In Tanki Online (flash):  Forever.

In TankiX (unity): Only half as long.

What do you expect when you're going around trashing this game and its creators, or is it just that one dev?

BTW, you two suck as gold hunters!

Trashing no, criticising where criticism is due yes. Sucking up and brown nosing doesn't do anything for this game and it's creators whereas well constructed feedback, ideas and suggestions does. It gets the community involved and serves a purpose to an extent. It's tanki's choice to listen or not but hey, they don't automatically get our respect just because we play the game. Respect has to be earned but some still think that if they get their noses brown enough, a bit of power might come their way. Well good luck with that and I hope you get what you want and all that it entails. Me, I'm nobody's gimp. Well done with your golds. You truly are great.

So, when you "criticize" a developer it's constructive feedback, while when he does the same it's disrespect?!
A truly respectful person will always respect others regardless. Keep defending your acquisitive "respect is earned, not given" logic.

Hazel may have an uppish tone, as I said before, and that's his personality. I don't think he means to be contemptuous, but again his personality doesn't help him much in that regard. So, it may be better for him to keep quiet. He said many times that he's not the one calling the shots. I blame TO management for many of their "bad" decisions and disregard for many of the serious problems in this game.

And despite the importance of a better, effective moderation system, I don't think this is the most urgent issue for the game at the moment. Many other things should to be sorted out before dealing with the "mults".

No, you have this wrong. Criticising game features or the lack of them is constructive feedback. Criticising a developer is warranted after our feedback is replied to in such a way it continuously mocks us.   As I said, respect is earned and not automatically granted.

Respect doesn't have to be earned, in my opinion. Respect is something that is, or at least should, be there from the beginning, and decrease according to people's behavior. There's no way you start with a 0% respect, then increase according to his behavior. You start with 100%. You start with something which can be called 'respect'.

No I disagree. It doesn't start with 0% respect at all. There is neither respect nor disrespect from the start. It doesn't take much to earn respect. Simple thank yous or acknowledgements etc

You tried to suggest I think respect starts at 0%. I disagreed with that manipulation.  It doesn't start off with 100% either. I can respect people's space & property, I can respect people's rights etc, I can also be respectful but this doesn't mean I automatically respect the person. That judgement is reserved until I observe their actions up close and personal.

Alright, so we have different opinions. I think it starts at 100% and decreases and OBVIOUSLY those that have 90% + are extremely rare, while you think it starts at 50% (or something like that, right?) and increases/decreases. I think there's no reason why you wouldn't start with 100% because everyone deserves the same respect at the start, then they do whatever they want with the respect that you are giving them. If they do brave acts, then the respect will only decrease by 1% or 2% (because nothing's perfect). So the best way to have the most respect is to not be known. Quite funny, right? Well obviously this is just an idea of the 'perfect' world, because in real life people don't have respect for unknown people, which, theoretically shouldn't be like that. But some other might do some unwanted acts, which will make the respect that you have for them immediately decrease by 20-30%.

Thus, respect can only be earned if you lost it before, in my opinion. (--> because there's no rule like that in real life, of course).

Been watching this topic for quite a while. I think it's a great idea, since multing/sabotaging is currently one of the biggest issues in Tanki Online, and this seems to offer a good solution.

Such a shame that good ideas like this don't receive more attention from the developers, or even an excuse as to why they can't consider it. Even if they can't take this idea, can they not come up with something of their own (as long as it's "better" than the current kick system)?

Excuse me for interfering but I think you confuse respect with politeness. Politeness is there from the beginning (or not, due to personal cultivation, one is raised to be polite or less / or not at all) but respect is something totally different. It is earned, through exceptional behavior.

Tanki developers have not earned any respect during the one and a half year I play Tanki, but to be fair, they did not received any politeness as well. It is true that English forum is toxic and a lot of brats demand certain things and misbehave if they don't get them.

Forum maintenance need experts (professionals) and the lower the average age, the harder to keep high standards on behavior.

Hmm… Politeness is a way to show a person how much you respect her. So this means that politeness goes with respect.

This is exactly what I think about respect. :) Should be there, but 100% of the time it's not. (Because this is not an ideal world).

Please speak for yourself… Not that I don't agree with you, but simply spreading this kind of information without any evidence can lead people to -sometimes, sometimes not- wrong facts.

Absolutely agreed, but hey, this is a game, and those that play it are kids! And although we may sometimes think "adults can manage adults, then kids should be able to manage kids!", this forum can hardly be controlled.

If pointing out the flaws in their decisions and the game is "trashing" then I guess I'm guilty. But I'm pretty sure many don't understand the difference between criticism and trash talk.

As for gold boxes, I don't bother chasing them. This is a tank game not a Gold Box Hunter game. While everyone is fighting over a gold box, I try to capture flags or cook everybody gathered around the gold box.  I was getting an average of 4 kills each time a gold dropped on the Halloween map.  And before you ask "What about people's gold box count?" may answer is, I don't care. I had 2  15000 crystal missions to complete.

Where I come from, RESPECT is earned by many actions, including politeness.  A certain level of respect can be assumed and given at the beginning but quickly disappears when that same level of respect is not returned. We get treated with rude comments, little appreciation, and a lot of arrogance, and you expect us to treat them with RESPECT. Give your head a shake.

2 years ago, I started giving feedback with the respect I assumed they deserved. Today the respect is completely gone.

Respect is a two way street. The problem is, some people don't understand that.

It could be if they really made an effort. I'm not talking about the mods. I'm referring to Tanki HQ.  Loosen the purse strings and offer some pay and real tools and  maybe they can get some mods who will care enough to stick around and do the job.

Here's the folks I have no respect for.

http://s1127.photobucket.com/user/dfoofnik/media/Ridiculous%20Raiders.png.html?

The devs? Well, they probably fall into two categories: one group trying to get new players and keep old players,

and the others blindly following the managers who will take the game into the toilet as long as they make money...

Of course, there are also the hopeless gameboys who thought having "encouraging messages" on Early Ending was a good idea.

Every time I hear that stupid klaxon horn, I cringe,

Tanki still doing nothing to combat the serious problem of mults...

Why not just make it legal?

Yes, it's a disease that can't go away... Even with M4 equipment still hard to defeat enemy with noob saboteurs on team.

Even doesn't care about the I & S Section, so chances of implementing this is 0%.

What we need is name and shame mults.

Anyone banned for sabotage should have warning triangles next to their name on the scoreboard so we can identify them better so we can keep clear of them.

That's the least... more important is that mults' action is proven more easier than having to shoot and upload a video... but Tanki doesn't care to establish a better way...

You know, after all, maybe it''s a lost cause. Maybe this game is meant to go down the toilet.
