The universe is too large and too complicated for the human brain to understand. because like the rest of things on earth everything is limited, there is a "finish", but for space their is no such thing. Which confuses the brain.

In Britain, Astronomy isn't a set subject. Here, it just melts down into Physics, which is a shame. Astronomy could be a division of Science in its own right.

:(

No, astronomy as a whole doesn't concern us as much as the others.

Nice topic - I like Astronomy too. Infinity - well where does it end ? Or where does it begin . Time and Space and all that stuff. Mid Blowing.

I have a telescope but due to light pollution hard to see much but when I do its amazing - Jupiter and its moons.

Wish we were able to travel through it but distances are so vast - speed of light  186,000 miles a second = 1 light second and it takes 3 light years to get to the nearest start Alpha Centauri - I think if memory's right.

I like some Science fiction too - 2001 Space Odyssey - beats them all.

Red Dwarf,White Giants,Blue Giants and Black holes,Super Nova,Spiral Galaxies,Neutron Stars,Comets,Meteors,Planets,Stars,Gas Clouds,Nebula,Star Clusters,Quasars,Suns,Moons,Systems,so much  too see and more.

Cosmos - Chaos.Reminds me of Carl Sagan and if you have never read his book recommend PALE BLUE DOT.

Before Voyager probe left the solar system NASA programmed it to take a final photograph, a self portrait of us on Earth - hence the title.

Every one you know, and love, every war ever fought and all of human kind are all on this tiny blue dot.How vulnerable we are in the vastness of the Universe.

I agree with you in that we cannot comprehend Infinity, and there is no end of time as we know it , however Stars and Planets do have a life cycle where they are born and die.We are made up partly from carbon, which is only made in nuclear furnaces which is why Scientists say ' We are made of Starstuff ' In that we are made up of atoms from a previous star,so its some kind of recycling.Makes you wonder when you get that 'Deja vu' feeling... I have been/seen this before. Some scientists and I'll quote Prof Brian Cox as saying one day all the Stars will go out - no light in the universe.I cannot imagine that but that's millennia from now,if ever .

Ever heard of the 'Carbon Cycle'? type it into google images. Carbon is made everywhere. You breath out carbon dioxide, whilst plants photsynthesise. It carries on, including the CARBON CYCLE. From respiration-photosyntesis.

If you ever wanted to see what the Earth is like from ISS, you can watch a live webcast here : http://spacestationlive.nasa.gov/timeline/ [site owned by NASA]

You could also use the app in Play store.

I love sun its hot huuuu

Hot like me :D

Bad joke. Forgot to laugh. I'll just put my tongue out my mouth.

:P

I love space / astronomy! I'm hoping to do something related to Space / Physics when i leave high school! You guys seen the trailer for the movie 'Interstellar' which is coming out in November? Looks amazing!  :D

All the best, I for one also have a job like that in mind. :)

That's why it's in written in off-topic.

Yes, but its off-topic in off-topic, which is also not allowed, you have to try and stick to the topic, even when it is off-topic. Get me?
