Ideas for Parkour!

I think that there should be some kind of bonus for doing tricks e.g. flips. Obviously flips are very easy so there shouldn't be much xp granted, but other things e.g. side-flips, getting onto supposedly inaccessible roofs could get bigger bonuses. (A start would be to remove the auto self-destruct whenever you get on top of them)

OH HELL NO.

Just stay the hell away of changing parkour. It is good as it is. (I am still against the whole anti-cheat system tho)

Not really. I think it needs at least an option to disable damage and instant self-destruct. And things like bonuses for getting to certain places (roofs) would also be a nice feature.

I can accept that bonus thing, but disabling damage would affect the parkour gameplay too much - I mean too much to implement this without thoroughly talking over with the most known parkour clubs. (I doubt if any dev does parkour high-level)

Umm... I don't think the bonus thing is good, because Pro Parkourists (Like you) will keep getting rewards

Infinite drugs in Parkour mode.

Why not? It's not like Parkour Mode gives fund or anything. IMO, it'll make the parkourist section of the game happier.

 

Many friends of mine have ran out of mines in parkour mode  :lol:

I think the problem with this is that with infinite supplies public parkour battles will be a mess. Everyone will be making minefields and the battles will become unplayable. And adding a cooldown on mines to counter this will ruin the purpose of the format.

 

Although one way to go around that is to have an increasing cooldown. So the more often you place mines, the longer the cooldown between them will be. This way normal parkourists won't be affected at all, while pointless mine spam will be prevented. But I doubt that developers will waste time making this system.

Public Parkour Battles are already a mess XD

 

They were meant for having fun and trolling, so why not make it a kind-of just for fun, not serious experience? Private parkour is always the serious one and you need a PRO pass for both anyway

Guys Double damage has nothing to do in Parkour it only helps in Multing which is some how against rules. So when you create Parkour format battle automatically when you enter battle you shouldn't be able to take Double damage and supply also won't drop.

Parkour more is often used for much more than just parkour, including events which involve shooting, so completely removing DP from parkour wouldn't be a good idea. We already had the suggestion to add an option to disable damage, so now it's just a matter of time before developers add it.

Why not? It would be an option (so you can still create/enter parkour battles with damage enabled), but it would completely ruin the issue with parkour "ruiners", who enter public parkour battles and shoot everyone for no reason.

An even better way to go around it, is removing the damage caused by Turrets/Mines

I must say I agree with you. If they make it as an option only, real parkourists can keep the "old-style" and we can beat the trolls/ruiners as well.

Remove DD from parkour battles cuz in there its just annoying.

Also make so those SB platforms and other platforms just instantly give you effect even if there isnt box. you just drive on that platform and get effect.

Something simmilar to DeathRace platforms.

I have just bought a PRO pass for the first time in nearly 5 years of playing, and I decided to try some parkour battles. "Everyone working together in a no kill zone would be great!", and sure no xp/crystals does discourage killing but it doesn't stop it. There is no pain worse than getting on top of some high roof after 30 minutes of trying, and then getting shot by some drugging railgun who likes to see people cry.

 

My solution: though I wasn't personally at the meet-ups yesterday, I saw some screenshots, and saw that the mods had 100% protection modules. If in xp/bp, you automatically get a special module if your wasp/hornet is m2 rather than m3, why not in parkour battles get a 100% resistance module. This would instantly eliminate any trolls who happened to join the game.

One parkour i do is put wasp and hammer on make a noise battle map go hit w and when you are in the air shoot its by the red area for ctf by the shed go off that part not in the self-destruct area

Having played some parkour games, I've discovered ghe ultimate pain of getting somewhere really high after loads of effort, and then being killed by one drugging railgun.

Although I wasnt at the online battles with Godmode on, i saw a screenshot and noticed that he had a 100% protection module.

Since in other formats one is equipped with alterations/protection modules, wouldn't that be possible in parkour?

With an inability to die, not only would it make parkour easier, it would reduce the damage to my stocks of DD and repairs, and completely ruin the fun of the trolls.

From a realistic and hopeless point of view, the devs aren't gonna work on the parkour mode any time soon so nothing's gonna change. But there's one thing that they really should change ASAP. The sky kill zone. It must be removed, it makes high jumps impossible. That's the reason the biggest parkour tricks are not even used in the game, and nobody's making huge impressive jumps. I'm sure they want parkourists to be able to make cooler videos and better entertain the community, and removing the sky kill zone on parkour battles is a really quick thing to do.

 

I heard someone saying that sky kill zones are there to deal with cheaters. Well, first of all I don't see how cheaters in parkour mode will be more harmful than they are right now (which they aren't) if they will be able to fly even higher. Secondly, if this really is a big problem for whatever reason, the sky kill zone could be removed in private parkour battles only, this is where organized parkour teams try to do cool stuff and fail because of this kill zone.

 

The question is: how could we get them to make this exception and make a little change to parkour mode even though it's far down in their priority list, if it's even there at all. I think this change is important enough for them to make an exception and take care of it.

Completely agreed. In my opinion someone should send a kind PM to Hazel-whats-his-name or ask Cedric in VirtualOffice. (As far as I know both they are in connection with the devs.)
