Different design for M3+ (M4) equipment

Fully mu-ing m3 turrents and hulls changes it to xt and buying xt comes with fully mu-ed m3 and not only m3. You can increase the price to balance it.

Hello fellow tankers!

 

Recently, i have been thinking why TO doesn't pay more attention to M4 gear -Fully Micro-upgraded M3 20/20-.

and since i have a strong obsession with M4 stuff, so i came up with an idea.

 

which is Introducing M4 as an official in-game modification, which includes the following ;

 

-Having a distinctive look that is different and distinguished from other lower modifications.

 

-To be unlocked at a certain rank -Legend or higher- and each M4 item unlocks at a different legend rank

eg. Twins M4 at Legend 5, Smoky M4 at Legend 10.

 

-Prices of M4 equipment to be determined by TO developers,However, reaching M4 modification using Micro-upgrades should cost more than the standard price at the required rank. eg. M4 Smoky at Legend 10 costs 750k but MU from m3 to M4 cost 1.2m

 

-M4 stats will remain the same as they're now for all Turrets and Hulls.

 

Advantages of this feature:

 

-Players -including me- will be more excited and determined to fully MU their stuff in order to get that fancy look of M4.

-many others dont consider M4 as a real modification and it confuses many people especially at lower ranks.

 

-Many players believe that once you buy M3s you have nothing else left to do, thats why many players have already left the game -out of boredom i guess- and they also dont really consider M4 something worth working for since its not even an official modification.

but once M4s are unleashed. tons of those at M3 ranks will strive to put their hands on the legendary M4 stuff and their main objective will be accumulating their favorite M4 stuff.

 

-Introducing M4 will give the game a new aspect and open the door for more creative ideas and in game features, which makes the game more exciting and most importantly challenging !!

 

-Buyers will have a strong urge to buy the glamorous M4s before anybody else which means a better income for TO.

 

-Overall, i think this is a brilliant idea and i completely believe in it and actually i was wondering how come TO hasn't taken that into consideration yet! 

 

-Of course the idea wont be restrained by those features i listed above, but the door will be wide open for any tweaks and new ideas.

 

at last, i hope TO devs apply this into the game because its thoroughly obvious that its gonna improve the game performance and boost the players interest in TO.

This is the only realistic idea you provided. As for everything else - it has no real benefit for the game. All it does is introduce more powerful equipment that makes the game more pay-to-win, since buyers will get an advantage. It's not an interesting feature and it doesn't introduce any new mechanics to the gameplay.

I'm sorry but i don't really seem to get your point, buyers already can fully MU their stuff to M4 once they unlock M3s.

So why not make it an official modification instead of having Fully MU'ed M3s.

What difference would it make if buyers have the same privileges at either case ?

There's a few issues. First of all, M4 would need an unlock rank, and that can't be Legend 7 or something, since Legend is a single rank. While having M4s unlock at Legend is too early. Also, being able to buy an M4 tank without having to get speed-ups would be a pretty darn good deal, especially during holiday sales. And that's not good for developers, since they'd lose a lot of profit from that.

Legend isn't a single rank ! each time you rank up a new experience bar emerges and you rank increases as well. having the same rank badge doesn't necessarily mean all Legend ranks are the same.

and about the speed up thing, Doesn't TO  give us huge discounts on MUs now ? isn't it basically the same ? at either case the main objective is get to 20/20 M4.

You probably didn't get me idea correctly, I basically suggest to introduce M4 as a modification instead of having 20/20 M3 -which is technically an M4-.

the bottom line is, im not suggesting anything new, 'cause simply its already happening and i just wanna make it official thats all.

Naming something that already exists !

Legend isn't a single rank ! each time you rank up a new experience bar emerges and you rank increases as well. having the same rank badge doesn't necessarily mean all Legend ranks are the same.

When it comes to rank-exclusive features such as unlocking new levels of equipment, Legend is considered to be a single rank. The division of legend ranks into numbers is only there so that players could compare their levels, as well as have infinite opportunity for "rank-up parties" and 40k crystals per rank. Nothing more.

In my opinion, Xts should be replaced by M4s. Each turret and hull would have one, they would all unlock at Legend 1 and would be equivilent to a fully micro upgraded M3. There would be no upgrades for M4s, and they would become free to anyone with M3+ equipment. They would have the same skin as XT.

On the RU ideas site some ideas that were under review since 2009 are now getting implemented. So don't judge ideas like that. Just because it was posted a while ago and hasn't progressed, doesn't mean it lost its chance of being implemented, unless devs actually say so in an official announcement.

Most people want m4's in the game now and some call Fully Micro upgraded M3's M4's. Instead of just adding M4's they should call them Fully Micro Upgraded.

 

Once you fully upgrade a m3 turret or hull, Small visual changes like the blue lights on the turret turns to a different color,added armor plates and some small changes gets added. Once you reach this modification you can't upgrade your turret more. The fully MUed turrets and hull's looks will not be very different from m3's but will be able distinguish them from M3's. The turrets and hulls won't have alot of visual modifications like XT's

 

This is a not very useful idea but it just came into my mind hope you like it.

Having this small difference between you and other normal tankers without pressing V or other keys in order to see their equipment modification level is a nice small feature. It will save a bit of time by pressing and holding 1 key and confirming the numbers, if the target is far from you, the numbers get a bit difficult to see so in a battle, this will tell who is to be feared and who on, I personally like the idea.

Hey, I'm back with another Idea that I think would be quite useful, Let's Go:

 

My idea is basically self-explanatory.M3+ equipment should have different looks than the standard M3 look.This look, however, would not be a lot different than the standard one where only some parts of the turret or hull would be gold coloured.An alternative can be that the MUed item would have minor changes in the look that does not vary much from the standard M3 look.

 

NOTICE: By M3+ equipment, I mean fully MUed turret/hull. (i.e: 20/20)

 

I think that this idea would not make a huge difference in the game, but many players will like it. ))

It is a good idea, but it'll sure take some time implementing this update. And later how would it react with the XT skins update. 

 

It's good to have tiny specs that make it clearly visible that the equipment is M4 at a close range. Like addition of lights would look great

I think you'll like it better if you saw it. Also, how would you distinguish a M4 Hull then, if it wasn't with the Gold plating?

I should add part of the issue would be involuntarily mistaking some hulls for new XTs XD

Not likely but still a possibility.

 

If you look at an M3 Hull, most of the side armoring is a chrome diamond inlay pattern, which looks pretty badass as it stands.

Perhaps instead of re-colouring the side armoring, perhaps change the track design (Obvious one, look at the tracks on an M0-M3.) and possibly add more defined features but make sure they aren't obtrusive. Perhaps something similar to the Railgun/Hornet XT in TX. Add an even further streamlined shape to the hull/turret and add more lighting. Also, as we all know, shell colors also change each modification (Exceptions are Smoky and Magnum, which retain the same explosion sprite across all mods), perhaps make the shell color for M4s even more vivid. 

 

Example= Railgun M3 is White Gold (Real color btw, absolutely gorgeous), and the XT is Silver. Perhaps change the color of standard M4 to an almost orange color (Similar to M1-2 Ricochet) and the XT to a nearly 100% white color.

I have a question. I see that it might be late, and not entirely to the topic of this conversation (I don't know how to start a topic  :P )

We have been told that XTs will merge with normal items.

But the problem is, people who bought them will have their crystals wasted (from my understanding, due to the whole merging thing), and the main thing is that I plan to get Wasp XT, and keep my Wasp M0 for parkouring. If I get the Wasp XT, will it be merged, so I will only have 1 wasp? - I want to keep 2 wasps for different parkouring tricks
