Firstly, I think you're referring to your classic troll, that player who derives joy from disrupting other fun, and inciting anger.

 

To address your first suggestion, if someone gets nasty in the chats, they're likely to get banned. If you decide to reply with nasty stuff, now both you, and the troll are REALLY likely to get banned, as you've flooded the chat with profanity and drawn attention to yourself.

 

If someone calls you a hacker, the only thing you can do is ignore them. If the other person is persistent about it, and is flooding the chat, a ban could potentially be issued for trolling, but simply calling someone a hacker, is not against the rules. So just be smug you caught that box and keep on fighting.

 

And the absolute best way to handle any of the situations you are suggesting, is to literally use the, "Ignore" option in the game. And if the user follows you into a PM on the forum, you can block them. By doing this you end all other potential issues, and save yourself a bundle of time. All you have to ask yourself is, "Do I really think that I'll ever want to talk to this person again... ever, and could they ever redeem themselves?" If the answer is no, use the block and ignore function. (<--It's there for a reason.)
