Tank Radar

Recommended Posts

At the bottom left corner you can choose to have a round radar or not. The radar will show where enemies are, but they will be like blue dots or red dots. But it cannot measure the landscape, you can only use it to know if any freeze or shaft is hiding around you.

Bad idea.

1. It makes it too easy.

2. In real life there can never be a radar that shows mines.

3. Where's the satellite?

4. Even if there was a 'satellite', a player can have the option of jamming the signals.

5. It's too over-powered.

6. Stealth is a key tactic so it makes it too easy to spot vulnerable snipers.

7. Don't even say transparent paint.

I am suggesting having a radar available, disclosing ONLY the positions of your teammates on the map. On big maps like Dusseldorf and Berlin, and even Serpuhov, it can be important to know where your teammates are, what your defense looks like, and if the flag carrier needs help. Post your opinions on this in the comments below.

hello since when did Military operations have track of their enemies unless they infiltrated on a full skill death  mission. Ever see the movie "Guns of Naverone"? The guys had to go to germany to disable the turret that kept shooting out the enemy ships in their sights. The men were captured but they survived.

But one thing comes to mind, you can have track of your teammates, each player being a  different dot for their combination. Such as  a blue and green dot for a hornet, railgun. Then in CTF modes you can make the flag carrier/holder a square with the color insignia of your team.

In my opinion, a radar isn't needed.

The simple solution is the camera. You know, the one you control by using your turret!

It's much more fun anyway then looking at a mini-map . . . .again, that's just my view.

And why can we only use it to find Freezes and Shafts? . . . No thanks.

And I totally disagree with them showing mines. And if it's inaccurate, then the point is. . .. ?

Just use your camera effectively.

Eh. I guess some people just don't know the true potential of the camera, thus, it would be easier just to take a glance at some mini-map. -sigh-

And true, I would understand somewhat for larger maps such as Dusseldorf, Berlin, but again, those are just a few maps and are not played very much at all compared to the more common maps. Not to mention, don't doubt the power of the camera. Even without a mini-map, it's still very possible to keep track of surroundings and enemies. That's where strategy and thinking comes in, and it's one of the biggest reasons why Tanki Online is so awesome.

And how would a radar only disclosing the location of teammates help determine whether or not a flag carrier needs help? It would not disclose the information of enemies, nor does it say anywhere in your post that it would show the health bar. But either way, the flag would be 1st priority and any person carrying the flag should be assisted. . .whether that may be staying near the flag carrier, scouting the areas ahead, or even protecting your own flag to be sure the enemy flag can be successfully captured without delay. Just thought I'd point that out.

Personally, a mini-map for me wouldn't make the game more fun. It's more like an unnecessary feature. But that's just how I perceive it to be.
