BIG Maps

So, yes this will sound just like the name: big (or bigger) maps!

This will be an update that will make the game a lot more interesting and dynamic :D.

There will be a map that will be much bigger than usual maps, perhaps twice the size of Düsseldorf, but with only 50 players in total (25 per team). Here is a scale of approximately how big it should be:

The "City" map that you were talking about. There used to be a map like that called Crash. It was like how you described it, buildings every corner, and you could go through some of them. There was tall buildings as well, which were amazing to play parkour on. But this map has been taken off by the Mods over 2 years ago from memory. I believe that this map was only a test only, so it wasn't pernament on the game severs.

 

But yea, it was like how you described the map "City".

 

But I agree with the other people, 50 per team would simply too much. Imagine DM, over 100! That would cause serious lag issues for people who have a slow computer, even maybe faster computers might even lag a bit. The largest maps in the game is Berlin and Dusseldorf, and their max player limit right now is 40, 20 per team, and even that you get a bit of lag issues.

 

But don't give up your hopes now, Tanki might one day consider designing the maps you mentioned, and add them to the game. But the max limit of players would have to be 40, or it gets a bit too much.

 

But overall, I like it. Well done! :D

There would be a few maps added to the game that are a lot bigger. here are the statistics:

The map would be approximately 75x75 in size (I think). The maximum players per team would be 50.

Different BIG maps:

 

Range. This map would be set up in a special way: One mountain would be set up on either side of the map (two in total) with a huge space in between. This place would be filled with tinier hills and lots of trees. Also, in the new version of Tanki, this could also have streams of moving water! This could possibly increase or decrease your tank's speed depending on where you are going.

 

Maze. This map is just like it sounds: a huge maze! There would one base on either side of the map and in between there would be an immense maze. There would be a few buildings but mainly dirt ground surrounded by stone walls.

The maze should not be to confusing though (don't want to get lost too much :D)

 

City. Again, this map is just like it sounds. There would be one big base on either side of the map. In the centre, though, it would be occupied by a lot of buildings with barely and trees, just a few plants. The buildings would have passages in between them though and they would not be too tall.

This would cause massive lag for anybody playing on the map. Dusseldorf and Berlin already have some lag issues; maps even bigger than that would be unplayable for many people.

Exactly! And not only for slow computers, but also for computers far away from the servers, as many are either from english servers or german ones.

My pc is relatively a fast one, and in Dusseldorf I complete only 1 out of 3 battles, it's really annoying having to reload every 30 seconds or so...

Probably after a couple of years, when bandwidth and respond rates improve alot, such maps will be playable.. but not now.

Big maps with large teams are notorious for fatal error issues.

 

Plus if you limit team sizes to solve the lag the distance across the map makes it impossible to catch up with flag carriers.

 

Of course you could have tanks spawn closer to the center but then the flag is left unprotected.

They can only keep 24 players total 12 each team
