

I feel that a new turret should always add a new aspect of gameplay and that one which is not hampered by obstacles and friendly tanks (but which can still hide behind them itself from existing turrets) would definitely be a catalyst in the evolution of the game.  You've done different types of ammunition and firing rates - now it's time to think about trajectory!

Agreed; like Thunder, damage should be done to anyone in the blast range of the exploding grenade, including to the tank that fired it if it's too close.

1. It's not my idea. Just someone suggested it, and someone else said it didn't make sense, and I explained how it did.

2. Well, that's like saying "how can kills and flag caps add to the fund? They're not worth anything." They add to the fund cause they get caught. If it makes you feel like they're worth something, how about exp? That way they're even more like kills.

I'd like to wade in here and try to clarify the situation, if I can. B) What the OP (Colnel) was proposing in post #8208 was to create a new game mode in which, instead of capturing flags (CTF) or getting as many kills as you can (DM/TDM), you try to collect as many gold boxes as you can, with a new one dropping twenty seconds after the current one is collected until the game ends. The player that collected the box would get points added to his/her score, just like they would if they'd killed someone or captured a flag. Instead of gems from the gold box going straight to the player that captured it, in this game mode a smaller amount of gems would go into the battle fund to be shared out at the end of the match in the usual way. If it helps you could think of them as 'game boxes', rather than gold boxes.

 

I think that this game mode could work, but that the gold boxes (just for this mode) should perhaps be renamed so as to avoid any confusion and make it very clear that it's a different type of box. Gold box collecting is fun and popular so I wouldn't be surprised if this made it into the game at some point, probably called something like 'Collect the Box (CTB)'.

My favorite arena was the New Years Race Arena. But now it's gone. Is it possible to bring the arena back for a while longer. If not, is it possible to make a similar arena with several different levels with ideal sniping conditions similar to the conditions found in New Years Race?

Canadian oriented server???

 

​Just wondering if this is a possibility for us Canadians...

The idea of having a bilingual server named CA or En/Fr for Canadians and other English and French speaking users.

The reasoning for this, is because in Canada we have two 1st languages (French and English), and there are lots of people I know who speak French and English and could have decent conversations in both...

​The reason why I didn't ask for a separate French server, is because as a noble Canadian I believe that both languages should be used in harmony, plus the fact that you can't pass high school in Canada without being fluent in French and English.

Nobody answered my suggestion, so i write it again:

 

A lot of games are ruined because of the players who abandon it when the score is negative. Then you are at a stage that began in equality become one in which a team can double the number of players on the other.

Why do not the players leaving games before final with 200 crystals penalized?

I have a suggestion for improvments.
You deleted crystal boxes tomake the crystals more sure to get to the players.
The matter is that Hungary (a country) 's 100% percent is against this. (or 99%).
So why don't the tanki team makes crystal boxes that won''t dissapear until they picked up.
 
There could be also a new gamemode called GoldHunters.
Goldboxes would fall all the time, without value.
The player/team wit the most goldboxes caught could be the winner.
Just to improve the technique and bring joy, happiness, and action.
 
PLEASE!!!
 
Take it into consederation :(

If someone without using powerups shoots one who uses his own powerups (bought or gained), why shouldn't the one without powerups not receive some more crystals? I prefer to play without powerups, but i get no reward for that. If i use powerups to kill 10 ennemies, it's my choice.

Is it possible to bring the New Years Race Arena Back? It was my favorite arena during the holiday season, yet now it's gone. If you can't bring it back, can you make a new map with the several levels perfect for sniping, like in New Years Race.

The game would greatly benefit if all weapons had less power or all tanks more armor. Under current conditions, especially in small maps, you are dying all the time. One (or two shots at most) and you're dead. Unless, of course, you play all the time with supplies.

And freezer should take an additional 25%. Freezer is frustrating: A stupid weapon for stupid players.

Players can leave whenever they want, pause whenever they want. For some reason it seems that some can stay in a battle longer without playing, but that's not normal. When you are down 5 to 0, the other players are spawn killing and running up the fund for themselves, sometimes you just decide it's not fun and not worth a few paltry XP. So it's off to another battle where you might have a chance.

If you notice, one team cannot add players to one side if the number there is greater. So if people leave on you,you are only going to face the same number of new joiners. This can sometimes turn the tables on you in a close game. C'est la guerre.

Freeze is both too strong and too weak: too strong because you can't shoot back, too weak for new players because you can't get close enough to use it. It seems to be a sop to the higher rank players who for some reason don't like Firebird.
