Drugging - Old Tanki vs New Tanki

 Share

Recommended Posts

in the old tanki i didnt need to drug to get to the top score, it was really rare for me to do that, i didnt need to spend a single drug to be the top killer... watch this video from the old tanki (2012) and tell me if you see ANYONE drugging.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okjS75_aHqU&list=UUjL1ENQmos3YdTXgFmXvdjA

Seems like the person with the most health packs wins...

MODS please do not close this topic i wanna see what people think!

Yes, back when drugging was rare. :D

But that's the thing, you were able to get "top score" because in the battle, nobody used drugs.

However, this doesn't have anything to do with cooldowns, just drugs. So . what do you mean by dumb cooldowns, and what do you want people to discuss?

The video doesn't connect with the subject of "cooldowns." Just drugs in general, and how you're saying that back then nobody drugged, and you were able to get a top score. . . .

Tanki Online is a game that WILL change in the future. So instead of dwelling/struggling and/or discussing problems in the past, just move on already. Sure we can remember back then in 2012-2013, but no need to keep whining about how "good" it was back then especially since it's an opinion, not any sort of fact - even if the majority of the people we see think so. TO ain't ditching any of their newer updates, especially how they worked so long for them. . .

@Corpsecrusher (Above)

Read my post again, starting at "Tanki Online is a game that WILL change in the future. . . "

Bottom line, TO will NOT leave any of their newer updates. They spent so much time, work, and money on them. So accept that fact, and move on. Rolling and whining about taking out these updates is futile, pointless, and pretty much SPAM/complaints.

Yeah, the Kits did make drugging more common. . . .

I guess one can look at it in this point of view:

A. It decreased Money for Devs since it allowed players to buy in bulk, at amounts of up to 50% off.

B. It increased drugging and threatened free-players, since they couldn't keep up with the x3 Drug Juggernauts.

So then I guess Smart Cooldowns became the necessary solution.

So then after that, TO became more popular in terms of drug usage, and the drug usage became controlled with the Smart Cooldowns.

So I'm guessing TO achieved their goal:

A. More drug usage. (You shouldn't be surprised. Drugging is a permanent part of the game, like it or not)

B. More strategy involved with drugging.

Which all equals to strategic and dynamic play. . . .Eh. . .

back in 2012, drugging was still and has always been part of the game, only problem: kits, they increased the amount of druggers by a HUGE amount.

my suggestion: remove kits, FOREVER. and re-add drugging of 3 supplies at a time. in 2012 u would rarely see a drugger, and if u did, easy solution: just leave and find another battle, back then there was plenny of good and fun battles.

YOU DON'T SAY?

Read my post.

Again, what you're doing is pointless, TO will not remove these updates. LOL.

In my opinion these topics should be closed already, and they WOULD'VE been closed already if the forum was like how it was before in 2012, etc. Much cleaner if I do say so myself.

Ok, I say take out the kits (which is happening), take away SC, and just limit the amount of supplies you can use daily, say 25 of each.

Good idea, there should be a limit of how many drugs u can use

i dont think it needs much strategy,i can go on a polygon CP with my main's isida/viking m3 and win with drugs,vs 3 heavy m3 kits...

if strategy is enduring until you can put the DA/DP (after the first one..) and use the health after it,then i'm strategic :P

Eh. In my opinion it was. Pointless topics were automatically shut down.

Remember BarbaFenner89?

@Chamelos: Yeah, well I think that was what the updates were SUPPOSED to do.

The part where I said "Eh" was more of a reflection of what I thought of it, which was hesitant.

By doubling people's supplies and giving them massive supply gifts they actually made drugging much worse...

A temporarily issue. It will fade to a lower level in time IMO.

Still as DidYouKnowThat wrote I also believe Smart Cooldown can/will lead to at least equal drugs usage.

But it will be a more widespread balanced usage amongst buyers and non-buyers: instead of the old 234-system,

which was only all the time available to the (heavy) buyers.

Health packs and double powers still have some issues, which TO should fix if they were honest about their intentions

with the Smart Cooldowns.

Im going to be honest, drugging back then was simpler and hardly anyone did drug. If they did they would have the whole team gang up on them to make quick work of them before it was too late. But as time passed people started to learn and use drugs more often, kits may have added to this but Tanki Online got to the point of where everyone is constantly drugging and if you didnt then you'd be left out. Also it stirred to notion of "If you drug your a noob" And so something had to be done.

Cool downs in my opinion were a great update because it made it more strategic when drugging, not that its more complex but you have to think about which drug your going to use at that moment vs how it used to be "Press all 3 buttons"

Last its gonna take some getting used to but you'll be surprised that theres still ways to pull off all 3 drugs at once or maybe even one after each other.

There was a day when supplies were not abused. However as tanki became more popular so did the extreme druggers, it's sad but it's the truth. I wish drugs were like they used to be, only used when gold drops. Supplies in tanki are like premium ammunition in World of Tanks, very controversial.

Funny you say that because when I DID drug in Tanki back then, my fingers got so used to the motion. I can still remember my delicate fingers dancing across the number keys; "1,2,3"
