Well...  i have some ideas.  what if you:

1)make the central castle stay the same,

2)block the sideways around the castle so peoples are forced to get inside it to get to the other side (hornets whit nitro could capture many flags in minutes by running by the little sideways around the walls)

3) raise the central cement baseplate of the castle or lower the level of the road

4) make red and blue base accessible only by one ramp that faces on the road and ofcourse by the castle

5) instead of sad empity roads, add many props here like barricades, ramps, etc etc. where i can download alternativa editor to edit the map myself?

Well, a promise is a promise. :)

Due to the few times I played the map, I noticed that most of the game was around the flags and not in the central yard, neither on the wall.

So I tried to change the map so that the players could fight all over the map and not only around the flags.

And here how it goes.

We can put two big platforms on the sides of the map and two small ones on opposite corners.

The two big platforms will give access to the wall area (which sould expand a little, minimizing the center of the map) and make as well the game on the sides more exciting. Via the platforms the sides will communicate with the center making playble the hole map, while the two small platforms will provide a place for shafts and guarding rails, encreasing the element of surprise.

Here are a few raw drawings (thanks to corel draw  ;)  )

Notice that the platforms are higher than the central area (inside and outside the central yard) but not as high as the wall itself. The air bridges are somewhat rising, so that they can access the wall area.

Tell me what you think please.. :)

p.s. I'd looove to work with a map maker ;) , do you hear oh wonderfull Devs??

Ok, this is the time when you guys can use photoshop mad skillz and come up with some ideas:

Here's my suggestion:

Why not open up SOME of the blocking walls which block the way from going round the building? I myself believe that people will get more interested in the map.It will be more interesting to play too.Or, maybe not every wall.Maybe 1-2 in a direction. But, that's up to you.

I'm not even sure what should be changed. Lol.

In my opinion it's pretty much perfect!

It's like a perfect blend of Fort Knox and Christmas map. Remember? The "Night-mode" Christmas map.

Most likely due to the square roads outside. That was extremely fun.

Also, I find it unique in that instead of the map continuing to ascend, which is a bit cliché in my opinion, it actually descends into a courtyard type. Very nice, and will definitely help close-ranged turrets as well. And the corners on the roads provide comfortable spots for heavy Railgunners and/or Shafts to came in. Especially since it's a long road, if an enemy does not die to a Shaft-shot, he/she will have to get off the road FAST or else be finished off with the arcade-shot.

Nope, it's not a perfect map. Far from it.

A perfect map is playable all over. Cologne was playable only at the two flag areas and a little bit sideways. It certainly needs changes that will expand the playing area.

I think that being so small (the distance between flags is very short, depenting on how fast one goes from one flag to the other) turns it in a kind of string or dipole... it looses parts of real area.

Anyways, too much words aren't needed. Just a good idea for improvement.

Just wanted to point out two things:

A. My view.

B. Pretty much perfect (almost, nearly)

It's got an amazing idea, so I wouldn't want anything to be changed drastically. That's what I meant. :D

I think I can tell why you think the distance between them is short. When you look at Fort Knox I, the distance between the flags directly are also short. However, there is a building right smack in the middle. So instead of going through it ,you had to go AROUND it, where multiple structures and enemy presence can be found, making it a bit more dangerous, and longer than it seems.

Whereas if I look at the map displayed here, there is no building right in the middle, just two smaller ones on the sides of the courtyard, so you can just dash through diagonally.

Now that I think about it, perhaps eliminating the ramps leading behind the flag could be a way to "squish" the playing field more towards inside.

Or perhaps moving the flag base entirely, along with shifting the respawn zones? That could also be a way of doing that.

I personally think that the barricades barricading the 2 side paths should be removed, making more room for decoy attackers.

Hazel i thought of a way better idea....make Edinburgh and cologne integrated...aka the castle part is like in Edinburgh but you add the outside in Cologne

that's what I was thinking but I was away so I couldn't post it

In my opinion I prefer Cologne, it feels a bit like Edinburgh but with more room. i had a great time playing, I loved annoying the other team by mining the entire front ramp :D

Ok. This is my new proposal, a less mild change in the initial map.
I removed two buildings srom the side, one from the center and one from the blue map area.
I made the wall divide the map into two areas and I gave red flaf a higher ground. Top level covers more of the map with some extra ramps so that players can decent in the central yard and move in and out of the center via the wall.

Edinburgh and Cologne are fairly similar except Cologne is bigger. You can vote to save Edinburgh canadarules when the time comes but the likely result is that Edinburgh will be removed, sorry!
