When i see battles named "Our love forever :wub: " "our love beats everyone" "bf and gf vs tanki".... *FACEPALM* talk about that crap on facebook or whatever, yes you can play tanki together and talk in battles, JUST DON'T MAKE EVERYONE ELSE ON THAT SERVER KNOW ABOUT IT!

I've been a tanker for Tanki Online for about 4-5 years and I've noticed how frequently the players talk with eachother about dating and random people asking for "boyfriends" and "girlfriends" and announcing they're gender in chat and whatnot. I find it extremely annoying that 50% of the players are using tanki as a dating website, it just really gets on my nerves. To stop this problem, do you think that it would be a good idea to ban the keywords:

 

Boyfriend

Dating

Girlfriend

Kiss

 

I think it would help with the problem (I think its a huge problem) and decrease the amount of players looking for GIRLFRIENDS and BOYFRIENDS on Tanki. (And Even Child Predators) >.>

Any Suggestions or ideas/comments or thoughts? Please put them down.

The only problem with dating in the game chat, is that it is harder  for flooders, haters, and account steelers to get attention.

I definetly agree, But if you were talking to your real life boyfriend, then if someone asked who you were talking to and you said your boyfriend, you would get banned.

Conversations like this shouldn't be a problem, it's the people that say:

• I'm a girl.
• Who wants a gf?
• Who wants to date me?
• Who wants to......well, you get the idea. <_<

Sometimes, the people typing this aren't even girls!!!! :o

I can't call people strange for dating online, but I can for across a game. But then again, I'd be calling myself strange as well. But that's in the past, it was kind of foolish to try and date over a game like I once did. Anyways, it some times can get annoying, but currently, there's no rule not to, which means people can do so.

i dont understand why one would make that so public. I even see in chats people flirting and talking about their love life. probably the only reason for that is to make them look cool, as they get more attention like that. Ive even seen vids on youtube of people dating online in a game who have never really met each other. Its so wierd. i think that this doesnt really require a ban, but its kinda stupid.

i started tanki in 2011. It doesnt mean that i always play the same account  :) (I forgot the passwords and the nicknames of the old accounts and i started this one  :D )

and i know age is just a # but really, stay with real dating not online :P

I only find this funny because 99% of the guys who post stuff like this on the chat, to "find a girlfriend", would probably puke if a girl would actually try and kiss them :D :D :D and 99.9% of them are making the moves to other guys that are trolling them LOL I guess that in times of war every hole is a trench, if you know what I mean...

 

Other than that, its annoying as hell, thank the gods that kind of talk seems to be reserved for the noob ranks and servers.

I totally agree. However, saying the words: Boyfriend, Dating, Girlfriend and Kiss are not swear words or violations of the game rules. There is no explicit language which should be punished. Some people join online games to ask such questions. If you see people doing this, tell them that Tanki is not a dating site. I do see what you mean, especially in the higher servers, many recruits make accounts to find online boyfriends/girlfriends. There isn't enough reason for a ban but I do understand that this needs to be prevented. 

 

"Child predators". We had an ICT lesson (going back a long time) to Yr8!! We saw this video about how "child predators" work and I think it struck a clear message into the whole class and opened our eyes as to how the dangerous the net can be. When you see this, do not get involved. If you think it is necessary, report such a matter to ban the player so they can no longer use the chat. If you are the "prey" inform your parents. I don't think this goes on in Tanki??

 

It would be nice to do something about this as it is totally pointless but some people think it's a bit of fun (the dating thing, not child predator, just to be clear!)

Telling them this isn't a dating site is like throwing pebbles at a Mammoth, ineffective and worthless.

What you need to do is have more active moderators online, having a team of them helps, but one can have school or get sick. And without that one, a window is left open.

The last time a told one of them that was something like this:

"Hey, this isn't a dating site, beat it."

"No, you get lost, kid."

"You are the child here, get outside and meet people, an MMO is not for dating."

"Hey everybody, look at this guy, he can't get a girl so nobody can!'

 

At that point the chat turned into everyone yelling at me, a SWARM of them told me to get out, one of them was a mod.

I forgot his name, this was around winter 2014 mind you.

 

My point here is this, we need more mods, people who have experience or people you know won't just sit there.
