The new Silence is great

So. Is it big open space or tunnels doing the trick?

The open space isn't very helpful (when you go onto it, you can't really get back up without 2-person parkour), but the tunnels are an amazing improvement. In a CTF, Blue Team would usually win if both teams were equally skilled, since the entrances to their "base" are all fortified to some extent, with ramps and such. With the backdoor tunnels open, the Blue Team base becomes less fortified, and as such the map is more balanced.

On the flip side, the tunnels also help Blue team. You can enter the tunnels, exit in the opening near the ramp-bridge, and attack any Red Team players trying to go up the ramp from behind.

Overall, I think the tunnels add a whole new dimension of combat, and I think it would make Silence a more balanced and popular map.

It might work well on a CTF Map like Silence, though the negative comments of those

Generalissimo 's make me wonder...so I better step back because I almost never play

this Map.

(my own bad remembrance and dislike from Silence comes from an even older Silence where you

"lined-up" on the big ramp to be slaughtered by the "higher ground" team one after one,

at least that 's how I experienced it)

I personally don 't feel a tunnel will add a lot to a DM Map like Polygon.

Which is and should remain a fighting pit in my view.

The "spider-hole" in the center adds already quite enough diversity.

My thoughts exactly.

But don't mind me, I 'm not a fan of Silence..  ;)

By the way, I do remember the slaughter ramp back in those days of tanki youth lol what a masacre.... Back then, I did like Moon Silence... now, not anymore...

The open space is just a waste of space, it might as well be removed, I like the tunnels, it now makes the battle more interesting, and allot of ways to escape after stealing a flag well, just one more additional route to take. It should stay!:)

Basic consensus, which I'd have to agree with...

- The extra open space is a disadvantage, really, it just means that the gameplay's less intense as things are more spread out. It's nice to explore a new area and try some parkour, but it's not good for gameplay.
- The tunnels are a good idea, I personally like them a lot as they add a new dimension to the gameplay. It makes the whole thing more interesting, both strategically and in terms of combat.

Overall, I like the experimenting going on here - but keep the tunnels and discard the unnecessary open space, please!

Silence used to be my favourite map. Is hate too stronger word? It's way too open now and everyone is running around like headless chickens taking fire from every angle. I got bored very quickly. You have to consider naming this map Silence II and leaving the old one there. It's good that you're trying to improve, I just really don't like it.

Open up the tunnels maybe but keep the other no-go zones out-of-bounds.

Sorry about the negative criticism but it's an honest appraisal.  Don't throw the old silence away!

I agree with you but I also like the new one!

Gameplay is definitely a lot more fun now, and I'd say it's balanced overall. Tunnels allow stealthy access to the enemy's base, and an effective way of escaping with the flag, however they can easily be blocked/mined. The open areas surrounding the map are good for snipers, however the disadvantage is that these snipers are trapped and unable to steal the flag.

Blue now has a huge advantage. Take not how  many battles you see where blue wins....

This is now a totally new map and has little to do with the strategy used in the original silence map.

Most of the comments here are from low level players. Interesting to note ;)

way more dynamic gameplay and makes you have to be aware of everything not just what is infront..i suggest leaving the map how it is....shafts can have fun as well with this

Hmmm, commonly tunnels on our maps never do any good. So you think this one will work?

And you what to try this kind of tunnel on Polygon?

it would be great for polygon as currently when there is cp people hide in the mini tunnel and bascially can't be killed...adding a tunnel would be great for that

Actually... open tunnels made battle a bit more interesting in silence... But tunnels are kind of OP for blue team... You steal red flag, run into the tunnel and you are safe, easy to do with wasp... (did this many times, worked perfectly)

The new version is much, much better than the normal version! Far more dynamic gameplay, and it is far less of a Kit-Drugger-Only map!

Both the tunnels and the open space help!
