changes for self destruct

So this is for the self destruct thing whenever you blow yourself up with a gun you lose a kill in dm right? and you also lose a point whenever you press the self destruct button (delete button) well that is just unfair so i was thinking that the devs would make it so that you dont lose a point when pressing the self destruct button but you will lose it if you self destruct with a gun or fall out of a map.

Before the recent update, when you self destructed you wouldn't lose kills and gain deaths. Your score stayed the same. However, this changed recently and they decided to make you lose a kill and gain a death because Thunder users kept self destructing on enemies which was really frustrating. The update worked and not many Thunder users self destruct any more as a result. This is mentioned in the 4th V-Log.

i think you didnt understand what i said. I mean when you are fliped and you cant get back uo and press the delete button then you wont lose a point

I did. They are not changing it back. You WILL lose a point when you press delete/self destruct with Thunder/jump off an edge . It's the same thing.

What he means is that he thinks that you should still lose points for purposeful self destructing (with a gun or jumping off an edge) but if you mandatorily have to self destruct, because you actually can't get back up on your own, than you shouldn't lose any points/kills. However, I feel that it would be too complicated to decipher between the two circumstances when it comes to game coding so this idea may not be possible.

Yes, I know. The reason they make you lose points when you're flipped is so that it encourages you not to flip, meaning you are more skilled. It's your fault you flip and you should forfeit as a result.

It would make more sense if the penalty for self destructing with thunder/richochet is 10 points penalty because when people kill AND kill themselves, they actually gain 5 points for that, stupid, huh?

No, you are talking about a different thing. You are talking about experience points, the current discussion is on kills and deaths.
