Best Sniper?

 Share

Recommended Posts

As far as I know there are 3 snipers in this game; the smoky, the railgun and the shaft. They can all be used for long-ranged battles and excel in that. But I'm having trouble to decide which one does the best at sniping. The shaft would usually be the obvious choice but it takes a while to aim down and do full damage, leaving it exposed for a very long time. The smoky and railgun can take pot-shots but the railgun has this laserbeam which exposes its position. The smoky can do well but you need to constantly be firing at the enemy really limiting your full potential. I just want to know which one can do more damage and help the team in a sniping position.

Shaft is the best IF you know how to use it effectively. If the slow reaload is a problem for you, railgun would be fine. But in terms of power and accuracy, you can't beat shaft.

You can PM me if you want shaft tips.

Shaft and Rail are always fighting each-other to see who better and what gun is better...

I mean overall the rail has very good things such as it is able to miss slightly and still get the hit

Rail also has a bad side because when it loads up to fire is is easy to see and shafts can easily hit it right when it's about to shoot  and throw the rail of target..

Shaft is is good because of it's high power and sniper mode.. But it is easy for rail to sneak up on a shaft in sniper mode..

So both guns are really good in their on ways...

Smoky is a mid ranged... as said here

"smoky isnt a long range turret so it cannot be used for sniping & rail isnt a lazer"

So I guess it's up to the skill of the player

Smoky isn't really a long ranged gun, so if range is what your after i would choose either shaft or rail. Something to consider, there are more people with rail protection running around than with shaft. < anyway's, that's just what i see in the majority of matches, lot's of people with Prodigy and Tundra than with Dirty or any other shaft pro paint.

M3,Shaft vs Railgun, most of gen.s use medium and heavy hulls like viking and titan, and shaft m3 can't kill even m2 viking with one shot, in other

words it's UP against it's old rival;Railgun M3 now. So Railgun is the only choise.

Then again railgun does even less damage against those hulls.

Also, using a double power I am one damage from killing an m3 mammoth.

(I have shaft m2 with light mu's)

i think smoky can easily beat both railguns and shaft thanks to the impact force... but still is not a sniper gun (though i've seen an m2 mammoth smoky literally own a team from his base to ours in a silence..)

Don't forget smokys damage decreases with distance. In stadium for example, I've been shot by an m2 smoky and it barely scratched me. Even it's critical hit did nothing.

Close range it's no contest. But at long range you can't beat shaft

Smoky is anything but a sniper. It's damage beyond 80 meters is ignorable.

Railgun can be a good sniper, but it's much more suited for hit-and-run warfare, or trench warfare.

Shaft is probably the best in the sniper category, as it deals massive enough damage to heavy hulls and to completely obliterate light hulls.

Shaft and railgun have always been rivals. And they always will be.

Of you want a turret solely for camping and nothing else, go with shaft. ( yes, I do know you can use shaft as a mobile weapon. That is relatively hard to do and it's not shafts primary function, but it is an option)

If you want a long range turret with a more dynamic gameplay use rail.

not in every case. When an enemy with your flag is hiding behind a wall, with only the smallest portion of the turret showing, shaft is the only weapon capable of taking them out. Even the best railgun players won`t be able to hit them. Also, its high damage means it is more likely to take out someone with your flag.

Thunder is way better than smoky in long range - it has bigger damage.

I think get it if there will be some sales..
