Many smart suggestions from Tommybau

Hi everyone!

 

i have many useful suggestions from tanki online that would make the game a little better for everyone. nothing brutal or stupid, just a few good things.

 

1) what about an advanced battle filter that lets you choose way more options to filter the battles?

other than the gamemode thing, add filters that let you check the time left, the number of kills, the amount of control points score, the flags to capture, the maximum rank (for example, i'm brigadier, i want to see games that have ranks till fieldmarshall excluding commander and generalissimo to avoid facing peoples way stronger than me)

also a filter by maps would be awesome.

 

2) i readed today the news about server distribution. ( http://en.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=225465&view=getnewpost ) what if we, thank to the above idea that makes battles way easier to find, merge all the servers in 3 big ones? just russian, english and german. the servers to host battles and lobbies would still be more than 1.

 

3)Just one word: statistics. the number of peoples you killed, the number of your deaths, flag captured, control points captured, your highest dl in a game, your worst one, the crystals you gained this month/week/day, the game you scored your best score, highest amount of crystals.... the total amount of supplies you used, the hull / gun you used the most, the score you got whit a certain gun or hull, your most used combos.... the total damage you deflected whit a paint, the toal amount you healed whit isida, the shots you missed whit railgun, the number of gold boxes you took.... the interesting statistics you could see are endless! would be a really important page for me. 

 

4) the actual version of dinamic shadows are really simples and rely just on some simple parameters like the color of lightin and the inclination of shadows. what about adding a morning, mid-of-the-day, dusk modes? just by changing some parameters of the lightin engine.

 

5) format battles, but in a particular way. dont allow to choose the hulls and guns that can partecipate in a game 1 by 1. this would make some guns discriminated, imagine a game where shaft users cant play while everyone can. allow the creation of battles where ONLY SOME guns and hulls can be used. like Railgun-smoky in smoky/wasp,

shaft/mammoth and no protective paints, isida/firebird/freeze and any hull... and ofcourse make those battles pro-only.

 

6) the favorite combos. just add a way to choose some of your favorite combos, for example 3. you can preset 3 combination of hulls and guns that will be previewed in some little squares like supplies while you are in battles and you can switch to em by just clicking them and sayng yes in a "would you like to change to..." popup.

 

those are some of the ideas i got... tell me what do you think about em!

1) Very good idea

2) Why do you think they made small servers . The hosts can only take in about 3000 people at once maybe a little bit over so it can't take 30 000 people all at once , that would be impossible .

4) Meh I don't use dynamic lighting nor do most people in tanki so it would be unnecessary

about the united server thing... you are not going to fit 30 tanki servers in a single server, even whit 4 xeons and tons of ram. just take the actual 30 machines and make them work thogheter, sharing all the battles on them but using them all thogheter. so the servers can smartly share the battles based on which machine is full or empity. this would heavily reduce lags on always-filled servers like server 1-2-3.

1) This ACME Sometimes I Wanna Find Games That Have LOW Ranks And I gotta See Them One By One And Thats... :o

 

2)You Know If Doing That So Many Lags Come As The Servers Wil Have BIG Loads....and Pings go Hight And... it's not good

 

3)thats a good idea too to keep track of what you doing....and how good you playing...how much you done today...and compare it to your friends...i think if this be implemented the problem of the rank will be fixed too cuz this makes it players compare each other progress and may add a compare button to keep track your friends too(but not in very detailed) so you and your mates will have race for it to be the 1st of killers in your friends...or 1st of dead in your friends :D

 

4)no...still the flash lags and we are moving to unity...graphical things for now are useless...and btw unity have it already...i saw it on a v-log

 

5)yeah it should be pro ...like i make a game isida only...that makes it cool cuz all will be even and we all the same(paints may be differ) but as you know currently not so many play pro battles and implementing such a thing i dont think would get so much fan....even a generalissimo hestitate to pay that 500 for entrance and not get 200 at all at the end...

 

6)well thats good too....yeah i like that...to go to garage and select the turret and select the hull and paint...it takes a lot time and you may lost a lot time...adding those may save a lot time and when you go garage you have your 3 favourite combos...just select one and DONE....it's acme...

 

Developers Please Consider These Nice Ideas ;)

thank for your feedback! i' tryng to explain better point 2, i think you did not got it.

lets say tanki have got a total of 100 servers, everyone in a different server pc. when a server approaches his full load, it starts to lag a little. what if you are able to see every single battle on a single list (maybe aided by the advancend game selector) but the battles praically are shared on all the servers equally, to make low used servers work more and the first one have som free  time?

I love this one, imagine this while in a long battle found the day can turn night, and also it could rain.

well talking about rain and time change... i doubt we will see those in the flashplayer version of tanki. maybe after the switch to unity, maybe. just a fixed night mode like the halloween map would look good. maybe whit the addiction of some artificial lighting... the tanks lights could be savaged from the railgun beam shot charging, they actually emit light whit dynamic shadows.
