How many times have you not bothered to video a violator because you thought it was a waste of time?

Making videos for Violation Mods to judge is time intensive and takes a lot of effort to capture, process, upload, document and submit to the violators section.

Why not get a small crystal reward, direct from the violators account, for your trouble?

It would be payable only if punishment is issued.

It wouldn't be a large amount, enough to cover lost game time, say 500 - 1000 crystals max.

Conditions:

Only payable for reporting WO5's and above.

Videos only, no screenshots.

Violations captured via video where a simple screenshot would have sufficed will get no reward.

Only 1 reward payable per day.

Concerns in feedback:

"What if you provoke someone into violating just so you can get a reward?"

Rule 2.3.24. Doing or provoking others to activities or inactivity that are prohibited by the Game Rules

Anybody caught breaking this rule should be fined the total amount of crystals he has received for previous rewards.

Excellent touch to the idea. I'd hate the idea of hackers abusing this by making alternate accounts and getting their main account to ban them, thus getting free crystals.

Though it would get suspicious over time. And hilarious.

I agree. And there should be some limit on how many crystals you can receive per day, as some may go provoking others to violate the rules in order to get some free crystals.

Good luck.  I think that Tanki should have a button for recording on their own servers and not UTube.  It should be readily accessible and easy to use.  I can not download on this PC, I do not have any administrative permissions at all.  I did tell offenders on one occasion that I was recording their offences for submission to moderation, several left very smartly never to come back to that game!  It just shows!  A reward perhaps, I would not like to see abuse of the system.  Players will be set up, provoked to react ect.  I think that it should be available to all not just to a higher rank.  Many on here have several accounts and are not new and bullying often happens to new players

I am totally against it. Lets imagine it in a real life situation. You see someone stealing something off someone. They have no clue so you go to the police and report it. Your reward is feeling good about stopping the violator. If you don't want to do it, don't and let him get away.

I never feel good about reporting anybody at all. I wish I never had to do it and everyone played nicely.

Too many people say they can't be bothered and so violators are prevalent and are running riot.

Reward those directly from the violator and we'll see a big cut in game violators.

Wait... don't we need a picture to proove a violation?

No, it is actually pretty difficult to prove a violation that way.  Better to capture a video of gameplay and submit it in the game violator section.

Yes I agred, I have reported people, wasted my time gotten lots of players banned... even myself, and get nothing out of it other than “noob reporter" and other common insults that would get me banned were I to say them. This idea would be effective and their will be less valuations. After all we are looking put for tanki and helping the mods, we deserve some credit.

However we should receive crystals no matter what we use as proof: screenshots, videos. They both have to be captured and processed then uploaded so they both deserve credit.

I'm talking about situations where videos are required.

Screenshots can be submitted relatively quickly.

If anyone wants to edit every frame of a video with photoshop then be my guest but you'd earn more picking up blue boxes in the time it takes you to meticulously edit a gazillion frames.

So, do you think a mod earns a thousand per banned/kicked violator? I think players do deserve credit for reporting, but you don't deserve crystals. Tanki will be a complete mess if every player is going to play the police officer. Seeing that now already, it's nice that players report, but it is voluntarily of course.

Quite true, if chat mods got paid 1k for every ban they made, they'd make more money than semyon does. Which is pretty hard to do seeing as he's the one paying them

No reward- no video. Huh. Do a mods job and don't get paid for it? no way. Work - reward. No reward - no work. that's life.

Mhmmm, ever heard of volunteering? The bystanders that donated blood and helped saved lives at the Boston bombing weren't paid for it. Neither were the volunteers at 9/11. So, if they can do that, I think you can take 30 seconds to screen a violation or 5 minutes to record a sabotager ;)

All in all, I believe this idea has merit, but I don't think that crystal compensation is necessarily the right way to go.

I'm not talking about the act of banning here.

Nobody is talking about players becoming police. That's the moderators job.

Either way. A reward is always needed. Maybe a small one. but something is needed to encourage tankers to report.

Sounds like mods don't want to look through extra topics

But it comes as a result. Easy earning of crystals.. just play the wannabe-mod and get paid.

But why would we want to encourage tankers to report? It's up to the players if they want to do it. If not, don't worry, we don't care.

I mean ingame, not in the forum. Players are gonna report and report and report and threaten to report etc.

So every ban you make, do you make a video?

Every ban we make, we make a screenshot for a chat violation, or a video for a game violation yes.

You've not got this at all.

It's about getting something for your time and effort. It's also a deterrent for further violations. There is nothing here about becoming police or wannabe mods. If you're really that uneasy about it I'll put a limitation in my suggestion to make you sleep better at night.

I did get it. People are going to search for violations, and report them for crystals. This is not meant for such things.

In order to minimize the number of violations and improve the game experience for players.

Number of violations stays the same, with or without reports. When you report, it means that the violation already happened, and that you, and many other  people have already seen it.

^ In response to your second point...

Number of violations would go down if there were more reports. 1st, it's not like every offense is made by a different person every time. Bans and blocks would make it a 1-time occasion for everyone who breaks the rules. 2nd, if reports were more common, people would take violations more seriously. This would mean less people breaking the rules in the first place. This idea would help Tanki, and I think the mods are smart enough to realize if someone would be abusing this.
