New campaign against Mults and Saboteurs.

I assume things are getting better for some since the "smart cool downs" release.  Raiders do not seem to be having as easy of a time. The only thing I see increasing is the amount of smart cheaters. They cheat just enough to gain an advantage but not so much as to make it too obvious. I feel confident that the Developers are working on a solution to this problem. A little bird told me that there are some big changes coming with the switch to Unity. There are so many more things they can do with Unity.  I can't wait.

• RAIDERS are a very organized group of players that move from battle to battle looking for high battle funds to raid. If you don't pay attention they slowly stack the teams. They take turns sharing the battle funds. The mults of the losing side become the winners in the the next raid and vice-versa. Have you ever been in a battle where you think "this is easy, we got this" only to have the battle completely reverse and suddenly those "easy players" find those missing skills an supplies? You sit there scratching your head "Why did they give up? Why aren't the drugging?"  Well you just got raided.

I fully support this campaign. I have been trying to report the mults and saboteur since I lost so many battles because of them. One new definition I like here is the raiders, I have been raided in those Stadium or Silence 100 flag CTF battles before. Good job, Canadian_Eh!

 

Those Gold Box hunters and harvesters are as bad as mults, they contributed nothing to the team and even asking people not to kill them. It was hard to record them without affect my own input to the teamwork. Plus I can't report them with the screenshot showing what they said such as "gold bill?" or "no kill".

This is an excellent topic, I support this campaign. I joined a new battle and it was a good battle in stadium, when a group of raiders druging came and fliped the game, and the fund was around 7,000 with me on top of the winning team (until the raiders joined).

Well, sadly raiders are not breaking any rules. It is not very nice to have happen, but this is what strong players do. Saboteurs are breaking the rules and do receive bans. I do think the penalties should be more severe, but that is not up to me.

Terms used in this topic (for those who do not know already) :

• MULT - a player put into a game for the purpose taking up space on a team. In most cases they are inactive but moved from time to time to prevent being auto kicked.
• SABOTEUR - a player who joins just to sabotage a game. Sometimes for their own fun, sometimes to help the opposite team win. They block you on purpose, push off team mates, hold flags so they can't be captured and etc. etc.
• CHEATERS - these players will use all kinds of tricks. They use hacks, glitches, and 3rd party software to gain an unfair advantage.
• CRYSTAL GRABBER or HARVESTER - a player who joins games for no other reason then to grab crystal boxes. They have no interest in helping their team mates. They try to justify it by not killing anyone. I've even seen them say "please no kill". They take up space that could be used by a good player willing to help their team.
• /VOTE is a command you can use in the game chat. It is designed to call a moderator to a battle that has a mult, saboteur, cheater or hacker. Here is an example ( /vote Canadian_Eh ) If your not sure of the exact spelling of a player push Tab > click on the name > click "copy name" > and paste it after "/vote" in the game chat. You can vote anyone regardless which side they are on.
• GOLD BOX HUNTERS - are players that spend their time going from battle to battle just hunting for gold boxes and in many cases not helping the teams they join. I personally disagree with this behaviour but Tanki encourages it with "Gold Hunter of the Week". So you decide how you feel.

I don't know about the rest of you but I feel cheaters useing hacks are at a high right now. It is getting very difficult to find battles that do not have someone cheating or ruining game play in some way or another. I think the players using cheats have gotten smarter, they do just enough to gain an edge but not enough to be obvious. The game is losing it fun factor and it's appeal because of this. Hopefully Tanki developers move dealing with this issue to the top of the "TODO" list.

I have seen a few of these in battles and agree that they should be ousted.  The only one I am not in 100% support concerns Saboteurs.  There are players with enough experience to know better but who play with little intelligence and hinder the team (perhaps from ignorance).  I will block these players from gaining funds or hinder their ability to play by flipping them (if I can).  I am not trying to sabotage my team.

 

I agree with this almost entirely and do hope that the Mods will indeed do something about it.  Bring in more Mods if need be or even create a 'sub-Mod' role who can kick out players during a battle if they are found to violate these rules.

It all depends what the rest of your team is doing...If they are still trying and you are the only one that is hiding, then yes, you are a mult. If the whole team is hiding, thats different and I suggest, if there is still a long time left on the timer, then leave, you would be better off earning crystals somewhere else. Losing teams get very few crystals anyway. You stand a better chance of earning more crystals in another match, in the same amount of time you would be wasting in an already lost game waiting for a few crystals.

 

And on a side note, Thank-you for taking time to learn about what is right and wrong in this game. You will no doubt become a good team player as you rank. Well done. There are lots of good people in this forum willing to help new players. B)  Sadly there are a lot of idiots too.  :(  :angry:

Can we also consider battles that are called 'parkour' but it ends up as a battle?  Some of these battles seem to be set up as traps to lure unsuspecting players.  

 

It would be nice if you could select 'parkour' when setting up a battle.  This would prevent any player from killing another.

You may be right on the  "trap" part. I personally don't do parkour, so never payed attention. But I have noticed Parkourists coming into battles that are actual battles expecting to do parkour. That is very inconsiderate.

Completely and very understandable I do support this wonderful campaign and I must say that the creator of this campaign deserves only compliments from everyone, Very nice job you have done here by creating this useful topic against the violators of this game.

I have wrote my personal thoughts on every type of the violators and a possible solution that we can do in order to eliminate them.

 

Almost everyday that we enter the community and play in battles or just discuss in the chat we encounter one of the few types of those violators and usually somewhere about 60-130 accounts are being lost and hacked by Cheaters which are frequently being seen in the discussions of the chat or more worse in one to one private battles to ask privately the passwords of players accounts and persuade them for having their passwords, So after the Cheaters are having a high frequency and mostly they appear in the menu discussion chat section I suggest that moderators will need to ban them forever from the chat so they won't be able to communicate with anyone for stealing accounts, This will decrease the amount of stolen accounts in the community by at least 40% and this can also make the game and chat more secure from them.

 

About Mults and Saboteurs, There is really not much to do about that type of violators but only to use the Vote command in order to kick them out of a battle and I really think that the developers should bring back the Kick function into battles in order to kick Mults and Saboteurs, but the Vote command seems to be pretty effective too against them. Mults and Saboteurs are at least only 25% of this whole community but it appears that they appear more than usual in most battles for example in Silence map battles they appear a lot and they usually push off team Shafts from the highest ledge in the blue team territory or when the blue team takes the red team's flag they usually stock up on three Saboteurs when the main Saboteur holds the flag in a locked corner and the other two Saboteurs are blocking his way deliberately to waste the time of the battle. So even for the small number of percentage of the Mults and Saboteurs in the community they are having a very high frequency more than Cheaters.

 

Golden Box Hunters and Crystals Harvesters are the same type of violators but having a different type of goal. While Crystals Harvesters focus on not helping their team mates and capture crystals boxes faster than other players, The Golden Box Hunters coming to battles for no other reason than catching a Golden Box and sometimes Crystals Harvesters are trying to capture Golden Boxes too just like their siblings. In my personal thought I don't think that there are a lot of those violators but only quite a few so I think that they are having a low frequency but in case they are already encountered we should use the same solution like in the previous paragraph; Use the Vote command to kick them out.

 

Raiders are a serious organization of players that are usually having upgraded hulls and turrets and using drugs to overpower another team, They join long time battles such as 100 flags with no timer or above 100 minutes battles to raid the battle fund the have it for themselves while all other team leaves the battle and letting them finish the battle and get their crystals depending on the battle fund. My only suggestion is to leave the battle if you are already there or not even enter the battle because you will end up being lost with no crystals just like the creator of this topic wrote, For me raiders are having a low frequency since long time battles are rare so the raiders are rare too.

 

That's all I wanted to comment in this topic I do very appreciate your work on this campaign and the topic and I do hope that the list of the paragraphs I just wrote with my solutions may be handy and useful to you and I am supporting your campaign gladly so good luck.

This is now the single biggest issue facing honest players please can we get something worked out to get rid of mutli players who cheat and ruin the game

Why not introduce the rule that if a player gets reported by 6 or more players then he/she gets banned. I know it has its own defects but still....

Hmm... Would I rather be in a loser team playing and wait about 25 minutes by pausing and playing every so often to get like 3k crystals, or would I rather play another battle where I would be in the winner team, but get 500 crystals.

What kind of games are you playing where you can be on the losing side, be a mult and still earn 3000 crystals? You would need to have the highest score and that would be very hard if your being a mult.
