Should Pro-Battles be Free to Play?

        I know I've suggested free Pro battles twice now, but I'd just like to know some opinions on this. I personally think free Pro Battles would make Pro battles themselves more popular and more abundant. If anyone ever complains about druggers, usually the first reply is for the complainer to go away and play Pro Battles. That would work fine, but there are a couple small problems...

 

      1. There are no Pro battles! Have you ever tried looking for one that does not involve 'issimos or XP rules? And this is probably because of the price. After all, why would a colonel like me pay 500 crystals to get beat up by M4s?

 

       2. Hardly anyone joins! If it's not a XP battle, it is common to see the scarce non--XP battles with maybe a total of two or three people inside. This is also probably because of the price to enter.

 

      So, based on these points, if the battles were totally free they would become far more popular. Yet, on the flip side, more pro battles means less drug wars, meaning less drug sales in the garage. I know Tanki needs money, and if there are no drug sales then I'm pretty sure Tanki would lose a lot of income....

 

 

       So, I ask again: should they be free?

If they are free, people can go in and mult. Paying 500 crystals prevents people who mult going in as they don't want to pay the crystals. I think it's quite clever :P

Yes, developers removed the new system, but they told us that there will be a new better and improved one, that will more fair and more effective then the old one.

Pro pass isn't very expensive. Buy it on sales.. However pro pass is the way to the good life.. If you got skill then you will become a pro..

I'd love to buy a pass regularly if I could find matches.  If they were free I don't see much incentive to ever join regular matches.  No way devs would want to hurt their own profits in such a way.

 

How about a compromise?  People can join or create up to 3 pro matches each day.  Doesn't solve the multi problem but it would make more pro pass games without hurting drug sales much.

i get sick of the noob drugers who can break the 12345 keys  the pro  battles must be free and pay 100 to enter the drugs battles

i have no problem in buying the pro pass but there are 2 or 3 players in the pro battles  bcs no one in tanki want to spend 5000 to enter a battle with 5 players and get out with 50 crystals i think the pass must be fore drug  battles not fore pro battles  then the pro battles will be more popular

At first I though "yes! free pass for PRO battles". But later on I thought all the above mentioned reasons not to let PRO battles free. However, don't you agree that 5000 crystals for pretty much small battles with 3 or 4 players per team is rather too much?

 

So, I beleive that it would be better, TO Devs give a discount at PRO pass, say 3000 instead of 5000. This way, they get less money per buyer but they make more people get interested in PRO battles and encreace the number of players that play PRO battles. Isn't that good?

I had another thought.  I still like the idea of letting players try pro passes for awhile, it will give them more incentive to buy it.  Once people start buying it you will see more matches.  This could be accomplished by having free pro pass weekends.  Players will be free to create pro passes for a few days, some percentage will see a benefit and be more inclined to spend crystals on a pro pass. 

 

Or introduce a deluxe pro pass.  For ~40k crystals you can make matches with pro settings that anyone can join for the next month.  It might need a few balancing features to prevent a single person from making simultaneous games.  I could see this being even more profitable for the devs than drug sales, plus it would benefit free users by giving some of us a place to hide.

I don't think it is an issue of price.  It is more of a prisoner's dilemma.  A lot of people want to buy pro passes because it is in their best interest but are unwilling to because no one else does.  Despite the potential benefit the investment is wasted if there aren't people to fill suitable pro pass matches.  Unless they were trivially inexpensive I don't think people would buy them for fear of not finding matches.

Well, if the devs don't wanna make Pro-Battles free, at least they should make the pass cheaper (e.g: 5k to 2.5k). ^_^
