all weapons and maps in clan wars in starladder

Recommended Posts

hey, tanki online why are you not allowing all weapons in tanki online clan wars in starladder . some are not good in railgun and smoky what of them. why did you keep other weapons you could keep only smoky and rail. you should allow ricochet, isida, firebirs, etc. all cannot be good in smoky and railgun

and even you should use small maps like atra and sandbox. some computers are also slow. not reffering to mines, mines is fast.

I agree.  Having to use specific weapons is probably the only thing keeping me from applying to join a clan.  With that endgame in mind and crystal supplies being limited I've have no choice but to buy what is accepted for clan play.  Besides there is already a disproportionate amount of railgun users, it might be have a more beneficial balancing effect to the game as a whole.  Why create a game with a variety of options only to create incentives such as this to narrow down what is viable?

I'm sure tanki has enough of a community to support additional types of games.  I'm not saying to allow any combination, there would need to be a few checks and balances, but what harm could come from having more options available?

Although I understand why someone that doesn't like rail or smoky would like his / her favorite weapon in a starladder match, I have to say that leaving a big range of options to teams makes the battles less fair and skill based. For example if one team has one or two isidas and the other doesn;t, it's finished. Same with many other combos.. imagine it will become like the game rock-paper-scissors, a matter of luck, where the luckiest team will have gismo that surpasses the opposing team. No skill, no effort, just bad luck.

Now, making another battle type like rico-war or thunder - smoky war, is interesting but also a matter of how manageable for Starladder it is. In any case, should such a new type of battle would be, it would have to be distinct from what we know.

p.s. the worse kind of game would be with many isidas. Happened to play such a game and in the end it was very frustrating; nobody got killed, since all the others where healing whoever got problem. Ha ha, really miserable, 20 minutes of hard fight and just a bunch of kills, imagine the kill-based-funds to share LOL

^Yeah, but isida's charge doesn't last forever.

Try having three isidas on your side, and three on the opponents and all of them trying to kill enemy and heal team-mates... Nightmare

What you call luck I'd call strategy, finding a winning team combination and ensuring they all play their roles expertly.  It would add another layer of complexity.  That being said I would rather have a separate set of games that allow different weapon combinations as you've described.

Even better would be to gradually introduce different match types.  Starting with different weapon and map combinations.  Eventually a set of games with no limits played on random subset of maps (ideally the clan leader would get advanced notice and could choose the team accordingly).  This would allow for larger more diverse clans with more roles.  Then each type of battle could have a time of year, fall could be rail season, spring mid range, summer non-weaponrestricted etc.

But that would be a long term goal phased in one type at a time.  Better to start out by introducing something with a different set of allowed weapons.
