May look like a stupid question, but it's true. Most of the people are active only on social medias, they don't talk face-to-face as they used to. People need to learn to be present in the moment. Too often, I see teens on their smartphones messaging on social medias. They lose the ability to interact mindfully in the moment. Honestly, even adults do that to each other and it is quite upsetting. That even makes them more aggressive. Another big problem is that who are already sleep-deprived are becoming more sleep-deprived because many of them are up until the wee hours of the night texting. I think it's ridiculous, people aren't as open ask they need to be. The thing called 'social' media actually dissociates people in a way.

So, what you think?

^That's ridiculous. It just shows that you feared that you would lose control of yourself, which is wrong. If you trust yourself, and believe that you will not indulge in such stuff, you needn't deactivate your account. You just have to watch what you're doing, and take careful steps. If someone commits suicide for something that has happened to them over the internet, I would really blame the parents for not raising their kids properly. I am not saying that you are supposed to deny your kids to connect over the internet completely, but to teach them limits, and to teach them how to behave, and how to use it properly in the first place. The internet is great, it's just how you use it in the first place. BTW, just out of context, one would not commit suicide from ridicule which is fake, they would commit suicide from guilt. Everything you do will reflect back, so you better be careful for what you do.

I completely agree with the OP, this has kind of become a problem. Being honest, I find it quite annoying. It's kind of a blessing that I haven't gotten mobile internet yet, I don't even want to witness texting someone instead of talking to them when they are right in front of you.

I once went to be friend's birthday, and there was a silence, a silence because everyone was on their phones, on social media. That was kind of awkward since I really had nothing to do on my phone since I had a bad one back then, and nothing on it. So I just sit there quietly wondering what to do, but then I came up with something and we actually ended up having some fun outside.

Interesting. I support your point of view, partially, some people use social media to meet their relatives in foreign countries etc.

Yes definitely, as I said in the other topic, I went on about social media already so....

Social media such as Facebook,Twitter and instagram have made us less social with anyone. Instead of going out with friends and enjoying your time with family, people just use these sites with their online friends. People no longer need to be able to communicate properly with others due to the fact that the internet is doing it for them, In stead of talking to them face to face they will snapchat them or Send them a picture saying a message. I think the reason people are becoming less social is because of too many social sites. We can get access to it on our phones,TVs and other devices! It's all around us. Many people get to attached to their social media and if it gets hacked them made such a big deal out of it, like its your life! Its not ON! Many people commit suicide because they got hacked and rude/harsh things been wrote on your account. Don't do it, NEVER! Think about you family and friends they will be distressed for you committing suicide!

Think about it before you do it! NEVER COMMIT SUICIDE! I'm not telling you to do it. Just think how everyone will feel if you do commit suicide! If you do think about it call a helpline they will do everything to get you out of the mess!

(P.s if there's anything inappropriate here please remove it, I'm not trying to get a ban just trying to get the word out to people)
