Mini Map

Recommended Posts

Mini Map ,you should make a mini map in every game in tanki , that map shows your location , enemie's flag your base and all your teammate's locations and their health rate... and for sure you can turn it on and off from settings :P

(NOT THE LOCATION OF YOU'RE ENEMIES AND THEIR HEALTHRATE)

(NOT YOUR FLAG'S LOCATION WHILE ITS WITH AN ENEMY BUT THE LOCATION WHEN ITS LOST)

:)

We already have the map Island for a "mini" map.

No bud i mean the mini maps shows the location of your friends if you want to help them or something Like in the map Dusseldorf! you get lost if you are new :D

That would be interesting I suppose... but it would make little to no sense to show your opponents health, that would make this "radar" way too OP.

thats not what i said i included the TEAMMATE not enemy :P

Yes, It would increase the lag, but he said that you CAN turn it off in settings, so that players with good PCs can use it effectively.

And yes, it would make no sense to show the opponents health, but if you look at his first post, you'll see that he says very clearly that "The enemy's location and health status will NOT be included.

(In CTF mode, the friendly flag's location while held by an enemy will also not be shown, but when it's dropped, it is)"

All in all, I think this is a wonderful idea, new players could learn the maps easier, and bigger maps will be harder to get lost in. :D

I would also like to add to this idea--In CP mode, ALL the CPs will be shown, even if they aren't friendly. (My first time playing in Barda, I couldn't find one of the checkpoints fast enough to win the game, so yeah......Bigger maps with CP mode would be easier. :)

most map are not that big, one turn of view , you already have idea where teammates are.

True, but there are buildings that block teammate's name tags, and big maps are even harder to see.

In order for this mini-map to work, it would need to be 3D, and that would cause tons of lag, and if you had an option to turn it off, the players with better net conection would be able to use & abuse, so this idea is a bad one. explanation for why it has to be 3D: as you can tell, tanki isn't exactly a 2d game, take the map "madness" for example. either they'd have to be 3D and lagging, or 2D and confusing
