Mary - 6.5K

5% Smoky, 5% Twins, 14% Freeze

A good coating for the earliest ranks! At one point, Mary was one of the three most expensive paints that offered no protection, priced at 2,000 crystals before the economic rebalance.  It was a popular clan paint, as it looked cool and had no resistance - an old necessity for clan wars of years gone by.

Delving into its uses and resistances, it’s fairly obvious that Mary has no legitimate camouflaging capacities, as no props or images in the game have a consistent White-Red complexion. So, I would advise against buying this paint if you like hiding in shallow shrubbery with your Shaft or other long-range weapon. Despite its very supportive description in the garage, I find its text somewhat misleading - 5% resistance to anything, even at the lower ranks, is not very good at all! Maybe microupgraded up a few points, it might be noticeable, but most certainly not at first!  It’s only beneficial attribute is its decent resistance to the Freeze turret. That 14+ % may buy a tanker enough time to turn his tank and destroy his [literally] cold-hearted assailant. This paint is most definitely a good buy in that respect. It is only slightly better than the lower-priced Lava paint due to its existent, albeit minuscule resistances to Smoky and Twins. This is a paint for medium-hull attackers who want to be able to take on a Freeze with some confidence. Close-range weapons would be best with Mary.

Storm - 9K

6% Freeze, 20% Firebird

The little brother of Loam has its uses. This purple coating is not very special in the camouflage department, though its values make up for it, since one won’t need camouflage to use this paint in the best way possible.  Since it offers a pretty good rate of resistance against the fastest damaging gun in the game, Firebird, and an OK say against annoying Freezes, the ideal tank/weapon combo to use with this would be something light with a close range weapon - something along the lines of Wasp/Freeze, for fast getaways from recently frozen opponents. Beware: don’t go charging in with a blaze of glory, because that’s what you’ll die in, too. Try to sneak up to the flag, freeze as many enemies as quickly as you can, and hightail it back to base!

Carbon - 13K

5% Twins, 5% Shaft, 20% Smoky

Behind Mary, this is the cheapest paint in the game that offers resistance against three weapons. However, since two of these are but 5%’s, they will hardly be calculated in this review. (Microupgrading those parameters can bring some notable benefits, however!) This coat’s main protection is against Smoky, which is crucial nowadays with its spontaneous and deadly critical hit capabilities. Taking this (and pretty much only this) into consideration, this paint would best be used in medium-range battles, where Smokies seem to find their domain. Any medium hull would be well-used with this, along with a medium-range weapon of your own, such as Ricochet, Thunder, or maybe even Twins. Help the flag back to base, but don’t go in for it!

You finally did it! Came down to the level of us lesser mortals, i.e. (Sorry if I've bothered you for far too long in main chat demanding a lower-range paint review!) As for Mary, well, that being my current paint since I could afford and/or equip it, the freeze protection kinda helps. They are the most annoying of all turrets, after all!

Thank you.

Short but good. This article will properly help the lower ranks the most.

Precisely where it was aimed at, but none the less, a very informative article.
