I am not going to do anyone's homework OK

I got a question : A dude wants to swim across a river 10M wide flowing at 2 Metres per second and the dude swimming at an angle of 30 Degrees at a pace of 5 metres per sec. How much does the dude go off target by the flow of the river.

Is there anybody smart enough here to solve this. I guess not

^^

the answer is 9.7 or 10 meters because applying the "TOA" rule in trigonometry the person will travel 5.7 meters, but the flow of the river will increase the distance by 4 meters

this is because, the dude is in water for 2 seconds and the flow of the river is 2m/s so :

2s x 2m/s= 4m/s

+1 question

What is this ?

50j-30i

what does j and i mean?

They are algerbraic letters of the numbers, j and i are two different letters, so you just leave the answer the same, if it was 50i - 30i the answer would be 20i

If you are doing complex numbers, then you cannot do much with that. They are both technically algebraic variables, as stated before, but i is a complex number. If you have not learned about them yet, They are both just variables. Edited by doughnut2100

Ive seen it in forces and sachet diagrams, could you give us the full question?

Ummm.....

100X100+100+111X123X1+44X22%+22^4x10=?

Umm 135242057?

I miss the days when math was actually numbers, not letters.

Anyway, here's my doubt -

2x = 4y = 8z

(1/2x + 1/4y + 1/6z) = 24/7

Find z

Please help me
