Spectator Mode!

Recommended Posts

The game, at the moment is very fun. Over the past few months of playing the game, I think it was time we had some way of viewing the battle, if for say we were to be AFK or perhaps wanting to take a longer break than the 5 minutes allowed, we'd be moved into spectator mode. The only way to get out of spectator mode would be to reconnect though. Also, you cannot communicate whilst in spectator mode. Spectator mode would be resource-friendly and wouldn't take up too much server memory.

The only flaw to this idea would be ghosting, where someone uses 2 computers, 1 computer to view the match at a flying perspective, and the other computer in battle. This can be solved by having a restriction as to how many computers/devices can log in on the same IP address. But still, that'd be breaking some kind of privacy law.

As I mentioned before, flying perspective. The controls for spectator mode are with WASD, with the mouse used to point the elevation for the camera. I haven't thought out the controls yet, but I was thinking maybe something like the controls for Team Fortress 2 Replay Editor Studio's controls (i'll explain, if need be).

Other than that, happy to take ideas and improvements.

As always, stay strong and fight till the end!

there is a spectator mode but only TO staff can use it.

The current spectator is available only in a few staff jobs (Chat moderators and various CyberSport staff) and displays details of the battle that regular players should not be able to see, if this were a feature in the game.

This was discussed here within the past day.

Oh, thanks for the link! I was thinking maybe a spectator mode that wasn't as 'important' as the chat moderators and CyberSport staff use. Thaty'd be able to fly around without seeing any data  :P

Thanks for your help!

My questions would be: You can't leave your team alone like 9 against 10 for half an hour. It would be misused by saboteurs. If you mean, anyone can enter your place, and you are not occupying a place for potential new comers, then what happens once you are back? Will you always stay in this mode till the end of the game, if nobody leaves? And what about the funds? Funds will be divided equally between teams. Don't you think it would be a waste of time, since you are not in the team anymore? There is no point to stay. But if you only want to watch and agreed nothing to get at the end of the game, perhaps.. You could watch your friends battling. That could be nice

I though there was going to be an update where can get it if they, 1) have a Youtube channel with 100 subscribers or more, and 2) apply for it.  I think I saw this in the v-log not to sure though.....
