I seen many of them saying "who is a girl" or "who wants to be my gf" well I think thats the dumbest thing I ever seen on a game. They should seek for a girl they think they really love. Not someone they don't know very well, and then became a bf and gf in one day.

I've been a tanker for Tanki Online for about 4-5 years and I've noticed how frequently the players talk with eachother about dating and random people asking for "boyfriends" and "girlfriends" and announcing they're gender in chat and whatnot. I find it extremely annoying that 50% of the players are using tanki as a dating website, it just really gets on my nerves. To stop this problem, do you think that it would be a good idea to ban the keywords:

 

Boyfriend

Dating

Girlfriend

Kiss

 

I think it would help with the probem (I think its a huge problem) and decrease the amount of players looking for GIRLFRIENDS and BOYFRIENDS on Tanki. (And Even Child Predators) >.>

Any Suggestions or ideas/comments or thoughts? Please put them down.

Good point, im tired of it, im trying to concentrate in the battle and people talk about this topic is really annoying it has nothing to do with tanki, tanki its a online game not a chat thing.

I'm not sure, but I think dating is against the rules there. Users could get banned for dating or doing inappropriate things such as sex on there.

 

I noticed this problem instantly. The majority of the chat is boys talking to 'girls.' Yes, I'm sure some of them are actually girls, but from my experience on the other game, a few of them are underage boys trolling. I've never encountered a pedophile, but they would thrive there and here as well. 

 

There's not much you can do about horny preteens. My suggestion is to warn and ban those who engage in this type of activity with the reason, 'This is not a dating site.' Since I am new here, I do not know how many mods watch over the chat and how much effort it put into it. My suggestion would take quite a bit of effort to payoff, but once users are getting warned and banned right and left, your problem will significantly subside.

I'd also like to say that LethalJ makes a good argument, however, I have a feeling a large number of users are here for only the purpose of online dating. These people are a waste of server bandwidth and are not generating revenue for the game (I think, no ads, right?). If dating becomes outlawed, these players will either discontinue to use the site or perhaps start to play the actual game. By doing so, they are more encouraged to buy crystals (I think that's Tanki's only revenue?).

Well i don't see the problem with dating. I saw that many times, and i was just laughing. If you don't like to see that things, just change the server, its not problem to get rid of that. Or you can join them, like I once did, its just like fun, its nothing abnormal. If someone wants dating with you, just ignore him, make sure you don't insult him or her, then you're in trouble. But players that do that, they're maybe poor or alone, who knows, so they want other players to bring in chat with them, you know. But like I said, you can join them, or you can change the server, if you don't like to see those things.

i agree completely. thank you for finally mentioning this "bqw." as a christian, this is something that has bothered me for a while. and this ties in to the fact the we all have a responsibility to report this stuff and protect these younger kids, at my house, we are not allowed to chat at all because of stuff like this. and i encourage all of you to catch these bad people before any harm is done.

i do agree but, try not to use christian in your texts too much. it aggravates the non- christians to start a religion debate and vice versa. ive seen this a lot of times in chat. u got a point.

@prencess11: maybe uve been doing this online stuff but it serves as bad influence for youngers plus it is generally wrong.

finding a bf in game and then moving to real life meetings is not exactly the right thing to do. suppose this guy will just say its a meeting to kidnap you or something. also when u meet in real life u might like him but it is the game that is in common with u (the only common factor) and this is not a good sign. u will suffer later on in your life. if u stick to people u have known for a good time u will bond better and it is a better, less slutty way to find ur perfect ones.
