Time to find new entertainment - Tanki just isn't fun any more

Recommended Posts

I have two accounts, my other one a Colonel and I've spent a considerable amount of money on it (hundreds of dollars). I've come to the conclusion that Tanki isn't as much fun any more. The game is sliding downhill with no end in sight.  Yes it has incredible graphics, physics, etc...but a significant number of people are ruining the game play. A few examples...

  1. Individual sabotage - it's almost impossible to police.  Even if it's reported, and even if Tanki's staff has the time to investigate, by then that specific game has been ruined and that player is long gone. I've had it happen to me many times. Tankers who find it funny to block and push teammates - some of them leaving maps and rejoining the opposing team for the sole purpose of sabotage.
  2. Group sabotage - even worse is when you've spent hours and significant supplies on a lengthy battle only to have some i-d-i-o-t group of tankers simultaneously join a game in progress with the sole purpose of taking over the game - particularly one in which most of the opposing team has left because they were not doing well.  They're typically high ranked tankers with substantial tanks and seemingly unlimited supplies. It happened again not 10 minutes ago while on my other account. They don't always achieve their goal, but more often than not they completely ruin the game. Unfortunately there's no way to stop it.
  3. Arbitrary restrictions - being banned for profanity or insults that seem somewhat arbitrarily selected and almost impossible to adequately police. Tanki's technology isn't good enough to police language. Tankers know they can add a character or two to any words or phrase to defeat Tanki's system (I just did it in point #2, that's how simple and arbitrary it is). And only a relatively small fraction of /vote reported incidents are ever investigated.

I'm not spending another cent on the game. At least if I play it for free I don't feel as if I've thrown money out the window so a bunch of imbeciles can get their kicks trolling the game.  Such a shame.

I will quit soon too (not that I play a lot anymore but still...). Many friends left Tanki and I think that it will be my time to leave Tanki soon.

My suggestion for both of you would be to join Cybersport. Unfortunately for me, I still need a lot of time to reach Gen, but both of you are already playing with M3s. Play in Cybersport tournaments where the gameplay is strictly controlled and still very entertaining.

I do that whenever I play drug battles, it's not sabotage. And in fact, it's intelligent if you want a nice crystal reward.

My suggestion for you would be to buy a Pro pass and to try getting involved in the numerous XP (Hornet/Railgun) battles which can be found on Server 1.

Actually I'm involved in Cybersport for a long time already, but since they switched to Starladder, the playing times became impossible for me and my clanmates...

I do this on my alt when both sides are unequal. Like 7-4.

^ Not everyone's favorite combo is Hornet and Railgun

My favourite combo wasn't Hornet/Railgun when XPs first came about. Generally, those who don't like XPs are those who still haven't really played them and so those who aren't that good at them - it's a self-defeating cycle. Whether it's your favourite combo or not, most players have taken part in them by now, drawn in by their unique gameplay.

As for the drugging issue - if all else fails, go to a server like Server 25. There, you get people at M3 ranks running around with M2s/M1s, and very few players drugging, since most good players and druggers stick to the main servers.

@GoldRock: I like Thunder with my Wasp better than Rail. I've been using the BP combo a lot lately, as I don't have M1 Thunder yet on Trom (my alt). Sure, I like it, but XP/BP just isn't the solution to people like me. I'm not gonna ditch my favorite combo.

Does it mean XP is now your favourite?

Well, it probably is now, yeah.

I know, but XP/BP battles are still good for improving your general skill/tactical awareness - and that can be transferred over to many situations in a normal battlefield. As I said, I sometimes stick to the emptier servers if I'm looking to play a normal battle without drugging.

Agreed. They are impossible to monitor all the time.

That is part of the game. It is not sabotage but taking over turns out to be very profitable. You will end up getting a large reward (much larger than what you could get from a straight win). Supplies; again, part of the game. If you do not like them play pro battles. The price is small and the reward is much better. In any way, it is not an easy victory, and those dare devils who do this, successfully are good players who win without cheating. Unless they use mults though, that would be cheating.

The punishments are dealt fairly (or at times a bit harshly). A simple screenshot of a profanity violation is enough to give a person one week bans. Tanki is rated 16+.

Regardless of what I said, there is no reason to invest into the game if you are not content with it. Trying to make your space in the game if it is possible might be done according to your own preference. The media is large, you can find another game online/offline easily and can be downloaded for free (most of them). You can move to other games that fulfill your need. Games are only entertainment, not supposed to be taken very seriously.

I get bored too. So when there's not much to do and I'm in the owning mood, I play duels in sandbox with wasp rail. Wasp rail is quite fun as it is very hard to control.

i can share my experience

i talk with so much mult , noob (as every one say)

genraly they join in battle for enjoy in their own way, they are frustrated , at rank of m2, m3 combo they are still using m1,m0 & allways looking for bonus crystal

sevral time i asked them why they not play seriously?

they answered can you give me assurance our team will win? although we lead 75-30 flag in 100 flag game, you cant say we will win.a kit player will join in against team & we loose by 75-100 , after spending bunch of supply you will got 200 crystal,

so its better to collect 500 bonus crystal by doing nothing, al least we earn more crystal than you.

i asked why then you upgrade your combo ? they its cost too high & if they buy drug its impossible to upgrade combo .

moral less they are frustrated for kit players , fot massive drugger & ratio of winning / loosing team crystal distribution

it was thinking of multers / noobs

but personally i think the classification of buyer / free player are make big gap day by day, if kit player join your group you win if they join against team you loose , your playing skill affect 2% only , your luck will work 98%.

if you are a buyer you will rule

but free player ( multers) have invented a way have fun from this unbalanced game .

if some day all of them will serious, there will be no one to play in tanki as  NEED FOR SPEED WORLD

As far as I know, there isn't a single way of telling who is 16+ and who isn't. And if there was an option for age at the registration part of the game, "Kids" would lie about their age and get in regardless of the age limit or restriction (whatever you choose to call it.) Does that make sense? I agree with the main post but I will stay a while longer.
