How can lower rank player have a higher rank gun?

I ran into a Captain rank who was using an M2 Ricochet.  At my rank I cannot buy one.  I asked an found heard that they might have bought it in a 'kit'.  Is this true?

 

I do not understand why you put limits on guns and hulls based on rank BUT someone with a low rank can buy and use a high rank gun.  I hope this is not true and this player was a hack.

 

If it is true then it would seem that the limiting guns and hulls to rank should be changed to how much money someone will spend.

 

Would love some enlightenment from Tanki on this.

There are definitely no hacks involved and there are many kits that allow you to get items before they are made available on their own. 

 

"Kits" give players an opportunity to buy a gun upgrade at a lower rank than usual, but for a larger price (despite the 50% sale it's still very expensive). It's like when you go to a hardware store to buy a fridge for $2000, but you are offered a more expensive limited edition fridge for $3000, which also comes in a set with a microwave and cooking pans. That way you can get something more special, but it will cost more. I hope this makes it clear.  :)

lucky those poor young rankers will no more have to face high rank equipment anymore... the kit buyers (like me) rank fast :D

those old kits were good.. but they were op. i'm happy for newbies.

Here it is - available from second lieutenant and including paints, which you can only get separately once you become general-major. Read the information box - it tells you that this is intended to give you an advantage if you pay lots at once. Yes, it's not fair for non-buying players, but that's marketing for you... You get to play for free, so don't complain.

It does seem that the kits are (or were) offered at a slightly lower rank (one lower rank than normally required for the rico).  However, the player I saw was definitely not a second lieutenant and was indeed a few ranks below me (sorry they were not captain but lower than third lieutenant).  I did not think 'marketing' would skew the game that much to allow a low level to have such a gun.

 

BTW some things are not fair for buying players but this is another topic.

Well, it's your choice to continue playing this game and it's the developers' choice to implement unfair advantages for buyers. You can stop playing the game if you don't like the update so much. If you want to continue, just deal with the fact that it's unfair...

 

P.S. screaming "I HATE THIS UPDATE AND I'M LEAVING TO WORLD OF TANKS" won't change anything.

i would like to remember tanki is going to change those kits whit ones that dont have high rank equipment unlocked earlier.

LOL...let people scream...nothing comes of it.  This was all tongue in cheek ;)

 

I just thought it was weird to see a lower rank have a higher gun.  I was actually very surprised even if it was as a kit.  Must be stupid me for not being on line at the time that kit was available to buy :p

 

And yes, I am a paying player and as most paying players you sort of expect at least an advantage for the cash.

This was the kit that the player was using, or at least part of it. Kits are a way of being able to buy equipment to add to your garage which may have to normally be unlocked at a higher rank.
