What to buy? What to use?

I am gonna get m1 horn on sale after that half of my crystals I earn are gonna go back for hunter m2 so then once I get that rank I can get it and the other half I am thinking of get smoky and rail m1 is this good?

Smoky m1 isn't very good. At lower ranks it is, but when you become higher ranked and people reach m2 stuff, it's useless. But from m2, Smoky rocks. Railgun m1 can still be used into the m2's, as one shot does massive damage. For m1, Railgun is better IMO. But at m2, both are very, very strong. :o

Just make sure not to flip when a Railgun is targeting you. Lol. You might want to turn sideways a bit or slow down so he won't clip you from the corner and send you rolling- although I have flipped twice from one Railgun shot before, and thus landing upright. Lol! Oh, and I use Forester paint. It makes me hard to see, especially in trees. They'll have a hard time shooting you and you'll be able to sneak/snipe- not to mention micro-upgrading Forester. Lol! Oh, and I use Forester paint. It makes me hard to see, especially in trees. They'll have a hard time shooting you and you'll be able to sneak/snipe- not to mention micro-upgrading Forester.

Congratz on ranking dude :D i ranked too.... Yep ur word of advice rings true and forester is a good rail paint for low ranks :P i got emerald with 10% rail, lol. but it provides some cover in trees as well since its green

Thanks for the tips! But I have had m3Railgun since Tanki came out...I'm pretty good by now...and I've changed some specs...now these are my choices:

Im going to post them as weapon choices and then hull choices, u make the combo pick.

M2 rail, M2 Rico, M2 Freeze, M2 Thunder

M2 Viking, M2 Wasp, M2 Hornet

I currently have in my garage m1 viking, m2 Rico and thunder. All else is m0...

I am planning on buying 240,000 crystals, and am now leaning towards something that will be powerful enough

to keep up with the ranks. That is why i am leaning towards M2 Rico and m2 viking, with a nice paint and then 90,000 crystals left for something else, perhaps m2 hornet.

Please help. I am very indecisive, so numbers help me decide. I also want my moneys worth. Thanks!

Get rail m2... Much more enjoyable to use and it can b used in small medium and large maps :P just costs a bit more than freeze

I would say freeze m1. Though Titan and freeze is not the best combo, Firebird and Titan is even worse. Since freeze can freeze people, you can play on a slower tank. But with firebird and titan....You wont be able to kill anyone.

 

I think you should get hornet or something instead of titan if you want to upgrade a short range weapon. Just my opinion. Choose for yourself.

Monster is right; Freeze mounted on heavy hulls is the ultimate defense combination.

But any other close range gun would be a failure on them.

As you can still Freeze people with the overpowered effect, and close in without needing to much speed.

Firebird won't slow down enemies, and they will outrun you when you're using a fat and slow hull.

 

You need atleast the speed of Viking for such weapons.

240,000 crystals...i buy rankup with 22,000 or however much is leftover, then buy m3 rico on my m1 viking which i will soon upgrade to m2.

Or i could buy 240,000 crystals and buy m2 viking with my m2 Rico and a nice e paint like python with 90,000 left to save with or something. But my only problem with this is that I will have to buy 240,000 more crystals for m3 Rico and another 240,000 for m3 viking. With the first option I can get Rico m3 and then viking m3 with only a few more crystals, rather than a whole 240,000 more.

Firebird/Mammoth combination is only effective at the Lesser-ranks. I'm talking about low Warrant Officers and Sergeants in a map maybe Silence. As you advance toward higher Ranks, Mammoth/Freeze is the bomb. And frankly, you're not going to be a Sergeant or low WO for long. So I'd say if you don't want to waste Crystals, buy Freeze. Mammoth and Titan are sort of the same, and take a look at this. Titan is a bit faster than Mammoth, so you'll snag enemies even faster. You'll be able to take on a Mammoth's role and camp on a flag, and scrape up the extra speed to kill if you're in a hunting mood. I've only seen one Mammoth/Firebird at my level in Silence, and he didn't get very far. I have never seen an M2 Firebird on mammoth though. They're usually on Hornet or Wasp.

Mammoth works fine (IMO) with Shaft, Thunder, Twins (in smaller maps), Freeze and Smoky. (Smoky only from m2, m1 is quite weak.)

 

Mammoth vs Titan: at m0, Mammoth wins. It looses only 0,2 speed for 28 HP. At m1, Titan takes the lead. It gets 10 hp less, but speed increases with 0,7 over Mammoth m1. To m2 stages: Again, Titan wins. With 0,9 more speed and 8 hp less, the health is nearly the same but it has lots more speed than Mammoth m2. M3 stages, the difference becomes smaller, meaning you have to choose: 0,6 more speed but with 44 hp loss, or 44 hp more for 0,6 speed loss. If you're only planning to get m2 or even just m1, take Titan. If you look forward, make the m3 choice first, so that you won't have to pay so many extra crystals and take the hull you want to have in the end. Both are strong tanks, soyou'll be strong anyway.

 

Turrets you could upgrade: Thunder, Freeze and Smoky. Those turrets suit both Mammoth or Titan and Hornet. Thunder is OP at m1 and

m2, but when you reach m3, many people have protection so you'll be quite 'weak'. Freeze is always OP, as it slows down enemies. Smoky isn't very strong until m2, but when you reach it, you'll be master on the battlefield.

If AustinMyles does not like Camping: I'd take Hornet M1 and Freeze, if you are looking for a Cheap and Over-powered weapon ( I think Semyon said that Freeze's effect might actually get buffed due to Micro-upgrades). If you are looking for more of a challenge and have more Crystals to spend, then go for Firebird. If you want some Mammoth-traits and favor more Armor than Speed, then go with Viking. Mammoth will weigh you down, so the closest to the heavy-tank category would land you with Viking- a balanced Hull. After you have chosen your Hull, try upgrading that unto M2. Both of these combinations are good for TDM, DM, and CTF. The reason why I don't recommend Mammoth is that mammoth is a very slow hull. It will drag you on and on. I take Non-campers as people who like to move around and do parkour when the opposing team leaves, so yep. Take a look at mammoth if you want, but I don't recommend it if you want to move around.

 

If AustinMyles likes Camping: If you actually love Camping then look at Shaft on a Mammoth. All you need to do is find a good sniping spot, and you'll be almost Un-killable unless someone either Drugs or takes you by surprise. Furthermore, if you have Drugs on Mammoth, then I doubt Gold Box will be a problem- especially with a Med-kit. If you're still a bit flexible while camping, then go with Viking- not to mention that for GoldBox it'll be even easier since without Nitrogen, you'll still be a Hull with adequate speed. The Speed stat will be important for you in getting Crystal/Gold boxes because the majority of the maps you play in has some decent space. I'm pretty sure a Gold box in Serpuhov will be almost impossible for you to get on a Non-drugging Mammoth. The only compacted map you have on the list is Island. For maps such as Silence and Island, you might want to take a good look at Freeze. If you're a hard-core camper, then get Freeze and squat on your flag. You'll basically be the ultimate Flag-Guardian-Juggernaut- and not to mention if you're in a hunting mood, well then go ahead and knock out a few tanks. On Drugs this will be an even harder Tank to take out especially when getting a Gold Box, Enemy Flag, or Blitz-Krieging the enemy Base and breaking through the defense lines in a TDM. The Freeze is a cheap and over-powered, so yeah. However, like I've mentioned before, Viking is split between Speed/Armor, so if you're a flexible camper, then I guess you can take a Viking. It's still an ideal hull. However, Hornet is meant for staying on the move and isn't a good camper since enemy waves will wear you down quickly. With Mammoth or Viking you'll last a bit longer. However, I warn you that with Freeze, you have to wait for enemies to come to you. With Shaft, just enjoy the free time and Snipe enemies. However, when a Drugger comes, Freeze will be important- even more sufficient in use than Shaft unless you spot him from afar and already have your muzzle pointed at the entrance. However, watch out since the Freeze might've seen you or known you were there and goes around the other way and catches you by surprise. These combinations are all good at CTF, TDM, or DM, so you'll have to pick if you like Close-ranged or Far-Ranged.

Well, the primary protection it possesses is Firebird along with a shabby Freeze protection. It isn't much, and you rarely see Firebirds anymore. I don't recommend you buy that, since if Firebird isn't seen in the battles, it would be like having no paint at all. If you want the Freeze protection, then look the other way. You're better off with Lava or Python or something. However, the Freeze's effect will still render you defenseless so you'll die anyway. You're better off with saving for something like Corrosion or stick with the basic Forester, Lava, Metallic, Mary, etc. Edited June 9, 2013 by r_DidYouKnowThat0
