Just out of curiosity, which hulls do you think suit freeze and firebird better?

I would say Wasp for Firebird, and Hornet/Hunter for Freeze. Freeze goes very well on Hornet, hence the high score.

Hornet Railgun is way to overrated.

It has such a high rating because I factored in things such as the fact that it has its own popular un-official battlemode. I can't think of any other combination which has such a popular battlemode dedicated to just that combo, so...

I disagree with isida and hornet, i used to use wasp/isida all the time, it was very hard to use cause railguns and shafts would snipe you before you even came close while hornet can sometimes withstand the hit,

just my opinion :D

When I saw the Smoky section I was going to give you a cookie, then I saw the Firebird one so I was going to give you 2 but with the Isida one I was going to give you an Oreo. And for the whole article itself, I will give you a whole bag of Oreos!

Great job once again, and I can't wait until the hunter article. I am a hunter / smoky specialist* and I'm wondering how you will rate it.

 

*I'm still deadly with my railgun though, I started using it at captain when my then m1 smoky was outclassed by all the m2 turrets running around. Now I just use rail for clan wars.

I myself argue on hornet firebird combo because it is not so bad to deserve an 6.5.It can get 7.5 when freeze can get 8.

So there you have it - my educated opinions on each of the combinations involving Hornet, from the perspective of the hull itself. As you can see, Hornet is decent with all weapons, as well as being relatively cheap; no wonder it's such a popular hull. Next up will be Hunter; the all-rounded hull of the game, so make sure you look out for that article. Thanks for reading! The way I see it, freeze, and isida are the best combos with hornet, seeing that for both turrets a decent amount of turning is needed to use the turret to its full potential before dying. Firebird, ricochet, and shaft, seem most deadly on either viking or occasionally hunter, since for these turrets to use their entire energy bar (or whatever you call it), you need to survive quite a bit and take a punch or two. Now for thunder, smoky, and twins... depending on the map of course, they might be most beneficial for the player when equipped on a heavy hull such as mammoth or titan, as these turrets have pretty good reload speeds and deal the most damage in constant barrages on the enemy. But to make these shots count, you need to survive quite a long time. And last, but not least, personally... rail is mostly only effective in XP matches where you are guaranteed the enemy doesn't have very much protection against rail, if any at all. Mainly because you just see way too many players with prodigi paint at this rank in normal non-Pro mathces, and there is no point attacking them with rail, even on double power.

Hornet/smoky is definitely better combo than Rail/hornet because smoky almost always knocks off its shot + looks better + unexpected criticals :wub:  :wub:  :wub:

PS: I use smoky m2 and hornet m3 and it rocks!

@ ALEKSE: Railgun used to be called the Fear Machine, not Rail/Hornet.  You call him a kid and then lead a false argument :/   Many people like it, doesn't mean it is the best combo.
