Should I buy M1 Twins or M1 Hunter first? I have M1 Wasp, Hornet, Titan, and Freeze, so I am a bit lacking on turrets. However, I'm also lacking a medium hull, and I really want to try Hunter-Freeze.  Advices?

Awesome... I like your experimentation with the different sound effects, great stuff. I already knew you're a natural at piano/keyboard, but clearly you're not too bad at composing either...

I presume that when a mine runs out of gold that only rock is left, so I guess so! Though the mines themselves wouldn't 'become' rocks, just to be pedantic :P

It really depends how much you want either of them. IMO, depending on the number of crystals you have, you should purchase neither and save up to get Freeze M2 at WO5 (considering that you seem to like it), and then Hornet M2 at Second Lieutenant. Then, you'd pretty much have a fairly reliable combo to set yourself up for most of the M2 ranks. But if you had to buy one of those two, I'd go for Twins M1 - it's not a great idea to have so many hulls upgraded and only one upgraded weapon, though Hunter/Freeze is definitely effective. Alternatively, if you want to commit yourself to Hunter/Freeze (IMO that's a good idea as the combo is actually very effective, despite the fact that Hornet's more common), then try getting Hunter M1 now (maybe at a sale), Freeze M2 when you rank, and then Hunter M2 at Captain. Ultimately, it's your choice; though I hope this advice was somewhat helpful.

Having looked at the topic, I like the idea - so I have a positive impression of it, basically. It'd be an interesting game-mode, at least. My main criticism (and probably quite a major one) is that due to its complexity, it would unfortunately be unlikely to ever be implemented, as it may be judged that the benefits of introducing such a mode would not outweigh the costs of putting such a mode into practice (i.e. very time-consuming designing, development/programming, testing, and implementation). Also consider the fact that after all this effort, such a change, whilst significant, may not really be seen as so 'revolutionary' for the game as a whole - and so the developers would probably want to use their time elsewhere, through developing the game in other ways. So, the idea itself is nice in theory - but it falls down in terms of the two factors as to whether it'd be worth the potentially large amount of time/resources needed, and whether it'd benefit the game that much. The fact that Control Points already exist (yes, you can argue your idea's different and more advanced, but the gameplay style of pushing for control of areas of a map could be seen as essentially the same) is the final nail in the metaphorical coffin here, in my opinion. You're allowed to disregard what I've said here of course, but I just wanted to put your idea into a functional context too, rather than just pointing out that it's good like everyone else on your topic. In the real world, an idea itself being good doesn't necessarily mean it would succeed.

Well the developers have been working day and night to make all of the turrets and hulls as balanced as they can make them. It really all comes down to preference. You ought to experiment with all of the turrets before you try buying an M1 (or even an M2 in the near future for you!). I'd personally suggest that you begin by upgrading Isida to M1, as it will serve you well. The fact that you can earn XP for healing means you don't have to go into the heat of the battle and hurt your D/L, and can help you rank significantly faster if used to it's maximum potential. This turret can operate well in team matches or in a Death Match, so it is fairly versatile. Though in conclusion, let me return to they key point that ever tanker prefers a different combo, so don't let me sway you one way or the other all too easily. Good luck in choosing your next upgrade! :)

If you're a Freeze/Twins user, I'd logically go for Spark considering it protects from all of the weapons which could really be dangerous in that situation. Electra is really all about that Isida protection, and you already have the much cheaper but still effective Alien in that respect, so... Just saying this from personal experience - whilst Electra did indeed look awesome on my own M2 Hunter back in the day, it really wasn't actually worth the crystals, considering I already had Alien. So, unless you're really that obsessed with Electra's appearance, I'd say that the logical choice would be to go for Spark - and TBH, it doesn't look bad at all either :P Actually, at that level, I found Sandstone to be most effective in a wide variety of battle situations, just in case you still have an open mind about this.

Just wait a few hundred years until Virgin Galactic start offering services to Venus. Make sure you hold your nose until then in order to avoid inhaling le poisonous gases!

 

Well, as for the first part, get @hogree and put him on a plane (yes that's cheating but oh well). As for the second part, get a spider and point a radioactive source at it. Should be fun, though not for the spider.

To add to MM2's answer, my personal recommendations for equipment which is generally most effective at each rank would be:

 

M0: Thunder, Ricochet, Freeze, Isida.

M1: Firebird, Smoky, Thunder, Railgun.

 

Reliable hull choices at both modifications include Hornet, Hunter, and possibly Mammoth (though it is quite slow here).

 

However, it should be noted that as MM2 mentioned, personal preference does indeed play a part. Each player has different tastes in terms of combinations, and you should use your own past experience to help you to choose your own, too. Good luck!
