Can The players on opposite team give someone kick vote?

100% agree in this. I was one of the top 3 constantly and fight for my team, but in the end, mults and saboteurs always wins! 

Total number of games:8 Lose:5, Won:3

 

I got few silly questions: What if people are too lazy to vote for the weaker members? Also, how about making this automated without people voting? Like, the system auto kicks you when you are not scoring enough, over X period of time?

The current issue is that there very large organized groups of players (well raiders really) that have pooled large numbers of accounts to use as mults to insure the group members get all the battlefunds.  Many of the accounts just get used on some sort of rotation in order to build all the accounts up. Everyone in the group knows the login and passwords for all the accounts available to be used, so they just pick from the list. It is going to be really hard to fight this, unless Tanki decides to do something about it.

 

The fact that Tanki refuses to do anything about the issue of mults, saboteurs, and raiders rises a big question.  Why? There must be some reason they ignore these issues, one they don't want us to know. They may give use excuses about "waiting for unity" or "not a priority right now".

 

Well if you plan on waiting for unity, does that mean all the mults will have free reign in the Flash version? This excuse makes no sense. As for "not a priority", well when does it become one? These same issues have been around for years but are now getting unbearable, and yet you do nothing. Why don't you tell us the real reason you don't want to do anything? 

 

Speaking of Unity, How's the progress coming. Sure seems to be taking a long time. Any updates you give just seem to give us the same recycled info, pictures and video. I even know a few players who believe Unity is just another empty promise designed to keep us around waiting for something new and exciting. Just like Tanki 2.0

You can't just vote for a player just because they are weaker. You can vote when both them and you satisfy certain conditions. I did include a bolt-on system vote suggestion which facilitates kicking. See the spoiler, bottom of the original post. It's essentially what you have said.

Think I might give up tonight. No matter how many battles I enter, I'm always on the side full of mults. Increasingly difficult to find an honest battle. Tanki failing big time lately.

I don't think automated kicking is easily to be implemented. The score is not always a usefull measure for your aid to the team.

Maybe you sit in a strategic position and guard an access to your base. The enemy learns you are there.. and does only some test-attacks at this side from time to time to see if it is still well guarded. So you can never score as much as an attacker or core devender.

But if you would move away.. the flank would be wide open.

Therefor I like this system.. the team votes who shall be kicked. And if - for which reason ever - such a valuable flank defender gets voted for a kick, he may still decide to switch his position to earn some more score and not loose his share in the fund. Someone else would most likely fill his position if it is found empty.

The following comments may be offensive to some players. 

 

 

I have reviewed most of the comments about potential problems with a system like this. I seems to me that most of the people complaining about or have a problem with this system, fit into 3 categories. 

  1. Selfish and inconsiderate players, who don't care about anyone else.
  2. Dishonest players, which also don't care about anyone and do what they do to serve their own interests. 
  3. Players that just don't understand the concept or the need for this system. 

The people that fit in the #3 category may be there for a few different reasons. Either they didn't  take the time to read, or can't properly read english, or lack the education to understand what they have read.

 

 

I don't care if you believe me or not, but this game is absolutely filled with players from the first 2 categories. I used to play this game 7 days a week, several hours a day, so probably around 25 -30 hours a week. Now I hardly play 3 -5  a week. If you want to know why, it is because it has become very difficult to find good battles. Ones without mults,saboteurs,hackers,cheaters,and players who don't have a clue whats going on. Until Tanki HQ gets their heads out of the sand and do something about this issue, it will not get any better. It will only get worse and after the latest SMP updates we will soon be facing players that do not have good enough equipment to fight in the battles their ranks will allow, and most of these players will be too selfish to go play in appropriate battles. They will come into the high rank battles in search of crystals or will join the large groups of players that go around raiding battles by taking turns being the mults because thats all their accounts will be good for. 

 

What I just described is exactly why @AbsoluteZero came up with this idea in the first place and exactly why I chose to work with him during the development stages. Now what I can't figure out is why Tanki HQ is so unwilling to add this system. I have heard lots of excuses but none that make sense. So the only reason I can come up with is, that it is in Tanki's best interest to have all these people ruining honest games, it most increase sales of crystals for supplies and stronger equipment in order to try and combat this plaque.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i remember u put this in your other topic of mults and saboteurs and i agree. but we cannot blame tanki for not blocking out hackers because it takes a lot of time to find loopholes and faults in the system and solve them, but they could easily implement such a system like this, which i feel is not too complicated to create. But why don't they atleast answer ur question, its not something foolish, and they must have a good reason

I hope tanki is not what you make it out to be...

Another way to help make this fair, is that the kick option is removed once per battle only for the duration that someone is paused. 

 

We all need to go pee occasionally!!!

but seriosly we cant help it if somebody needs to pee, i mean y do we have to stop the whole system for just that 1 random person who couldnt take care of his business... also what if someone just pauses for a very short time etc. etc.

I have written this considering that you have made this comment seriously... if not, forgive me for my poor sense of humour :@

raiding if not done professionaly can actually be banned under other rules. This is not a very strong example, buti remember a rule that mentions that if any player doesnt do anything about mults in either team, they have potential to be punished. Or teaming up with players in the other team requires ban. like this there could be many other rules that could be applied to raiders. that way raiders too can be curbed

also dont judge me, but i think that the only way to get answer now is to protest and not to be passive. this could mean multing ourselves (if supported by a lot of people, means game spirals out of control and tanki makes it their "priority"), quitting the game (no players=no money=change, although this is the hardest choice lol), in order to force them make changes.

These are very extreme suggestions, so please dont actually consider this.

in summary: NOTHING! that or maybe they feel this is too complicated for them.

Kick2 goes beyond just score - it also looks at rate at which you score and compares each aspect to the averages taken from the rest of the team in order to see if you're contributing adequately or not. The excuse about camping or guarding has very little credence.

 

This system has been primarily designed with voting in mind but I did include a bolt-on suggestion called system vote which has a degree of automation to it and it could be easily implemented.  The hard part is working out the trigger conditions which is where the community comes in.

Exactly. A player's work rate is an average of score divided by time in battle. That number doesn't just drop to zero the moment you want to take a break.  Example, Played for 20 minutes already and have accumulated 400 points - that is 20 points per minute. If you then take a 5 minute break you still would have accumulated 400 pts but you would have spent 25 minutes in the game - that is 16ppm. So it's not the end of the world if you need a break. The key is to get some points first and get yourself into a safe zone so you can't receive votes. Only those taking too long on breaks or taking too many will find themselves at risk. 

 

There are no excuses anymore not to have this - everything is covered.

 

And ----

The new update is on the way to enable you to return to a battle with your score intact after you have left it.

read  last few pages. tanki does not answer questions regarding this for no specific reason.

maybe tanki does not feel the need for this because nobody has actually complained too much about this and have only made passive remarks and questions. That is probably why tanki says that it is "not a priority right now". i checked the plans in the future for tanki in the wiki (yes, there is a page for that) and they mentioned things such as mouse controls and new supplies, but never a new system of preventing cheaters from the game.

they have done things such as remove bugs which stop hackers but as canadien said, never mentioned why they havent added the system yet, so we might have to assume for now its for profit purposes.

Hazel has responded once hinting that something like this is needed again and will probably be implemented first in pro-battles. I can't link you to his post because I can't remember where I read it now.

There has been many complaints about the problem of mults, quite a few here in the ideas and suggestions section and I'm sure there are plenty of players who wish to complain but don't want to be labelled as a complainer so they keep quiet or add their voice by supporting topics such as this one.

i think now they have mentioned improvements in anti-cheat software, but not exactly the kick2.

I'm not sure, but maybe they are not adding kick2 because they already have the anti-software in place.

Don't read too much into the Development Plans page, I certainly don't. They don't disclose everything.  Who said they are not adding it? I just told you that Hazel thinks a kick system should be brought back. Don't confuse anti cheat software with the mult problem.

doesnt make sense why... it wouldnt be a huge surprise if they actually put that in the list, because why not? The only reason i can think of for it not being placed in the list is because it is too far ahead. And don't think it is not at all a reliable source, because previous major updates, like supplies change etc. have also been mentioned.

I can't believe this... on pro battles, matches are also being fixed, especially on 150 point CP matches. I'm going to get a camera ready for this kind of **** next time. The sooner it gets fix, the better. I mean why play this game fair at all when matches are going to be fixed anyway?  :( The developers must be thinking of some other money making business such as 'New OP' kits!  :(  :mellow:  :unsure:  :ph34r:
