I wholeheartedly dislike this update. Most--if not all--players know that this game takes time. Having to complete challenges only discourages players and further suppresses the game's initial focus: Fun.

 

Tanki Online is, from what I've gathered, a game about fun. That's the reason why this game has no storyline, no quests, no nothing. This game is a game about fighting. From the moment you first play the game to the moment you close it, all you do is play PvP. Forcing players to do 'daily challenges' to obtain the used-to-be freebies hinders the #1 reason people play this game: to have fun. Most players can't play more than a few hours, tops. I myself only play one hour a day if I have the time, and on weekends I can play for a few hours--but only on weekends. Having to complete deadlines is absurd and ridiculous when the game depends on time to start and finish. One has to play at least 15 minutes for a match to finish, and one does not get to say, "I'm done!" and stop. If the player leaves, the match was essentially wasted playtime and life time.

 

Designating challenges will hinder gameplay; it will not assist it.

Daily Missions is not my idea,my idea is Daily Challenges,there is no need to rename this :x

Tanki's concept is little different,but that change has a great(positive)impact....

 

And for the rest w8ing for this update or not waiting for it listen up.

A battle with time is a lost battle,wait patiently or not if you don't want update,but yea you get it xD

But if you really dislike this update,you must know that my topic is not the one they'll use,so yea...It'll be different.

I would like to introduce you to my idea "Daily Challenges"
This idea is about TO that will give you 3 random challenges every day (Starting from server restart or from the moment you log in), that you will have to complete.

Example of how it should look like for someone of rank Commander; 
(23/05/2015) I changed(lowered actually ;) )the amount of what you had to do for some missions,you can find a reason below at the end,but don't stop reading yet :lol:

            Equipment: Any
            Map: Any map for 6x6+ players
            If available: Format allowed? Yes(excluding parkour)
            Battle Conditions: Battle has to have atleast 7 active players in each team
            If 2 or more players held the flag,the player who drove the flag fastest to base will get the point.
            


           
           Destroy 357 enemies in a DM;Reward 4540 crystals+40 Double Damage+18 mines          65/357
           Details

           


           Equipment: Any
           Map: Any
           If available: Format Allowed? No
           Battle Conditions: There must be atleast 12 active players in the DeathMatch

           You will get a point for a kill when you meet the following requirements:
           When killing a target,you must have dealt a certain amount of % of the enemy tank his health.

           Heavy hulls 61%-70% / Medium Hulls 70%-85% / Light Hulls 86%-95%....

As you can see there are 3 Challenges and 2 Optional ones. Now you're probably wondering,why do you include Optional ones?
I will tell you right now. The 3 Challenges are for  the commen player who just wants to have fun and also wants to earn some easy crystals,but the Optional ones are for the hardcore gamer,who really wants to make it in this game at any cost :lol:
If you're able to complete all these challenges,without the optional ones ofcourse,you will be rewarded by an extra prize,which is secret... :ph34r:

Now,what kind of Challenges will there be?

Play with a specific gun and....

Play with *any gun* and kill the player who is carrying the flag. 0/69Captures(example)
Play with Thunder and get a double kill while in a no supplies battle. 0/45 Doube Kills(example)
Play with Firebird and kill xxx amounts of people with afterburn. 0/32 Kills(example)
Play with Isida and heal xxx amounts of allies. (Will be counted in XP)  120/650 XP(example) or Counted Damage Restored 459/3250
Play with Shaft and deal xxx amount of damage.(Will be counted in Damage) 326/5600 Damage(example)
Play with *any gun* and kill Dictator m3. 12/55 or Play with *any gun* and deal damage to Dictator m3+. 1500/3780(Damage)

Play with a specific hull and...
Play with *any hull* and capture the flag. 0/50
Play with Viking and kill .....
Okay I couldn't really figure out more for these,I'm also running short on time XD

Capture a specific amount of...
Play with Hornet and capture 50 flags. 21/50
Play with Wasp and capture 48 capture points. 23/48
And so on....
Light hulls are most likely to get the cap the flag Challenges because when you tell a Mammoth to capture the flag,you'll  only slow down the game's progress....

Mixed Challenges
Play with Wasp+Freeze and Capture xxx amounts of flags. 1/50
Play with Mammoth+Twins and destroy 50 Hunters. 7/50
Play with Titan+Vulcan and Capture 60 Capture Points. 18/60
Play with Firebird+Viking and deal 9500 damage with afterburn. 3678/9500

What conditions are these held in....?
All Challenges are held under special conditions.

Destroying a target
When you have to kill a kind of target,you'll have to have dealt atleast x% or more of the players Health Points. But it may vary for Lighter and Heavy hulls,as Light hulls are easier to kill,you'll have to deal a larger % of the hulls Health,and the opposite for Heavier hulls.
But it should always be 50%+,or else you'll have to distribute the points for the challenge between 2 players if they have the same challenge,which is not good,in my opinion. Heavy hulls 61%-70% / Medium Hulls 70%-85% / Light Hulls 86%-95%....

Capturing a flag/capture point.
When capturing a flag,points will be given this way.(Example) When you're in a map,Berlin for example and you take the flag,if you manage to capture the flag all by yourself,you will get 1 point. But,when you take the flag and you can not survive and you lose it,but someone else manages to take the flag and capture it,the points will only be given to one player. The player who gets the point has to have the flag captured faster then the other guy. Speed is what matters here,but how do you know who carried the flag the fastest over a distance?

It will be like this; distance/time = speed. So you can not really cheat by driving a bigger distance then the other,because then you have also wasted some time and your speed is higher,so the shorter the speed the better :lol:

Now you may argue that having driven 100m in 20 sec may result in 5m/s and 200m in 40sec will also resultt in 5m/s. Who will the points be given to? To the guy who has travelled the least distance ofcourse,as it took less effort ;)
 
Pretty much everything....
Now this is a tricky one,pretty much every Challenge will have a condition the challenge has to be done in,for example; When you get a "Capture xx flags" challenge it will tell you that it the flag has to be capped in a battle where there are 8x8+ players or more players. Number may vary on the amounts of flags that have to be capped. This is to prevent people from teaming up and completing a challenge like a cheater. If the players in the battle are less then 8x8,it will not continue counting,if there are 8x8 players again,it will continue counting.

Maps?
Maybe there can be Challenges telling you to play in that specific map and to complete the challenge there.The maps will most likely be very unpopular maps,this will create variety in the game so there won't be dominating maps like Silence or Polygon anymore :ph34r:

Other ways of counting
As you've probably seen above in some examples,not everything is counted the same way. Like 1 flag = 1 extra point,but for some challenges it may be the amount of damage you do or even something else! O:
 
Counting using damage
Now,how would you calculate damage? Seriously I don't know how TO works,this is up to devs....But,in what other kinds of ways can you count a challenge? How about counting damage? This will be easier then killing targets and you also can not cheat on it :P But the number would be far greater then the amount of people you would have to destroy. 
 
Special: Thunder's Splash Damage
This one is for thunder,instead of normal damage,how about Splash Damage? But now you're probably wondering: "Wouldn't it create mults and people shooting walls or the ground instead of the actual tank?",I can already tell you. ,no,it won't. Why won't it? Because it will still count the splash damage you do when hitting 1 target or more. 
 
Special: Isida's Healing Ability
As you probaly already know,Isida has the ability to restore the Health Points of allies,but many Isida users these days don't do it often and just rush into the enemy base to get the flag,playing solo and not doing much to actually help the team in a good way.
Isida is made to heal,and that's what this challenge is all about. There will be challenges where you'll have to heal allies and it will be counted in "Damage Restored",this has to be a fairly big number,to stimulate Isida users to heal allies when needed and not just play for themselves. I do say this will help newbies learn how to play Isida the right way...I know there are already people who know how to use Isida well(I've played it myself m3 with Dic m3 for like 6 ranks xD) but TO is growing and we need to teach newbies how to play it properly,I know I've said this for a 100000x times already but still xD :P 
 
Firebird Afterburn
Many consider firebird's afterburn not so usefull,but what if you could earn prizes with it?

Which Challenges is for which player? How will Challenges be sorted out by rank?
Challenges with specific equipment will only pop up for players who actually have the highest modification of equipment available for their rank,so there won't be Generalissimos playing with Firebird m0 and Wasp m3,as this would create mults.
 
The difficulty will depent on the rank of the player. The difficulty will increase once you make progress in the game,so for low ranked players the challenges won't be like 'Capture 100 flags",as the gameplay is way slower and this will take the whole day to complete.It will be more like "Capture 30 flags" ,which is more suited for lower ranked players. But,it still  has to be "challenging"...Hah get it? XD
Nah you probably don't....

Rewards
What kind of rewards do you think there can be?
Not only crystals...That would be pretty boooooooooring ;-; Maybe supplies? Or extension of your pro pass? Maybe even a DCC which you can win on "Get 2x the amount of cry you buy for events",so you would actually get x4 cry? There can be an endless amount of rewards,maybe even a FREE Micro-Upgrade for anything you can choose?

TO keeps up with your progress.
As you get  Challenges,and you manage to complete them all the same day,you'll get slightly more Challenging Challenges XD the next day,but if you can't complete them all,you'll get slightly less Challenging Challenges the next day,and so on....

I think this will be a nice income for players,but mainly non-buyers.I also think you won't have "simple mults" anymore in the games as they are probably too busy or are too focused on trying to complete the challenges which will result in more activity. It may also increase the variety of equipment used in battles and the variety in maps that are currently in the game.

Allright then guys,I've received ALOT of feedback from you all,lots of positive,lots of negatives,but the most important one was the one of the amount of what you had to do. Yes,at first I made the quests big,to let people focus on gameplay and helping teammates. This wasn't always the case though. When trying to do mission 'Capture flag xxx times" then I did put a pretty big number,it was very stupid from me and I just found out why. 

So for CTF if you would have to cap like 21 flags,you would block your teammates alot and stopping gameplay
(Even though I added restrictions like how much you've hold the flag,distance/time = speed,that would need lots of calculations so not realistic though). But when only needing to do a few llike 5 or 6 then you wouldn't steal flags from teammates ALOT,just 5-6 times xD

So yea lowering certain numbers for certain missions is indeed a good idea from you all ;)

The Weapon Specific Challenges will be sorted out by rank and your garage,example; If you are a Warrant Officer 1(= example rank) you'll get Weapon Specific challenges only for Weapons that you have m1+,if you have isida m0 it will never tell you a challenge with Isida in,and if you're General rank(=example rank),it will be for m2+ Weapons,so if you have a Weapon m0 you will never get a challenge with that as it will create alot of mults :)  (Thanks to XenoPhobia and AjayTonymathew2 for telling me about this problem :) )
Also,the challenges their difficulty will be based on ranks :P

This is a nice income for non-buyers. And it has a nice side for tanki too,more actively playing players :).
And not to forget,NO mults ;) ,as I'm sure they won't be wasting their time multing when they can get crystals from easy challenges :)

The current system can be surely removed for the daily log-in reward...

Instead, create a tab or something by the name "Daily Quest" or "Daily Guide" or something like that...

There, it would show different-different tasks that are to be done by the tanker...like the ones said once in V-Log....and the rewards for that could be:- crystals, supplies and EXP (I believe that EXP should be given for all completed quest)...and the difficulty and reward for each may vary with rank of player and type of mission...

 

:excl: In case a player is unable to complete a task, but has partially completed it, so it must not reset the next day, rather, it should be continued till the player completes it..

 

Then, and after that, there could be "Daily Check-in(s)"...

There, you don't get rewards daily, but on basis of days of log-ins per month...like say, logging-in for 2 days (in total), will reward you something...then for 5 total days you got something...then after 10, then after 17, then after 26 total days of log-ins per month...they could be small rewards that shall tend to increase with the number of days that the tanker logged-in, in that month...

 

According to me, these two things together would be a great combination....

I could give some more detailed information about each feature of these things…but if  I told them in this post, it would go toooo long…as long as a whole page…so i didn't want to make it all messy..

Extended version

 

When a tanker logs-in in his account, then a timer can start, to animate it, it can be a treasure box...the timer would be of an hour, after every 1 hour of login, it would be giving some bonuses..this way, those who play more will get more reward then those who play less..(loophole: a player might just leave the tanki server open and after every hour, will click that box to get the reward, so its not much successful...u may leave it)

 

 

in the total login per month bonus (that i said in my idea), the bonuses can be :

after completing 2 days, u may get -  5 units of any  2  supplies.

then after completing 5 days - u may get 100 crystals and 10 of any 2 supplies

then after 10 - 200 crystals and 10 of all supplies

then after 17 - 500 crystals and 20 of all supplies

then the last, after doing 28 days of total login in that month - 1k crystals and 30 of all supplies..

[ I don’t think that this amount is too much...if u say about the 28th day, then it should be deserved as player has at least logged in...also, all players are going to get it on the basis of the logins..so it would neither create any unbalance in game..

then as the month is completed, this would reset and get restarted from 1st day....

and let’s say, if a player could log in only for 27 days in that month..this is his fault..he should not get that award of the 28th day, and it SHOULD reset at the starting of every month so that all players start wid equal..

 

 

in the daily tasks, players who argue that a player would invite his friend and kill him and let the friend kill him so as to complte the task, this is NOT AT ALL any problem...the motive is to make the tanker play the game..this is done so that players just dont do the login and go offline....even if they had invited friends, they HAVE PLAYED THE GAME!! so simple as that.!!.

in actual, player would actually not focus on it...read further..my idea that brings out the reason why players would not be focusing much at the daily...

before that, some suggestions for the daily tasks:

speak in server chat, REWARD - 100 EXP

win 2 battles

catch a gold box

self destruct by diving outside the map

...AND YES!!..if a player is unable to complete any task, but has partially completed it (like in the one is said: win 2 battles, and he has won 1, but not 2), then the task should not reset the next day, but it should be continued until its completed..this is because the player would not seriously focus on this (as u will read it further) and they can be completed side-by-side...and at the same time, there should be limited daily tasks..once completed, disappeared..and then come bak again on the next day..maybe some new different daily tasks, or no problem, it may be same daily..

 

 

there could be also, Main Quest apart from Daily Quest..when they are once completed by a tanker, they never appear again...and they are not so easily completed...also the reward for completing a main quest is lot lot lot more that that recieved from completing daily..this will encourage the players to focus on main quest and not the daily ones...this means the daily quest will be left for players who cant play much (u also might be knowing that all tankers can not play equal amounts of time..some play for half hour..some play for 5 hours..)

the main quest could be like:(these are just examples..u can think and create any quest)

catch 50 gold boxes...REWARD - 10k crystals and 10k EXP

kill 1000 mahmooths...REWARD - (you can decide for all..i gave and example of reward in previous question so you can realise, that player is then NOT going to focus only on daily..the the problem of so called "friend" thing is removed..thus, players who are in strong need would only focus on the daily....this would enhance the game balance)

ya, back to point, examples:

play and win 50 TDM/CP/CTF/DM in noise(or any map)...like that..

complete a 15 mins battle without dieing even once...(this is actually hard..it just sounds easy)...

and so on...

Since these are coming, I thought of something. Instead of calling it Daily Gifts, call it "Daily Missions" or "Daily Quests," etc.

 

Everyday, each player will be given 3 missions to do. They can select which mission they want to do first, and if they complete it, they get a reward for it. The 3 missions will consist of 3 different levels: Easy-Medium-Hard. If they do the easy mission, their reward would reflect on the mission they did, but if they did a hard mission, they get a bigger reward.

 

The degree of difficulty of these missions would mostly depend on their rank. If I was a Lieutenant Colonel, my missions would be easier than if I was a Generalissimo. (eg. If I was a Major, my mission should be something like "Win a CP battle." If I was a Field Marshal, my mission should be like "Capture a flag without using supplies.")

 

These missions would reset themselves after the server update.

 

Also, a player should be given a chance to cancel the mission, but they wouldn't be allowed to do another mission of that level until the next server update.

 

They should have a command called "/cancel" or "/dismiss" if someone wants to cancel the mission.

Daily missions are more fun than rewards,rewards are boring only small amount of supplies and x2 crystals are rare. I hope they will add atleast 25% bigger rewards!

Rewards become bigger when your rank is high..Just like crystal earning And it also depend on difficulty of mission.

I didn't vote because I just want to try the update before. It looks good and it could make the game more "alive" (maybe less mults). But Tanki must give better rewards than now ok.  :rolleyes:

Who else has a feeling that they'll only give out supply rewards, not crystal rewards, to prevent it becoming "too easy" to get crystals? Maybe it's just the pessimist in me talking...but it sounds like something they would do. :unsure:

Papaya14,tanki can be greedy for money nowadays for sources for Unity,but they won't be that greedy :lol: 

And mults,you can't mult on such a low rank,rewards don't matter that much yet there :p

Cool! Seems to be working fine so far...

 

Although I do hope that you sort out the issue with the interface being English and missions being Russian  :P

Naaay... I was lazy adding every translation to test server so.. yeah, not a bug.
